I went with a group to a wine and cheese pairing class and it was an unforgettable experience. Melissa, the owner, setup a wonderful selection of wine as we toured the vineyards of various European (and one South American) countries. She was very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm and passion was very apparent as she described each wine and why she was having us taste it that night. Most (all?) of the wines were selected from sustainable and/or organic wineries which was a nice touch as well. We were also provided with a fact sheet that described in each wine, where it was sourced from, the blend of grapes used, how it was aged, etc. Each glass of wine was meticulously paired with its perfect cheese counterpart, which the owner said she purchases from local cheese distributors. The one thing I would recommend for the future is to also include what cheese was paired with each wine. The actual tasting took place in a really cool, early 1900s cellar complete exposed stone and some beautiful Edison lights. I also appreciated the beautiful table plating that made experiencing the wine (even for a newbie like me) very approachable. I loved every second of this experience and already purchased some gift cards for other people in my life to experience as well. Couldn't recommend it enough to others. You'll love it too!

Tried out one of their wine classes in February with a group of people. The check-in experience was all over the place. I watched as fellow classmates were arriving and didn't really know where to go, what to do, how to check-in. Also, when you wait for the class, you have to wait in their store front. There wasn't really direction on that part either. When the class started, we were escorted down to the cellar. It is a beautiful place. There is stone, and wood, and a tv fireplace. It is pretty stellar in the cellar. The cellar was set with places for all, with 6 wine glasses, poured with what you would normally get at a wine tasting at a winery. There was also a slate of cheese and bread products. A sheet of all the wine was given to the class, and upon further review I learned that the bottles were all under $20. One was even from a can. The cheese was good, however, the owner would not divulge where it came from. I'm betting it came from Wegmans. For $45 it was not worth it, and overpriced. I could go with that money to multiple wineries in Niagara County and have a good time. It was very disappointing. I'm giving two stars because of the ambiance.

Went to one of the wine tastings here. Fun thing to do in the city. The options were good but not great. Cheese plate was a winner.

I've passed it several times, but this was my first time experiencing it. Cool concept where you build a charcuterie board from a buffet line of cheeses, crackers, and meat options. They were all really good and the different pairing options like honey, peppers, jams made it even better. The pepper guy was good. He had a variety of heat levels and I particularly enjoyed the tanginess of the Awaken the Dead and the graduated heat of the Sting of Ancients. Due to the versatility of the Awaken I did purchase that one. The Daughters Dumplings has a great family story and everyone seemed to really enjoyed the fried dumpling. I took mine home to steam as she suggested and they ARE very good. I used my tangy pepper sauce on them and it paired well. My favorite of the four was Natalie's Tamales. They apparently were a last minute addition and I'm so glad they were. Owned by a sweet lady who puts actual love and care in her food. I like tamales, but I LOVED her tamales. Absolutely delicious! You must try them for yourself and follow her on Instagram. Ambience is modern, Instagramable, full wine bar, open meeting space with screen available for presentation and small kitchenette area. I'll be back for a girl's night, event or date night.

They have a nice variety of wine, something for every palette as well as a light kitchen menu. The service here so far has been superb. Every staff member I've met has been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. To top it off they have some really cool and unique events. Including on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-7 they offer an aperitivo. Grab a bar seat and $20 gets you a glass of wine and a pre-selected menu of light bites. It was the perfect girls night and was more food than anyone expected. It was a fun surprise to see what kept coming out of the kitchen. Super fun, different and every bite was fresh and delicious! As I don't consume cheese, the wine connoisseur took it upon himself to find an appropriate non-dairy match for me, and did a phenomenal job with it. From the grilled portabella mushroom caponata with a Canadian Pinot Noir, to the sweet maple syrup drizzled figs with a little lemon with a local blackberry wine, or the channa masala to compliment the sweet Californian Riesling, every bite and sip was a harmonious marriage. ‍‍ The service was phenomenal and that alone makes visiting this winery worth it, a long with the educational value offered. The staff is very knowledgeable on different wines and also has that skill of disseminating the information effectively to better educate its customers. Even though we have visited a few wineries and vineyards in the US and abroad, I would take this one to be in my top 3 experiences. The tasting room is also clean and well set up. I would highly recommend visiting Ten Thousand Vines if you are from the area or visiting to try some of the phenomenal wines from WNY.
