We went for a 10-piece wing and split the flavors -- honey tangy barbecue and Korean sweet chili. When I tell you that chicken was juicy and crispy at the same time? Perfect crunch on the outside, tender inside. Exactly what Korean fried chicken is supposed to be. And the fries. Listen. I love a good fry. But my son? He is a French fry connoisseur. That child knows fries. If he approves, you know it's legit. He loved them. So that alone tells you everything. Crispy, seasoned just right -- not soggy, not bland, not overly salty. Just good fries. Of course we got extra sauce on the side because if you're doing it, do it right. A little dip, a little drizzle -- options matter. We also tried the rice cake skewers -- two per order, so we did two each. So good. I love a good rice cake, and these hit. I've been blessed to experience different cultures and cuisines, and Korean food is absolutely up my alley when it's authentic and done right -- and this was done right. They've got options too. Parmesan fries, cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese, salads. There's a little Korean section with the pickled radish and kimchi -- yes and yes. The coleslaw? Also everything. It balanced the meal perfectly. You can do boneless or bone-in, but let me be clear: I'm bone-in all the way. It's not a wing if it doesn't have a bone. No disrespect to the boneless crowd -- sometimes it has its place -- but bone-in is elite. Throughout my time dining, there was a consistent flow of deliverymen coming in and out to pick up meals. It was clear that although this place was empty, it was a popular spot for delivery. I ordered their lunch special, which I found to be a great bargain. The meal was only $11.99, which came with five pieces of bone-in wings, rice, and salad. I ate my lunch heartily. For my main dish, I ordered the soy garlic fried chicken. While it was delicious, I found the sauce to lean more on the sweet side, with less of the soy and garlic coming through. It reminded me of a sweet-and-sour sauce and didn't taste the way a sauce like this normally does. The wings: ($25.99 for a 20-piece) I ordered a 20-piece of Medium (Buffalo) and Garlic Parmesan. They both were very crispy and the guests all agreed they were tasty. I personally found the buffalo to be more tasty, because it was a little more moist. I wish the Garlic Parmesan had more of a creamy sauce (see photo - it was more of a fried/drier wing). The popcorn chicken: ($7.49 for a large - my photo shows 2 larges combined) I ordered two larges, and although the breading was thicker and doughier than I anticipated (think: chicken nugget) versus a crunchier, drier texture, they tasted good and actually held up pretty well throughout the night (didn't get too dry). A different waitress brings me the seltzer and basically drops it on the table spilling some of the drink on the table. She didn't apologize for the abrupt gesture, she just turned around and went back to another table. After waiting for 30 minutes for the burger, I call another waitress (this one was friendly at least) and ask the delay, turns out the original waiter didn't even put the order. She talks to him and apologized to me. The burger comes over, but well done, instead of medium. After the two bite check up, I pointed out to the waiter who LITERALLY shrugs and goes to another table. The breading was crispy, and the chicken inside was pretty tender. There was some sweetness, and it had a mild kick, though it wasn't as spicy as I prefer. The fries inside were OK. They had a good crisp to them and a good crunch, but needed a tad more salt. The fry portion was also much larger, so next time, I would just stick with the chicken. The free kimchi was standard and decent. This was a perfectly decent Korean chicken spot. If it were any closer to a Korean neighborhood, I doubt it would be doing well, but there is a distinct lack of Korean places nearby outside of the primarily takeout spot, which doesn't specialize at all in chicken.
