I saw Dr Winkler for an initial consultation this week. He prescribed Flonase for my problem. After receiving Flonase I read the insert and saw that it was contraindicated for my eye problem-glaucoma- and should not be used. Called the office and was told to call my ophthalmologist to deal with the issue. If I hadn't read the info I might have done harm to my eyes. First and last appointment with this doctor. Read your patient's intake form where I stated I had glaucoma! read more

Had a nightmare experience. Wouldn't trust this guy with a ham sandwich. Went in for a routine surgery and woke up to realize he decided to add on an 2nd procedure that was unnecessary and has left me with lasting complications. I went back to tell him my concerns and he told me it was no big deal and charged me another $550. read more

Dr. Winkler gave our family outstanding surgical and post-operative care. His medical care and the level of communication with our family was extraordinary. Coming from Canada, we have never before experienced this level of care and communication from a surgeon and the team. Dr. Winkler provided our family with a thorough and informative pre-operative phone consultation as well as detailed in- person pre-operative consultations for our children. He listened carefully to our concerns, took detailed medical histories and discussed all our concerns with us with skill, patience, professionalism, grace and humour. He engaged our children with the perfect balance of information and humour, and helped them feel full confidence in his care in advance of the surgery. The surgery went perfectly and was conducted with an excellent team, with no complications, and no surprises, and to our great relief, our children had fun with the nurses and other staff. Dr. Winkler followed up with our family on our children's recovery in every possible way: in person, providing an update on how the surgery went and answering all of our questions; by phone post surgery; by text to check in with us regularly and answer any follow up questions. He was always reachable and provided us with a 24 hour number to reach him in the unlikely event of an emergency post surgery. Recovery went without issue, but we were very thankful for his daily follow up as both children recovered simultaneously away from our own country. As we were required to travel from out of country in order to obtain crucial surgery to treat our two children in a timely fashion, his care, excellent surgical practice and follow up meant so much to us. As an example, Dr Winkler accommodated our special circumstances by booking back-to-back surgeries for our children. The front office staff (Wanda!) was also exemplary - patient, informative, cheerful, communicative, accommodating and organized. Thank you. Dr. Winkler figured out what was wrong with me and fixed it - after other ENTs had given up. I was getting one sinus infection after another and was beginning to lose my hearing. Dr. Winkler immediately took action to arrest my hearing loss and to perform balloon sinuplasty and turbinade reduction to stop all the sinus infections. As a result, I no longer get colds (ever!) and my hearing is now protected - I'm a new person! I have recommended Dr. Winkler to many friends and family and each has been very impressed. read more

I am a 17 year old Honduran boy who had severe problems in the nose.Started as a kid with a deviated septum and as time passed this created other problems .I was told I needed a surgery and I was recommended Dr.Winkler. I came all the way from Honduras so he could fix my nose. He was an excellent doctor with a lot of experience and with a very good staff.After I had the surgery he was always attentive to my recovery willing to help me in everything I needed.A week has passed by now and my life is bad to normal, i have a new nose and a new life. Dr. Winkler is terrific - an expert in his field with a personal, high touch approach. I had enlarged tonsils needed a tonsillectomy. The surgery went perfectly, my recovery was exactly as Dr. Winkler told me it would be. What impressed me about Dr. Winkler was his regular check-ins post surgery. Dr. Winkler is an incredibly accomplished specialist who takes great time and care to ensure his patients understand their diagnosis and the treatment path forward.
