0 stars if I could. Checked in as I am in town for a funeral. Room was filthy. Hair, sticky stuff, garbage on the floor, dirty shower, no bed skirts and so much more. I took pictures went to the desk and asked for the GM, the man at the desk identified himself as the GM. Spoiler he wasn't. I showed him the pictures and asked for some kind of compensation. He said I could leave or move rooms and ga e me a master key with a sticky note and 4 room numbers telling ne they were the best rooms in the hotel. Checked the first no bed skirts just walked out 2nd rooms was the same 3rd room smelled and had visible dirt on all the furniture so I went back and said how about you just send so.eone to clean the room he said he would. I left the hotel to be with family at this point. Csme back and the only thing done was the paper on the floor was picked up. Hair, crumbs, shower. All of it not touched so at this point I called hotels.com who I booked through for help. They contacted the desk and said they only thing they would do was check me out. Now I paid the hotel directly so they really couldn't do much else for me so I called Wyndham and filed a complaint. A few minutes later my room phone rings, it's the GM telling me he has called the police on me for harrassing the front desk saying I was calling them every half hour. 2nd spoiler I did not call or speak to the front desk in anyway since my initial conversation with front desk worker DK. I csll3d Wyndham back put them on speaker and politely asked who was calling because it was hot me and I had the phone log to prove it. He said it didn't matter and that the police were on there way. I asked again can you at least tell me who is calling every half hour he said no. I again said I have not contacted them then he said that his front desk was afraid and trembling mind you I am a female in my 50"s a professional and everyone at the desk was a full adult male. I stated if he would tell me who had been calling I would love to help he then basically admitted I was getting booted because I made a complaint to Wyndham. Joke was on him because I had Wyndham on the phone the rep stated she documented everything. The GM lost it. I went outside to wait for police. Ad I was speaking to the police telling them what happened he came out sore at me and when I said I have a legal right to file a complaint said I don't have a right to do S$!t. The cop had to tell him to shut it. Then after the police left and I was leaving he flipped me off smiled and waved. Do not stay here the rooms are gross and the staff 3specualky Chet the GM are psychopaths who don't want to fix or clean their hotel but will kick you for being upset about paying almost $200 a night for a dirty rooms with furniture that needs to be replaced. read more

This is a great place to stay if you would like your things rummaged through and then, taken from you... but don't worry, they don't fluff and tuck your room while they are entertaining themselves with your items, that were not left out for them to take home! I left my room and when I came back four hours later, the bed was not as I left it and there was a hanger on the floor. I NEVER EVEN OPENED THE CLOSET DOOR. My friend who had traveled with me had her Beat headphones, her kindle, and her Diff sunglasses taken out of her bag that was zipped shut, and the items were BURIED under clothes. But wait! Did I mention that the room was never cleaned? The workers went in the room for ONE purpose, and it was not to do their job. Now I understand that said employees have been terminated and new management is in place. However, we have reached out to management with little help on being reimbursed for the stolen items. I understand that management has changed; but has ownership changed as well?? Am I wrong to assume that ownership should be responsible in helping rectify this situation? I think not. Management may respond to this review. But keep in mind, they have responded ONLY to ONE email, and it was very brief. Our stay was a month ago. I am not sure if front desk staff has also been replaced, but as a former hotel manager of a Holiday Inn, I assure you that front desk staff should NEVER say your room number out loud. EVER. When both of our key cards stopped working, we let the front desk know and they were happy to re-key them. Did they ask for an ID or name? Absolutely NOT. They only asked what our room numbers were. NEVER okay. Hope this helps you find a better place to spend your money. $285 for two nights of unrest and catastrophe should be spent somewhere else. We've had better service at Chuck E. I had my engagement party here in their meeting room! It held up about 35 people! We had tables ranging from round to rectangular tables. It was a wonderful space and we had the chance to bring in our own food and drinks for the party! It was quick and easy access from the parking for loading and unloading our supplies. I took one star off because there was miscommunication with the types of tables we had in the agreement. They didn't have the right amount of tables they originally agreed with us. There was also a certain amount of stuff left in the walls that weren't cleaned up from the previous event hosted there that I wished the room was looked through. Overall a great space to host parties for about less than 40 people since it did get tight walking around with even just 30 people. Otherwise it was a great space! read more

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years. Until recently it was run by the Larson family and the service was outstanding. In my last two stays since the Larson family was tragically lost, this hotel has taken a nose dive in quality, service, and value. In fact prices have gone up. My recent 5 day stay I received not one single room cleaning/service, even though I requested it three separate times. I was told they only have one full time maid (poor thing). The breakfast is the same thing over and over and many items are out of stock or not there. The cleanliness has deteriorated especially in the public areas. I have to come back in 3 weeks and I will not be staying at this hotel property - probably ever again. There are plenty of options in the area, and Yelp community - I suggest you look elsewhere also. What a wonderful place! We stayed here for several days. And every day was great. The accommodations, the room, and the breakfast that was provided were all fantastic. However, we did not have service to our room. We had to go to the front desk just to get fresh towels. We asked if that was normal, and they said it was. That you had to request fresh towels. I said to the lady at the desk we would be there for several days and that I would like to request fresh towels every day. She said OK. The next day no towels. We asked for them again and we had to go to the front desk to pick them up. I think this should be an included service at any hotel. On our way out I asked why we had to get her own towels from the front desk, and she told us that due to Covid they weren't cleaning rooms or refreshing the towels. Although they claim this was due to Covid, none of the staff were even wearing masks. If Covid was such a concern, that they would not clean your room, or provide fresh towels, you would think that they would be as concerned to wear masks. This place was great and I'm still going to give it five Stars because the accommodations were awesome. They just need to figure out a way to at least deliver towels and not make excuses. read more

We stayed here for a weekend, we had initially booked a 1 bedroom suite but the only one they apparently had was not laid out like the one we had stayed in before. When we brought this up, they moved us into a room with a king size bed and pull out couch. So we were downgraded. Awesome. The room was ok until we really started to look. There was a stain on the brown cover they put at the bottom of the bed. This was not the first stain we came across. When evening came and we went to pull out the couch bed, there was a MASSIVE stain clearly caused by a liquid of some type on the bed frame. It had actually leaked through and created a stain on the mattress as well. So back in goes the mattress and our daughter slept on the couch. When we went to get bedding, we had a pillow and nothing else. At this point my husband had overheard that the employee working the front desk had been working for over 14 hours. We had no desire to bother her, so we gave her our blanket and a sheet and slept with just a sheet ourselves. Breakfast items like yogurt were constantly out, as well as bread and other options for the toaster. We won't be back. The stains were enough to cross it off our list of future stays. read more

I stayed here for one night recently for a business trip. PROS: -Nice lobby and welcoming staff -I believe they have a pool, though I didn't use it -The rooms are comfortable and have HUGE bathrooms. For some reason, I was put in a room with two beds (and it was just me) but the rooms are your typical size. There are tons of charging outlets all over the room, plus a TV and drawers. -Breakfast was fantastic, for a continental breakfast. They had a "make your own omelette" station with someone manning it and doing custom omelettes - you can choose what you want in it. (I don't like eggs, but this was a nice touch) Also they have a make your own waffle machine, and tons of continental options like cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. I do wish they offered soy milk (I can't do dairy milk) but oh well. -The rooms have a microwave, a mini-fridge, and tea and coffee options. -I saw they do a complimentary USA Today, and when we arrived they had complimentary cookies too. MEH: -Bed was just okay. I didn't realize until I was getting to sleep that there's no comforter - it's just a regular sheet, a slightly more thick sheet, and I think one other one. CONS: -There's no restaurant in the hotel, I believe. I got in my first night and was super hungry, we did a small happy hour with my work group but it was mostly cheese/crackers, fruit, and wine. They do have a small pantry area where you can purchase things, I spied some snacks and would be curious to see if they had other stuff like microwaveable pizzas, etc. -The charging areas in the rooms are SUPER, SUPER SLOW. I thought maybe it was just the cord I was using (I was using an iPhone cord to charge an iPad), but in their meeting room the next day, the same thing occurred - it took about 60 minutes to charge my iPad by 30%. Same for both my iPhone and my personal (Android) phone, but luckily I had about 7-8 hours to charge those, overnight. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel - I can't speak as to how it compares to other Bismarck hotels, but for the rooms were nice and both the lobby/staff are nice as well. read more

I have a lot of patience for hotels. I travel all of the time. I understand that things happen and that there is no such concept of a perfect hotel. This place, however, really let me down. 1.) We called to check-in. We were told by the front desk they were ready. When we arrived he said that they would not be able to check us in. Completely destroyed our plans for the rest of the day. 2.) When we got into our room it literally smelled like human body odor. 3.) We had no room service for the entire duration of our 4 day stay. On the second day, I told the housekeeping staff to PLEASE clean our room and they did not. I called the front desk and she told me that she could do nothing. 4.) The parking lot was not maintained and was not shoveled. Cars were literally stuck inside. 5.) Winter! One of the reasons I booked this hotel was so that I could use the "amenities". The spa was out of service the entire four days. They promised it would be fixed by the last day. It wasn't. 6.) The gym equipment was broken. I told the front desk. Nothing was done. 7.) The WIFI is sub-dial up. Almost worse than not having anything. 8.) The only positive experience I had was the breakfast. The staff there was awesome and they did a really nice job. read more

After driving 7hrs we go to check in at 538pm, told my room might not be ready. check out is 11am, check in 4pm so 5 1/2 hours and the room isn't ready. I spend 25minutes in the lobby waiting to see if I can check in with three toddlers in the car. We get to the room finally, instantly smells like just body odor, or masked smoke smell and the room is just dingy. The couch with the hideaway bed is got brown stains around the sides and cigarette burns on the cushion, we go and pull out the hideaway bed and they have a twin mattress in a obviously queen frame, so there is a twin mattress surrounded by metal bed frame. in addition a sheet is on it with pink nail polish stains. Next to the couch the electrical outlet is missing the cover. Bedroom isn't much better, the lamp in the corner is leaning against the wall, it's broken and propped up. Bathroom lacks any amenities a hotel should have, not even soap. A rainstorm passes through, every single window leaks, water is pouring down from the window seals pooling on the sill and dripping down into the air-conditioning unit in the living room and bedroom. You have to ask to have your room cleaned due to covid restrictions, I asked and nobody showed up, no towels, no trash taken out, that's all we asked. I brought all this up to the manager on dayshift (I think his name was Jesse or Jason), he wrote it down assured me the maintenance man come in at 9am and a minimum the electrical covers and water leaking in would be taken care of. We went out for the day and returned 11hrs later to not a single thing done to the room. So I gave the hotel a chance to make this right and was presented with a huge slight, for the money, don't waste it on this hotel, it's poorly maintained, dingy and disgusting. read more

The beds were very comfortable and I didn't have any hang-ups during my stay. I wasn't "WOWed" like I thought I would be, since it has only been open a few months. We booked this hotel after seeing 4 star reviews on Yelp and Expedia. The hotel looks clean and new from the outside and the lobby looked pretty clean. The parking lot was well lit and full. We were given a room on the second floor, and almost immediately regretted booking the hotel. The carpet obviously hadn't been vacuumed, there was a blood stain between the beds, snot on the wall, white stains on the curtains, chair, bed throw, and bed skirt. There were breadcrumbs on the bed, and hair on the bed. The room was very easily visibly dirty. We didn't really have to look hard, everywhere we turned, there were stains, hair, dust or crumbs. We requested a different room and after explaining the condition of our room, we were told that it was dirty because "a lot of construction workers pass through and trash the rooms." It was after midnight by the time we got into our second room. The story was much of the same. There was a large white stain, easily visible on the bed skirt between the 2 beds, the room again was obviously not vacuumed, and there was hair in the bathroom and on the bed. There were equally as many stains on the walls, curtains, and chair as the first room. The bathroom had blood looking stains on the floor and in the shower, and 2 of the towels looked used. The bed was crumb free. The hotel seemed quiet, as the parking lot was nearly empty by 7:30am. If you want a clean place to sleep after a long drive, this definitely isn't the place. read more

They have a nice morning breakfast, during the work week they have a person that cooks omelettes. There was a lot of kids in the hotel but that generally didn't bother me. This was a fine hotel. Only stayed for one night so can't complain too much, however, there are some things worth mentioning. The hotel staff was very friendly and nice which makes for a nice & comfortable environment. I was pretty disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. The shower curtain was very dirty, had lots of brown spots all over it & the tub was full of mildew. The shower and bathroom products they gave us were already used and half empty, which I have never experienced before! The Wingate is a newer hotel on the north end of the city but an easy drive from anywhere. Rooms are quiet and well-maintained, front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We got a handicapped-accessible room (though neither of us if impaired) and it had the wide doorways, large bathroom and roll-in shower that would be needed. They have free wi-fi and I had no problem with slow connections or dropouts. The free breakfast had the usual pastries, cereal, and waffles but added made-to-order omelets - yum! They also have a bar that's open from 6 to 10pm, with daily drink specials. I really can't think of anything to criticize! read more

My second time staying here, always a pleasant stay, got a good deal on priceline express deals, room was pretty clean although the carpet could have been vacuumed better. The room was dry so I woke up with a bad sore throat, too bad you can't open the window.The flags outside should be changed out asap as they worn out very bad. they have a large commons area with tables and couches etc which would be nice for a get together with larger groups rather than cramming everyone in a room. The pool could have been warmer. They have a fully stocked bar and the bartender Christian was very friendly and hospitable and made great drinks. read more

made this reservation a few weeks in advance and after a drive over 5 hours after getting off of work the room was not ready by 4 and there wasn't any cars in the parking lot and the front desk lady at first said it would be a thirty minute wait and then after those thirty minutes a dude came on shift? And the dude seemed to not care about his job or about getting us checked in and I asked a few times up to two hours after the check in time if our room was ready and he just said "no" and wouldn't give us an estimate. I didn't want to cancel and get a charge and he didn't give me any update or anything so I called and told him we've been waiting for a little over two hours now and he hasn't given us an update and I wanted to cancel if the room isn't ready and if I won't get charged for cancelling and he said no I can cancel it for you and I told him to do it and he just hung up. Nice pretty clean hotel. Staff NOT friendly or attentive at all. I prefer no indoctrination with Breakfast. What is with all the low information peeps who actually want to watch Fox and listen to made up stuff? Not me. Are there not local channels in ND? What is up with that. I find it offensive.I asked and they told me that was the channels they get. Duh there is CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, LOCAL STATIONS. Geez, And could not get change to leave a tip for the breakfast person believe it or not it got worse. The only entrance was blocked by a car and they left snow drifts blocking half the entrance after it was moved.. We left and went to get food. When we returned we got stuck. That was it . My husband was in severe pain because of the wind. He was pushing the car out of the snowdrift. These people are idiots!!!!! Geez , I have NEVER , EVER, seen anything this ridiculous in my 69 years on this planet. The manager and assistant manager should not even have JOBS anywhere. Very nice property, good location, modern design, clean, friendly staff. This place was close to a nice bar and grill for dinner as well as a Dunn Bros coffee shop. My only complaint is that the pillow case wasn't as soft as I am used to. But I would stay here again for sure. Given the quality of this property, the price was a steal. read more

The standard king room was very worn and so were the chairs in the breakfast area. We stayed for 2 nights in July and both mornings at 8:00am, there was very little food left. 2 slices of bread, no bagels, the coffee machines were both empty, no fruit, etc etc. It would be nice if they say that they have a breakfast included; that they at least keep putting food out. Booked through the Wyndham website a king room with tub. No tub, adjoining, wheelchair accessible room. Called the front desk, his only compensation was a double queen room. His remarks about "weird" and "that's thing only thing I can do for you" were a little off putting. After a couple minutes ,the noise from the next room's quiet conversation made it clear that we wanted to get a refund. Called the front desk again and he let me know that we could leave, then call back tomorrow for a refund. He explained that he recently started working the front desk and doesn't have the authority to issue refunds, and he's the only person working tonight. Pretty disappointing. My husband and I were stranded in Bismarck because of some sleeting rain, and decided to give this hotel a try. The beds were lovely, the room was clean and modern, and the service was friendly and quick. They had a workout center and a swimming pool with a hot tub. The breakfast was delicious and has a variety of options. They even have a staff member making omelets to order! Our service from Francine was awesome. She greeted guests as they came into the breakfast area and asked each person if they'd like an omelet. The only reason I gave this hotel a 4 star rating is because it's a little ways off the interstate and took a while to find... The lady working the front desk also had the first three buttons of her shirt unbuttoned to show off a tattoo, which struck me as a little unprofessional. read more

Her attitude was friendly always and her mission was to help me get into a room despite some problems with the credit card payment. She used her expertise to resolve the issue all the making me feel welcome and at ease. The room is great and the bed is wonderful. I was efficiently greeted at the reception desk which worked for us because we were tired and wanted to get to our room quickly. The room decor was customary however there were several issues with cleanliness I.e. Urine stains on front of toilet, accumulation of dust on some objects and the bedside table needed wiping down. Bed was comfortable & room was quiet. My wife went to get hot tea at reception and informed one of the staff hot water was not hot, staff response was "yes it is". Needs instruction on customer relations. Breakfast was above average with a made to order custom omelet station, a nice touch. Price was good at just under $100. read more

My family stayed at the hotel on Aug 29th. My credit card was billed on Aug 30th - posted to my credit card on 9/1. My credit card was then billed a second time - posted to my credit card on 9/8. I called the hotel directly about their error and received merely a "yeah, we know about the issue, refund will be applied soon"... when I pressed for specific information I was told I have to call back to get further details, because manager isn't available until 10:30am". When I finally reached the manager, I was told this issue affected a huge number of customers and the total refund is so large that they needed to process it all together and that a refund would be applied to all affected customers on 9/26. I wait, and as of 9/28 I still have no refund on my card. I called again on 9/28, and this time the representative tells me that there was a 'glitch' and that refunds are delayed again and will now be refunded back to my card on October 3rd. Completely ridiculous. This is 2016 - we have 24/7 internet. Get your issue corrected Wingate!! Your error should have been rectified immediately, I don't care how many customers were affected. read more

1 of the best in town. Very nice hotel. We appreciated The Drink Coupons, but didnt get Any for our Second Night. Few areas for improvement: Bar should be open All Day, not for only 5-6 Hours per Day. Breakfast should run to 10 AM. Pool should have been Warmer. Strangely, housekeeping not available for room service after 2 PM. They gave us towels , but they should be available to clean room Any Time. Also, we stopped by at 9 PM, nobody at front desk. Lady was outside on break. There should be 2 agents on duty, so if someone is taking a break, someone else covers.. Also she had visible tattoo and dressed unprofessionally. Seemed to be wearing pajamas. Men should be wearing suits and ties, and ladies should be wearing upscale business suits, not Sleepingwear in a high-end hotel, such as this. Also, gentleman Bartender was a nice guy. However, he was indicating that this is just a stopping point for him until he gets a better Bartending job. He also was sharing his views about not being Religious, and how he has 3 kids but doesn't believe in getting Married. While of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions, such controversial opinions are best left to one's self in a professional environment. I don't need my family listening to such things.
