D&D is good! I was in the area and seriously craving Caribbean food. I pulled up trusty yelp, and up pops our current community manager Andrew's raving review...so it was on! I quickly parked and walked in to place order. Btw-parking is plentiful due to restaurant being located in a small strip mall. The place is a decent size and neatly decorated, with an order counter in the back. I picked up a combo curry chicken and brown stew chicken with rice and peas, and cabbage. And an oxtail meal that also comes with rice and peas, and cabbage. Both were pretty tasty..after sampling both. And their beef pies are really good. They make filling and bake the crust in house (but outsource the dough), which makes a difference in the quality of the patty. The owner was really nice and professional, and packaged up my order very nicely. Highly recommend this place!!

A True Gem in the DMV! If you're in the Beltsville area or surrounding area and craving authentic Jamaican food, this spot is a must-visit. The curry chicken is absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with just the right kick. You can tell it's made with love and tradition. Also, the rice and peas, along with the cabbage, were absolutely divine. The owners are a lovely couple--warm, welcoming, and proud of their food. It's always a great experience when the hospitality matches the quality of the meal. Don't leave without trying the patties! Both the chicken and beef patties are flaky, buttery, and packed with rich, savory filling. Highly recommend if you're looking for real Jamaican comfort food that hits the spot! I forgot to mention, the plantains were the best that I've had in a very long time...sweet and yummy. You...must...try this restaurant.

The inside is spacious, but only about 4 tables. There was no one inside, so we were able to eat in. Service was friendly. We tried: Jerk wings (not pictured) - ok, more sweet than spicy. Brown stewed chicken - kinda tasted like bbq chicken. Not bad, just not the taste I was expecting Curry chicken - good. Would have liked more sauce though Rice & peas - fabulous Cabbage - simply lovely. Only downside is the peas in it. I despise peas. Overall, it wasn't bad. I wouldn't go back simply because I don't live close and I've had better at closer spots. Overall, this isn't a bad place.

Y'all! Listen! I've finally found some GOOD Jamaican food . Y'all don't understand how happy I am! This place is a small carry out (we ate in-4 tables) but there is nothing small about the food! We got the curry chicken and whew! The curry chicken meal comes with plantains, rice and cabbage. The curry chicken was very tender, fall off the bone, with a hint of spice *chefs kiss* the rice was good and so was the cabbage. The only thing I would suggest would be to cook the cabbage just a little more and give me MORE cabbage lol No but all in all definitely a 10/10! The parking lot has plenty of parking, they have a bathroom and 4 tables if you want to eat inside. Also I met the owner, Hewston, and he's great also!

Oh. If you are in Beltsville and craving Jamaican food, this is a MUST HAVE. It's a tiny sign outside, and there are some lights in the window that catch your eye for sure. Once you go inside, it's quite open, spacious. There's only one or two tables on each side, so seating is quite limited. If it isn't crowded you can definitely hang out in there. It's nice and chill. I saw a menu on the counter and looked through the options... they have the typical meats and seafoods in platters, and you could get a combo of any two for a few more dollars. The upbeat woman behind the counter told my friend and I to take our time and let her know when we were ready. I decided to get both jerk chicken and curry chicken -- kill two birds with one stone. It took about 10-15 minutes and we grabbed a seat. Y'all, they did the thing... before giving the food to us, they OPENED THE TRAY AND SHOWED IT TO US. Only my most favorite places so far have done that. Did I mention it was steaming? Y'all, I'm talking PIPING hot. SHEESH. We decided to eat there since it was quiet... and... we both were VERY happy. The rice & peas had a hint of coconut to it, and the jerk & curry chickens were both flavorful and delicious -- great texture, not too spicy, all that. Steamed cabbage and plantain were winners as well! As we ate, I had said it'd be nice if they had some music going... and about 10 minutes later that very thing happened... the vybez were truly present. All this to say, I'm eager to bring my parents here and I cannot wait to try other things on the menu! Sorry I'm late to the train! I just may have a new top 3 list now :).

A great place to get delicious, genuine Caribbean food! Ambiance: This sits in a small strip mall so it shares it's parking lot with a few other places but there is plenty of parking. The restaurant only has a few benches on either side of it so I would not recommend bringing a huge party in. They also do carryout though so that is another option. At first they didn't have any music on and it was pretty quiet but around 4-5 PM the music was turned on and the mood was set! Service: The service was amazing. The lady who served us was extremely nice and thoughtful. She even showed us the food before giving it to us in the end and that was just the beginning of our adventure. Food was cooked fresh so it took about 15 minutes or so. Food: Now for the most important part. The taste of the food. The food was cooked fresh and was piping hot when it was given to us. Everything was flavorful from the jerk wings to the beans and rice. The plantains were on point as well. I even got to taste a little of the curry chicken and the flavoring was also spot on. There is nothing to complain about. They also serve desserts which may be worth a try next time. The portions you get for the pricing is spot on I think. Overall: Nothing to complain about here and I will definitely be back for the curry chicken!

    Oxtail Dinner

Craving some Jamaican oxtails dinner and decided to give this new restaurant in Laurel a try. I was warmly greeted by one of the owners Miss Deb. Her warm bubbly personality is exactly as other Yelp reviews said. It's refreshing to finally get a warm welcome and shown appreciation for my business at a Jamaican restaurant. I ordered the oxtail dinner with rice n peas, plantains, and no gravy as I'm not a fan of gravy on my food. I wasn't in the mood for cabbage vegetables that evening. Let me first just say that Oxtails is my all time favorite Jamaican dish and I well know how it should taste. Theirs was on pint and hands down the BEST I've had in the all the DMV restaurants I've tried. FINALLY, someone who does it right. Thank you! The oxtails were well seasoned, flavorful, and soft falling off the bone. The rice n peas was also soft and flavorful. It certainly hit the spot, satisfied my craving. I look forward to going back and trying their other food options. I recommend you give them a try as well. Support local businesses.

First time we ordered food from here. We ordered curry goat, jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, beef patties, chicken patties, and cocoa bread. The food was good but the owner was very friendly. Their website didn't have their full menu so I'm posting photos of their current menu

I'm new to the Orange New Jersey area and was looking for a good place to grab Caribbean takeout. I stumbled upon d&d Caribbean kitchen on an app and thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the portion was more than generous for the price I paid. I will definitely be frequenting this spot as Caribbean food is a passion of mine!

I ordered the wing dinner and after placing my order and waiting a few min, not long, the cashier came and said someone bought out the wings and asked if I minded regular jerk chicken because the price was the same. I was ok with that. The food was piping hot which I appreciated. I drove to IKEA before eating and it was still steaming hot. I didn't like the texture of the rice AT ALL. It was sticky/stiff and flavorless. The cabbage was decent could have a tad more flavor but decent. The chicken was basically baked chicken. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't bursting with flavor or spicy and didn't have a grilled flavor. Just tasted like regular baked chicken with store bought big box jerk seasoning sprinkled on. For $22 after tax I had high expectations because that's high compared to my usual Just Jerk or Tropicana who always hit. I wasn't satisfied with this and would not be back.

I got the jerk chicken - I read the description on the menu and the word succulent to describe the chicken was right. The chicken was flavorful and fell off the bone. The sweet, caramelized plantain was equally as good and complimented the chicken as did the rice. I spent the first 5 minutes of my meal nodding, in agreement that this was a really good meal. I also couldn't forget to get the Jamaican beef patty. Which was flaky and delicious. And like everyone else said, the customer service was excellent.

I'm VERY picky when it comes to Caribbean food. I tried here just to see & I'm glad I did. Food was amazing, 11/10, will be back again. 4 stars because I ordered (online) ahead of time & still had to wait an extra 20-30 minutes for beef patties to finish cooking. Food is def worth the wait, though.

This is a new Carribean restaurant that has most Jamaican fare. They are fairly new, and the place is very clean with limited seating I was in the mood for ox tail. A lot of places that have it on their menu fail because it's old, or under seasoned. I suggest paying extra $10 for more meat. My sides were stew peas (pigeon peas) and cabbage medley. Rice definitely wow me, fresh rice that was seasoned very well. They give you a heavy portion, so you definitely have a lot for leftovers. Cabbage stew, shredded very nice. Many places have huge chards of Cabbage with no seasonings. Not here. You definitely wanna get some coco bread, $3. Definitely get that. Definitely get some pineapple ginger beer. Definitely get the chicken patty. Good service from Ms. Debbie. Place is far, but worth the drive.

My first time here - it's in the cut on Harrods road Beltsville - got the jerk chicken meal

The meat wasn't as tender as I expected. My partner, however, loved the baked salmon, so I wouldn't mind circling back to try that. It's located in downtown Laurel, so street parking is available. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.
