I go for the wings and beer! I will eat the fresh salad! Family and friends order all the other stuff. They love the brisket and ribs. I love the flats of the wings but unfortunately this time only 3 out of 13 were flats...it should 6 or 7 of each. I was definitely sad. Other than that the Bron IPA was fresh and delicious! Dixie was pleasant with our group of four. The vibe was good for early dinner. Would definitely still return and will definitely ask about wings distribution.

As someone whose family is from Tennessee, I have pretty high standards when it comes to soul food and BBQ--and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que absolutely delivered. The meat was tender, flavorful, and smoked just right, and the mac and cheese and sides tasted like real comfort food. The atmosphere had a laid-back, authentic barbecue vibe, and the service was friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about the food they're serving. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Harlem. Highly recommend if you're looking for great BBQ and soul food.

Stumbling into Harlem with friends at 7 PM, this American BBQ place really didn't live up to my expectations. Prime Brisket: A popular recommendation. The meat was grilled until very tender, but not very juicy. All the grilled meats were extremely salty, only slightly alleviated by the Original dipping sauce. The sauce was primarily tomato-based, but lighter and more tangy than regular tomato sauce, with a hint of spiciness and smokiness. Pork Belly: It was served with crunchy pickles, adding more flavor and texture, and helping to cut through the oiliness. St. Louis Rib: Extra $2 for adding to a combo set meal. The ribs were bone-in but grilled until almost falling off the bone; the layer of fat clinging to the bone was satisfying--truly the most perfect part. Pulled Pork: Personally, I think this was the best dish. The pork was grilled until tender and flavorful without being overly salty. Shredded and mixed with the Original sauce, the texture became moist, and the flavor was even fresher. Syracuse Style Salt Potatoes: Simply seasoned with salt, butter, and a touch of chopped herbs--super fragrant. Potatoes can't be bad. Side Salad: I chose a red wine vinaigrette to dress the herbs; there was probably no more whiter dish in the world. As "Uncle Roger" said, white food tastes like sad. Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Strawberry: It was quite sour for most people, but I really liked it~ The water here was a bit unpleasant to drink, with a noticeable chlorine taste, so you might want to order a beverage instead.

This location never disappoints in drinks or the food. While I've been here several times I decided to write about my experience purely off the presentation of the tree ninos platter and great bar service. The bbq was exceptional as always and the drinks did what they are supposed to do.

Came here with friends for lunch. Outstanding! We split the fried green tomatoes appetizer -- perfect. I had the Tres Ninos combo plate: brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, and I got the mac & cheese and fried rice as my sides. Tons of food, delicious, and very reasonably priced for what you get. The server was lovely and the background music was at just the right volume (meaning not too loud, I'm pretty sensitive about that). All and all, it was great, and we'll be back when we're in the neighborhood.

Really fun barbecue in New York City! We were very well taken care of our waiter. He let us have a sampler plate because it was our first time. The chicken wings on that sampler or some of the best I've had in a long time. The ribs were by far the best thing here. So much meat and so easy to rip off the bone. Cornbread was awesome. Loved the baked beans, of course. Really fun spot! Reasonable prices too.

OMG. It's so hard to find really good BBQ in NYC and here it is. I think it's my favorite so far, especially since some of the other good ones are gone. I recommend a reservation. I recommend not going when it's 100 degrees out, because it was 110 inside. But I would definitely go again and get everything. Because it was all so good! And of course, thank you D for having a gluten-free menu also. I love that. I appreciate that. And there were still so many options for me. Yay!

This here is a great spot by the west side highway. Ordered the honey bbq and jerk glaze chicken wings. E&J apple cider (hot drink) was a very nice touch on a cold day. Wings were saucy and tasty. Staff was quick and helpful and place can seat plenty of people. Decor was all wood and fit the food trend right on.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que 700 W. 125th. St. New York, NY 10027 Wango Habanero Wings 1/4 Rack Ribs Cajun Fried Catfish This is with no exaggeration one of the best barbecue establishments I ever explored. Wango Habanero Wings: This is the perfect combination of sweet and spice. 1/4 Rack Ribs: The tender wings fell right off the bone. The sauce was so amazing I wish I could have drank the sauce by the bottle! Cajun Fried Catfish: Even the non-barbecue items are a hit! The catfish was covered with crispy cornmeal and my favorite topping is the black-eyed pea relish. Aside from unbelievably fast service, my server was was friendly and he even recognized me from previous visits. My only regret is that I wish I had ordered larger portions, but there will always be a next time. #dinosaurbarbecue #harlemny #rackifribs #dinosaurbarbecueharlem #wangohabanerowings #cajunfriedcatfish #nycfoodie

I visited Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on Feb 1st to celebrate my birthday. While the experience had some bright spots, it was definitely a "hit or miss" kind of night. The Service & Atmosphere We initially went for the Restaurant Week prix-fixe menu (it was the final day), but we were told they weren't offering it anymore. A bit disappointing, but the staff was so incredibly nice and helpful that it was easy to move past it. Plus, I had cake waiting at home, so skipping the prix-fixe dessert wasn't a dealbreaker! The Food Appetizers: We tried the Creole Deviled Eggs and the Fried Green Tomatoes. The eggs were fine, though they didn't really have any "Creole" flair to them--just your standard deviled egg. The Fried Green Tomatoes, however, were a standout! Perfectly seasoned and paired with a fantastic ranch dipping sauce. Entree (Tres Niños): * The Winner: The Brisket was easily the best part of the meal. It had a beautiful charred crust and great flavor. The Forgettable: Both the ribs and the pulled pork were a bit underwhelming and didn't leave much of an impression. The Sides: The BBQ Fried Rice was a letdown. The menu promised BBQ meats mixed in, but it just contained regular chicken. The Simmered Greens were solid, though. Drinks: I highly recommend the Mock Vice mocktail. It was delicious and tasted just like a dessert.

The layout of this place is very nice as I have reviewed before it has a bar and regular seating area and high top seating so it can accommodate many different groups. The service is always pleasant. Both the servers and the hostesses were very nice. The downside this time was the food I have eaten here before and enjoyed it but this time it was lukewarm to cold at best. The chicken in a three meat platter was pretty good as was the jalapeño sausage, but the brisket, which should be the staple in almost any barbecue place was cold dry And very fatty

I come here frequently and I always enjoy it. I usually order wings as an appetizer. The last time I came the wings were ok. I like the staff, they are friendly and attentive. The food is also good, the wings are usually a great dish they are flavorful and well cooked. I have ordered sliders which are also good. I have ordered nachos and sandwiches. The nachos were good and the sandwich was also good. I have ordered drinks and the drinks are well prepared. The place is lively and a good place for large parties or to be alone.

OMG! This place serves amazing comfort food in West Harlem on the Hudson River. The service was perfect and as was my meal, pictured in this review.

Ask the Community - Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

Do they accept apple pay in person?

Yes they do. You can actually pay through your phone.

Is it possible to arrive with a party of 27 people?

I wouldn't just arrive, call and ask them. You would probably need to make reservations for that amount of people.

Is the meat halal?

I don't think it is. They don't promote it as halal.

How big is the private room? Can you seat 30-40 ppl?

Yes and more the upstairs room is huge perfect for a party privately.

Where can I park?

There is a garage around the corner from us and the address is on the website - It's MTP parking right off the west side highway or on marginal street.

Can you bring a location to Long Island?

We will add it to the list!

Will u be bringing more locations to ny its only 2 her I can't get enough of this place?

There are lots in NY! We have our Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Troy locations upstate and our NYC locations in Harlem and Brooklyn.

Any beef options? My boyfriend and I don't eat pork but it seems like all of the ribs except the Korean one, is pork. Really bummed and upset.

Our brisket is one of our most famous menu items! We have really great burgers as well.

Is it ok to go without a reservation for Saturday early evening (5-6pm ish)?

The above answer from anon is spot on... The only addition is your timeframe. This early in the evening I'd guess you'd have good luck getting seated pretty quickly... ENJOY!!! it's worth the wait!!! Wango Tango Wings!!!!

Ever thought about adding jalapeño poppers to the menu?

Hi Courtney! We will put it into consideration and share your feedback with our team. Thanks for the suggestion!

Seriously, there has to be something wrong with you. My sister is one of the pickiest eaters that I know. Always has been and always will be. She just started eating raw onions several years ago and still doesn't like cooked onions. Even she was able to find something at Jacob's Pickles and it delicious. With regards to the rest of what we ordered, we ordered the Hog In A Blanket as our appetizer and both my daughter and sister ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad. I ordered the Turkey Leg braised in white wine and served with whipped potatoes, Rosemary Biscuit Stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and gravy. The Hogs in a Blanket were their version of Pigs In a Blanket. The major difference being that Jacob's Pickles are served in puff pastry and with their own house made pickles. Yummy! The salmon salad was served with baby greens, sliced oranges, red onion, cilantro and a light orange vinaigrette. Everything and I do mean everything was delicious. It was a gut-buster of a meal and everything was perfectly prepared. The salmon was expertly cooked and the turkey literally fell away from the bone and tendons of the turkey leg. The biscuits and gravy came out in less than 5 mins, you would assume that's great right? Nope, it was still half cold like they just threw it in the oven for 4 mins and hoped for the best. Yeah no...half warm half cold gravy and sausage? Not the best. The smash burger was just burnt, yes i understand the concept of a smash burger you want a crisps to it but you also want meat to bite into just like a regular burger. Fries and pickles were good tho. Thankfully. The lemon chicken was pretty good but def didn't have any lemon taste to it. But that's also a personal preference so I can't knock them down for that. Overall, it's a ok place but nothing wow about them. There's plenty of other places to check out. Oh and our waiter over poured my beer and it was just dripping all over the place. A simple spill out or new glass would've been nice instead of a sticky and slippery glass. Just a thought...

Let me be clear, the main redeeming aspect of this place is the talent on stage. The musicians were exceptional and deserved far better than the environment surrounding them. I ordered a scotch neat, something I'm very familiar with, and immediately knew something was off. When I politely flagged down a waiter, he responded with visible annoyance, as if I was inconveniencing him by being a paying customer. I explained the issue and simply asked if it could be checked or replaced. Instead of addressing it professionally, he walked away without a word, returned holding the bottle and my glass, and said, "this is what you were poured," before carelessly tossing the drink back onto the table. No apology. No explanation. Just attitude. It escalated from there. When I confronted him about his behavior, he denied it outright and then doubled down with an aggressive, confrontational stance, getting in my face and effectively threatening me. His exact words? "If I tossed your drink on the table, it would have been all over you!", and "Man, shut yo ass!" Completely unprofessional and unacceptable in any setting, let alone an establishment that positions itself as upscale. The manager's response was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the behavior of his staff, he blamed me, asking why I "chased" the waiter and suggesting I should have gone directly to him. That's not how basic customer service works. I tried to resolve the issue directly, respectfully, and without escalation, something his employee clearly had no interest in. I was thinking if I talk to the waiter first, he wouldn't get in trouble with his manager. To make matters worse, the manager continued to defend the waiter rather than de-escalate the situation. At that point, it was clear this wasn't a one-off issue; it's a reflection of how this place operates. I paid my bill and left. For a venue that attracts world-class jazz talent, it's astonishing how low the standard of service is. This place is doing a disservice to the artists who perform there. I will never return, and I would strongly caution anyone expecting a professional, respectful experience to look elsewhere.
