This is going to be a problem. One of the most delicious problems problems I've ever had…read more My friend and I were craving wings and decided to give this place a try...lemon basil dry rub? Like what? We chose that and Carolina Gold...when I say the wings are juicy, they're juicy. Crisp on the outside, flavorful, and juicy on the inside. The lemon basil is my new favorite, even more so when dipped into their Yum Yum sauce. The Carolina Gold reminds me of honey mustard with a little extra pizzazz. The cauliflower bites (we got mild) still had a nice kick. Bring some to your veggie-head friend and relish the praise, along with the fried okra. I make it a point to try fried okra if it's on the menu, and yes. All the yes. It was cooked through with the perfect snap, so fresh. Add some mozzarella sticks if you're feeling generous. I brought those home and popped into the air fryer for 3 minutes. Perfection. Next up is the Cheesesteak egg roll. I could literally eat 4 in one sitting. They're so good that the next order placed will involve a cheesesteak. Survey says...10/10. Great service, delicious food, all in all a great establishment. Love the colors inside too.

I had wings (obviously) and selected 2 flavors - Honey Lemon Garlic and Thai Chili. They were fried hard and held their crisp under the sauce. WIN!! Both sauces hit but I think the lemon garlic was my top. Add to it, the customer service was great. Seemed family run. There was a young man and an older gentleman at the register. Both were helpful and welcoming and seemed to have a familial respect for each other which was also awesome to see. I'll definitely return.

It was packed but we got one of the last tables available and were seated right away, others that came later had to wait. Service was great--staff were friendly and attentive. My favorite dish here is the Fried Chicken Wings with Garlic Sauce (Bone-in)--lollipop style wings, the flavor is unique and delicious, and the portion is huge! The Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce and Noodle with Veg & Beef Spicy Seafood Soup are my top favorites noodle dishes here. We also got the Fried Dumplings, which were just okay. For drinks, they have a variety of Soju, another drink favorite of mine lol. Highly recommend this place!

In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

The gentleman and the cook in the back were very friendly. And the oxtails...LORD they were soooo good!! The flavor, the tenderness just 10/10. It's that good that I didn't want to finish eating it! When I tell you that oxtail was falling off the bone? 10/10. The brown stew chicken was flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. The cabbage was seasoned perfectly, not soggy, not bland. Everything on that plate hit. No complaints about the food whatsoever. The space itself is small, clean, and minimally decorated. Nothing fancy, but very well-kept, and I appreciate that. Service was good. The owner personally took care of me and accommodated my request to swap out the rice for extra cabbage with no issue. I always appreciate when owners are hands-on and attentive. Now for the hiccup: the credit card machine wasn't working, so I had to pay via Cash App. Not ideal, but okay. What almost took me out was the attempt to add a service charge. I definitely spoke up because that extra $1? Yeah... it was about the principle. Sheesh. Overall, the positives outweighed the minor inconvenience. The food alone would have me coming back. And for me, that says a lot.

That's pretty reasonable. Every dish was well prepared and nicely flavored. No mushy vegetables here. Yucca fries: not greasy, nice and crispy. Good with any of their dipping sauces. Fried rice: very tasty dish with hints of chicken. Black beans, really tender and nicely flavored. Broccoli: super delicious super food, done perfectly, not mushy and just the right amount of crunch. Green beans: such an easy dish and they nailed it. Plantains: who doesn't like a good fried plantain? These were awesome! And the cookie is a sweet deal too. Go for it. I wasn't surprised to see a large number of to go orders at their pick up desk. The word is out on how great their food is here. Plenty of parking in their private lot on Baltimore road.

The guy who preps the chicken didn't hear me? Giving me only one half chicken white. Manager fixed things but it did mess up their process a bit. I had to make sure I got the correct second meal. The chicken was great. Moist just the way we like it. The string beans were not cooked properly even though they looked good. This happens too often. The sauces. First, we just don't get enough sauces as part of the meal. Second, I was making sure I got enough sauces this time and ordered my usual types. Apparently, yellow sauce is now considered to be honey mustard. I did get some of the great tasting amerillo sauce but also got honey mustard which elsewhere is usually just fine. This honey mustard is awful. Trying to be like everyone else is not what made Sardis a success. If you must have honey mustard sauce go get a batch from McDonalds or some other fast food in the area. It will taste better. Was not happy with this visit. Given how high the prices have gotten Sardis can't afford to go down hill any further. I'm sure I'll go back sometime. Hoping things get better. Three stars cause the chicken was great.

The Chicken tenders weren't tender and the coating was over-salted. The full rack of BBQ Pork ribs was a winner, tender and meaty with great flavor. The Slow-smoked Chicken is delicious and a nice, moist change from the usual chicken treatments. The Smoked Chicken Wings were great too. I wouldn't get the Texas Beef Brisket or the Carolina Pulled Pork again, but they weren't bad, just lots of other choices that were better! The sides here are stand-outs too. I almost didn't get the vegetarian Collard Greens since I love collards cooked with meat but these were delicious -- they never made it to the microwave, they were so vinegary-good when I sampled them cold lol! The Mac & Cheese was good and cheesy. The baked beans were good but again vegetarian where I'd prefer meat included and I didn't care for the sweet sauce. The Skillet Cornbread is the best I've had, slightly sweet with a good corn flavor that made me decide to buy a WHOLE skillet rather than just the generously portioned slice next time, especially since it's such a good value. I do regret not trying the coleslaw and potato salad so again, next time. The little rolls are tasty too, moist and slightly sweet but it's a pity they aren't burger-size so you can make a sandwich with all that delicious meat and sides.

Now parking and being comfortable, that might be where the fun stops. The parking lot and both the inside of the bar are both stuffffffy. Super congested. Parking is located around the front, side and back of the restaurant, but side parking is shared with the restaurant next door. Additionally, there's houses and I believe a car shop near-by, that causes further congestion in the surrounding area. BUT once you are parked and in, you will have a warm-time. I also believe that this location could increase their ac-use. It was HOT in here the one time I visited.

I had a friend who used to go and pick up tamales at Remington's, decades ago, and share them with me. I've never been inside. I knew their food was consistently reliable based on the fact that people are still crowding its parking lot. Remington's sits on a long stretch of road with two major towns at each end: College Park and Laurel. There have been nights - decades ago - in bad weather, driving along this long stretch of road where nothing else in the densely built suburban landscape to the left and right of it was open. But Remington's faithfully was and still is with its lit sign. Sort of like a true outpost in an old Western. Remington's is all bar stools, bar and high-top tables unless you are eating at the picnic tables or smoking cigars and sipping whiskey on the covered outdoor patio. But if you want to eat indoors, I think there are only 4 standard tables in the restaurant. This is a clean and comfortable dive bar atmosphere with tv monitors for sports. Yelp asked if Remington's was intimate, and yes, because it is small and cozy. I wonder if Remington's hasn't gotten fancy - in food and beverages - over the years to keep pace with the not-so-distant University of Maryland students. Since I've never been inside before, I wouldn't know how it used to be. Our crowd appeared as locals, less elite and middle-aged gathered for the FIFA games. I was surprised to find - in the outpost-like atmosphere Remington's has always been located in - most burgers are over $18. But this is one place where I'm not complaining because the food was darn good. Let's start with the mussels. If I were a Belgian chef I do not think that I could have made these mussels - and their glorious broth - better. The mussels were tender and flavorful. The cream broth was the best. This broth was the most creamy and simultaneously ultra-garlicky that I've enjoyed. I loved the tomatoes seasoned with a spicy kick tossed in. This is a culinary refinement because if they are actually cooked into the broth, the tomatoes would change the color of the white broth, and its taste. These tomatoes were a welcome touch. I don't know if this is a Maryland style of broth but sign me up. I'm talking a mussel broth love affair over here. The cheesesteak was better than most in this area. I wasn't hallelujah-ing in the aisles but I liked that the meat actually wasn't flimsy. It tasted like a thinly-chopped ribeye, a bit chewy with a sear. I liked the size of the strips. Was it actually steak vs. frozen beef paper slices? I think I can say, "yes," it's actually a cheese steak." The Reuben sandwich was well seasoned. I think it was thousand island, but whatever it was had a nice flavor. It's not easy to find a place where you can order Reuben's these days. On Yelp, I saw an Indian Butter Chicken pizza but I didn't find it. I wonder if it could be requested. They have so many varieties of pizza combinations. I'm just taking a wild guess and thinking that their pizzas are as equally flavorful. I ordered a cranberry fruit crush. Yum! Righteously. I don't know if it was juice added to another orange, fruity mixture but I loved it. It was sweet at first and then strong: all in the first sip. Sampled beers: 1. The Main Beer Company's "Lunch" IPA. This is straight grapefruit hops on the palette. A characteristic strong body. Bitter as should be for a New England IPA. 2. Bells Two-Hearted IPA (ABV 7.0%): this one was very drinkable and by that I mean I really enjoyed it. It is brewed with centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest. Yes. It is described as having, "hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit." 3. Elysian's Space Dust (ABV 8.2%) is pure IPA. Strong likely from the chinook. It's from Michigan. It's described as a "Great Western premium two row with c-15 and Dextri-pils." Not a beer snob but I appreciate the geeking-out and Dr. Seuss-inspired branding. New England IPA fans will love this one. I'm only a fan of West Coast-style IPA's. 4. RaR Grove City Hefeweisen (ABV 5.3%) is a clear and light hefeweizen. Easy to drink. Highly recommended, with a few added oranges. A half of a ripe white peach would be interesting in this beer, if the bar happened to have them. Remington's markets Whiskey Flights as a way to taste rare bottles. They do not list the prices on these flights. I guess it's an, "if they have to ask ..." scenario. I am intrigued about these whiskey flight prices. I didn't catch the times of happy hour but there is also a golden hour. I also saw daily special weekday prices from 7pm and onward. Maybe this is the golden hour. Like the one restaurant open through rain, wind, sleet and snow, serving up its magic faithfully for decades. Whatever the case, this is one restaurant that appears like a dive bar but over-delivers in food quality and taste. Applause for Remington's!
