I may have set the bar of expectations to high for Wingstop. I was not impressed or blown away. They were basic wings, same I would get at a papa johns or dominos, very basic. They were good, small but good. The fries were great, whatever seasoning they tossed it in. All in all 3.5 stars. I gave this place many chances. I ordered from here many times over the course of about 1 year. At first, everything was great. The food was good, fresh, usually ready when you arrived to pick it up and they made very few errors. However, as time went along, things changed. I always order extra blue cheese and/or cheese sauce. It seemed like almost every time I was missing some when I arrived to pick up my order. Once in a while is understandable, but almost every single time is annoying. Usually, you are handed your order and the person walks away when you are checking it or just ignores you once they realize you are seeking their assistance after opening the bag and realizing there are missing items. Once I ordered a large cheese sauce which is about $4.50. Upon arriving to pick up my order I open the bag to discover I am of course missing something...the cheese sauce. After being ignored for a minute or two, I was finally able to notify the employee that I was missing this item. His reply was "we ran out." I said OK I want a refund. He notified the manager that I wanted a refund for the missing item. The manager walked up to me and said OK. So I said "What do you mean OK, that's it?" She said I'll give you a refund. I said "OK so where is it." She said since I ordered online it is done online. I said ok, I need some kind of receipt show me that you're going to refund me my money. She said there is no receipt. I said that is standard practice everywhere, you issue me a refund and I get a receipt. The manager became irate and annoyed and started to argue with me. I told her she has a lot of nerve. I ordered food that they did not have and they were just going to let me walk out of the place without even notifying me about it or issuing me a refund. My phone number is on the online order. They were just going to not give me what I ordered and take my money had I not checked the order. And now I want a refund and a document showing me you refunded me and I'm the bad guy? After a few minutes of her finagling with the register, she told me I was refunded and I checked my email and I was refunded so I left. I try to be fair about everything, and I will say that the next day I noticed I got a refund for my entire meal without asking for it. I appreciated that. That would have been my last visit there, but this changed my mind. I decided to give this restaurant another chance. This is the only reason I gave them a 2 star rating instead of 1. The last straw was the last few times I ordered there I usually order boneless chicken wings. These things are terrible. You're supposed to get eight pieces in an order, but instead I get about 20 mini pieces. They are so small that you can not even stab them with a fork. It was almost as if they notice it is me and they take advantage of my good patronage by giving me the left over shit pieces when I order. Started out great, disintegrated into bad experiences. I was a good customer who got taken advantage of. When you own a business, you're supposed to give good treatment those who return often. Customer service is okay, My last visit I was hoping for my experience to be a little different than the last time I was there, and for sure it was, but not in a good way. Usually the food is greasy, and that's something I was tolerant of, because it happens. But my last visit was the most unpleasant, and afterwards I felt disgusted. I had ordered an 8 piece combo with fries and a soda. What I got was seriously concerning. I thought I had paid over $10 for this meal, and what I got in return was a plate filled with oil and grease. See the thing with Wingstop is that they make everything fresh to order. I got 10 wings half mild and half hickory BBQ and a roll. They are a non breaded wing deep fried then tossed in sauce - simple and perfect! The mild was buttery and smooth, the BBQ sweet and tangy. I also got a yeast roll it was warm and dripping in honey butter. I know it's a franchise, but I didn't see a tip jar, nor was there a place on the credit card receipt to add a tip, they should at the very least get a tip jar. I will tell you exactly why this is the case, I have figured out your sneaky little secret Wing Stop! This place goes out of their way to cook the wings fresh while you wait. When you place an order, they will even tell you 12-14 minutes. Fresh wings, sounds great right? Nope. Now if you're someone who cooks, you already know that chicken needs to be cooked thoroughly to a temperature of 165 deg to kill any/all bacteria. The only way Wing Stop can fry a fresh batch of chicken wings for each individual customer in under 12 minutes is to choose smaller than average wings, and deep fry them at a higher than normal temperature. And it's because these wings are tiny, and super fried, they lose all their tenderness. They often come out even smaller/dryer with none of the juicy flavor that you might get at a proper restaurant. But Wing Stop isn't a regular restaurant, it's technically fast food. So I have to give it a little leeway and up it to three stars instead of two. That's their sneaky little secret. I have gone to this particular wing stop for 4 years and have had a mix of experiences. When it first opened they were on point. Wings were good and were of a decent size. There was always a crowd but you understood the popularity and it mostly took 18-20 min for your order to get completed. My bf and I at the time would get the Louisiana rub and Smoked hickory bbq, nice contrast of sweet and salty. Cheese fries were a must (they give you the cheese on the side). As years have gone on the wings got significantly smaller. They have changed certain parts of the menu including the amount of wings you can order. The continued deteriorating service is my biggest issue over time. I have had orders messed up including forgetting to give me any sauce for the wings. Also sometimes the girls at the desk can have stank attitudes. As of lately its been hit or miss. read more

After much ranting and raving by my friends about how great the wings were at this place decided to stop by and check it out. They were always raving about how great the lemon pepper wings were so I ordered 10 Cajun wings and five lemon pepper wings. The Cajuns were okay nothing special certainly not good enough to make me drive out of my way to go get them. The lemon pepper wings I didn't like it at all I was looking for a taste similar to what you get when you squeeze lemons over fish but it was not to be. Perhaps they use some generic concentrate lemon juice for the flavoring I'm not sure but I didn't like the way they tasted. The place looks nice on the inside and it seemed to be pretty busy but I don't see what is the big deal about it. You can get wings just just as good or better at one of these local bars. My all time favorite wing spot was a place called Chicken Magician in Somerset New Jersey those wings were rockin! Even the employees didn't understand the setup. I literally waited an hour and a half to get my order. Once I returned to my office to set everything up for my team......the fries and potato salad are missing. No dipping sauce at all and I am missing one of the flavors of the wings. What a disaster!!!! And as only one hub for a very large corporate location in Elizabeth, NJ, with 7 locations all within miles of WING STOP......I will ensure we NEVER order from there again.
