There are only 2 technicians who do good work, when they're off then you have no choice but to pick other technicians that just can't deliver the same quality. Most of the technicians seem to be new at this, they need an additional 30 mins at least to do the same refills and often hurts when taking off lashes. They don't seem to understand people can't respond within 30 mins when they need to reschedule you due technician booked is not available. Not everyone is free all day just to come for lash appt. Unfortunately some of us have a busy schedule, cant come during office hour or the following day or 2 with such short notice. Instead of asking my availability and try to accommodate, they asked if I was seeking to maintain the same refill price passing the time frame. Staff needs some serious communication training. Ok so I heard about Wink Bar from their anime lash style that went viral on tiktok. I live in LA but decided to come here while I was in NY this summer. I asked for a "natural anime" style. I've had falsies that looked better than my results & will NEVER come back here again. I'll run through the main points: * My lashes ended up looking like they were chopped off at the ends, very unlike what I've seen on the advertised Instagram posts so I was VERY disappointed that I paid $186.00 for them! Just like when you get a haircut, there should be some technique to layering the lashes instead of making them look blunt and unflattering. When I brought this up to their IG account, they said "Monolid are difficult to work with, that's why" ... but isn't that what I'm trusting them to do? Especially after they've constantly advertised their expertise in "choosing the right style for your eye shape". * It was a very unwelcoming atmosphere, one of the lash techs quickly glanced at me when I walked in and there was no one at the front desk so it was completely silent. A simple "hello" would have been nice. I've never been there and this was my first time ever getting lash extensions. This was at their new Midtown East location on grand opening day too. * My lash tech (Lia) poked my right eye so many times it was watering non-stop. I brought this up to one of the workers there and he said it was because my "eyes are sensitive". No, it's not only about my eyes being sensitive because it was actually extremely painful, and only on one eye. Please use gentler hands! * Lia didn't take a photo of my lashes afterwards, even though the man on the phone said ALL of Wink Bar's employees are required to do so. I watched 2 clients who left before me get their photos taken. Was it because mine turned out poorly? I asked them about this over the phone afterwards and they said it was because Lia was "tired and must have forgot" and "she didn't eat lunch" that day... ok then maybe don't overwork your techs so they are fully attentive during the session and treat all customers equally! I took a bunch of videos too to show how unflattering they turned out. * They spoke to me in Chinese right off the bat, which threw me off because their Instagram account gives off a completely different vibe. I expressed that I was not the best at Chinese and responded mostly in English, and could honestly barely hear the lash tech talk to me because she was basically whispering. Plus, not every person who is Asian is able to speak/understand Chinese so I'm not sure if they do this to everyone. * I followed all of the instructions and care tips for my lashes, but ~40% of them fell out by day 4. Highly recommend this location over the Flushing one. The girls here are truly amazing. I think I got my lashes filled a month ago. They're still on, didn't experience any lashes falling off until a week and a half later. Showed up and left within the hour. The manga lashes I had looked more natural and better than the ones I got done at their other location. Parking is hard to find here, and they're a little strict on their time courtesy. Around 15 minutes is the max they will give you. It's a very small shop with around 4-5 stations to get your lashes done. Reservations are a must, it is hard to get a walk-in since they're usually booked. They also seem to have a spot for nails. The management is also extremely nice helping us rebook to this location after the little conflict we had at the first location. Honestly i found this place after they blew up with the anime lashes on tiktok / twitter- but not all of the lash artists here are skilled for it. They don't know much english so it was hard to communicate and i just showed them a picture of what i wanted. The price i would say is pretty high compared to other lash salons since i paid around 170. The style was not even close to the one shown in the picture and even worse a lot of my lashes fell out the next day when i woke up which never happens to me with my previous lash tech (who is very meticulous). I was already concerned since they finished my lashes in like 30minutes when it usually takes an hour at least at other places. Too many of my lashes fell out so i called and they said they would refill it for me for free but i had to go back there which took like 30mins extra of my time. honestly i just don't think they know how to complement it on my eye since its now just very spiky and the retouch was very fast as well and not very cared for. Both times I have been here it has been a complete DISASTER and it makes me really sad because I love the look of their lashes so much that I was willing to travel 4 hours. I booked an appointment last week with Hannie and when my appointment was five minutes away, I received a notification that the appointment had been pushed back one hour. I purposely did not book with her because she charges more (rightfully so- she's an expert- but I wanted Hannie). I was charged Joslyn's price (for a classic set instead of hybrid but it's still more expensive than Hannie's hybrid pricing) even though I had not booked with her. Instead of making a stink about this I just let it go but later that same day my top and bottom lashes started falling out. I read in their reviews on Google that if you come back within one week they will fix your lashes for free (since others reported their lashes were also falling out immediately) so I reached out to them and asked for an appointment to get mine fixed. The original appointment was Saturday last week and I scheduled the fix for today (Saturday). The appointment for me was made at one of their other locations with a different tech- I thought nothing of this since I told them what was going on and they scheduled the appointment for me. When I arrived today, they tried charging me to fix my lashes and were very persistent about it- almost to an oddly inspiring extent. I spoke with the techs at their Midtown location as well as with Joslyn who stated that the bottom lashes only last about a week or two- which is totally fine but they started coming off the same day they were put on and I had not touched them, washed them, etc. After this was explained to her, I was told that humidity and the weather can impact how long they last. Y'all... I paid almost $300, I just wanted the left bottom lashes and top right corner lashes to be fixed. In the end, they fixed the lashes that had come off last week and guess what.... One hour after this my lashes are falling out again LOLOLOLOL. Super sad about this. Their designs are so amazing and the techs are all great in the moment but the quality of the work once you leave has not been worth it for me unfortunately. This was at the 13th st location, the lash tech I believe her name was Tatiana did a good job on my lashes. Thank God she was wearing her mask because of the proximity to clients. Unfortunately since the lash tech did a good job my first time but I did not like the location of the 13th st place I decided to give midtown a try. Fiona was terrible, She took over 2 hours to finish a full set of anime lashes, granted I also still had lashes from early September... I don't know why or how because it's been forever and I wear face oils. First she was more like pulling and yanking a few lashes left and even poked my lower lash with her tool I was so mad but this was on my 2nd eye and couldn't walk out with one eye full of lashes and the left empty. I've had lashes removed before it was never this painful it should NOT be Painful and the tech should not stab a person. The second offense was the tech did not wear a mask, I personally don't care if people wear a mask or not but they should be conscious of their oral hygiene if they will not wear a mask and be chatty with the lash tech next to her. I wanted to scream! Her hands were also clammy like she got sweaty. I get it it's a long and tedious job but I would have been perfectly okay with her taking a break and washing her hands prior or midway. They smelled and I was grossed out having her work on my lashes and touching my face. Third and last most importantly my lashes... They look so bad, they are nothing like the anime set I initially had. she took forever and agreed to fix one eye because it was noticeably less full than the other but it still looks bad I got anxious and just said ok I'm done. Well.. I kinda want to share my experience yesterday. While I do think they're talented and their anime effect is so pretty, my appointment yesterday was rather odd. I booked at 1145 at the Union square location at 1115 am, so I was rushing. She told me I have to be on time not even 5 minutes late, so I booked an Uber halfway to arrive timely. I arrive 8 minutes early and I'm waiting... she's not ready until 1155. It's like okay so what was the point of me rushing. Fast forward, she starts doing my lashes, and in her defense I did have to sit up once for a minute or two. She thinks it's because of the glue but it wasn't (language barrier) it was because I get claustrophobia with my eyes shut. It's weird I know that's why I give all my techs the benefit of the doubt. She then goes we need to reschedule.. in the middle of my appointment......... she's like I have someone at 1 and won't finish in time. Like what??????? So I rushed down there, to then leave midway because you had someone coming in at 1. In all fairness, could be a language barrier. I thought it was quite unprofessional and rude. I did sit up for 1 minute like 60 seconds that wouldn't totally offset my appointment time. In fact, she was 10 minutes late to my appointment. She then removed my lashes and said sorry. My first experience was great. I had Joslin did my lashes and I loved them. It was my first time getting lash extensions. My eyes are sensitive and I have an eye condition where I rapidly blink uncontrollably. I obviously can't control it but Joslin helped me relax. When I got lash refills, Joslin isn't available so I had to book through other lash techs. More specifically Hannie and Wen. After a couple of visits of getting refills I completely stopped going. They were very annoyed with my blinking as if I could control it. And I could sense their frustration which made my condition worse. When they were doing other people's lashes next to me, I could clearly hear them talking about me in their language as if I couldn't tell they were talking about me. They would stop talking after my blinking started to stop, which made it very obvious. My last lash refill was with Wen and that is the last time I will ever give money to this establishment. The same thing happened where I couldn't control my blinking and they would talk about me in their own language to each other right in front of me. Mind you, I always tipped because I knew it was difficult to do my lashes. I couldn't take the violation anymore and switched to clusters instead, which worked out in the end because it saved me a lot of money. It was an embarrassing and humiliating experience as a customer, this is the first time I'm crying after a lash appointment. 1. The 50% off on their website only applies to Instagram winners and not first-time customers, and they don't honor the price, nor do they check with you beforehand if you have the "code" or anything. Had they asked me before my appointment to provide whatever was needed for the 50% off this would have been cleared up... Instead it had to become a whole ordeal where the owner/manager/boss who was getting her lashes and taped up took off the tape herself to come talk to me. 2. I've been to the LES location 3 times before, & let me tell you the third time just might be my last. All appointments I had were with Lia but the last time had to be the worst. The most uncomfortable lash set I have ever sat through. First off, she would aggressively turn my head to the side. The last 2 times she seemed to clamp on my eyelid so hard with the tweezers, I kept flinching. Then glue would begin to burn my eyes. When I flinched she told me that I have to relax. MY EYES WERE ON FIRE. I could hear her sucking her teeth when she would mess something up. Also, she kept tugging on the tape they use to lift your eyelid. The second time I went, she actually cut up the inside of my eyebrow from how hard she pulled it. I asked for a natural classic set, which on the website says is $130. But my total came out to about $180 with a tip. Idk what the extra charges were for??? she literally glued the extensions to my eyelids and natural lashes. i left the appointment tugging at the outer corner of my eye because the outer corner lash and my bottom eyelid were GLUED Together. 1 week in, they're are all falling off. I got a stye on both my eyes from the lashes that she glued onto my eyelid (I don't wear makeup & I shampoo my lashes) I just think it was irritation from the glue. NOW I HAVE A BALD SPOT ON MY LASH LINE! My 1st time here my experience was ok. Went for a second time to try out a different style, my lashes didn't last up until 1 1/2. Idk what happened the 3rd time and why I even thought to come again. Also she seems to be the only artist available on Monday mornings on my day off (hence why I kept going to her) To be honest I don't think some of the artists are experienced lash techs here, especially since going viral on tiktok, maybe I'm not going to the right artists. But I have never had lashes be this painful. So disappointed. Wish I had a better experience cause I truly love the anime styles I see them post on social media. read more

I'm always satisfied with my lashes here. However, I feel it isn't cleanly. I hope all the girls sanitize their hands before touching people's eyes. It doesn't smell good in there and a person brought their dog and had it on the bed where everyone lays. Not very sanitary. read more

Haven't gotten my lashes done in ages and have a friend's wedding coming up so decided to get it done Like all the other reviews, the interior is super cute and very clean. I am a first timer here so I was expecting more guidance on choosing a lash style than asking to pull up their ig page. But no worries, they were pretty busy and I found a style that I liked. Was led to one of their beds, side note* their pink blanket is super soft and warm. The tech got right to work. The first 30 mins I felt pretty uncomfortable, got poked a bunch of times but after a little bit, I started drifting off to sleep because the bed, music and atmosphere were peaceful AF. Fast forward 1.5 hrs later, the tech woke me up as she was done. Turns out she glued a couple of my bottom lashes to the top and it was pretty painful to detach, so much poking near the eyes! She had to get help from another employee. They were eventually able to dislodge. From the store to my home (15 min uber ride), I looked in the mirror and found that 2 lashes already fell off & was chilling on my cheek and this dull discomfort on the bottom of my lash line every time I blink, kind of like dried excess glue that is poking at the bottom. On the bright side, my lashes are pretty. Not sure how long it will last but for right now, it's nice with a side of dull discomfort... maybe it was an off day for the tech but I guess I'm still in the search for my go-to place. read more
