Personally, I find The Home Depot and Lowes way too overwhelming and loud. At Lincoln Creek, I feel like I'm walking into the hometown hardware store that I went to with my dad as a kid. With a smiling greeting at the door, a "what can I help you with" attitude, and a friendly, good-natured personality ... Lincoln Creek has it down. Sure, their prices can be a wee bit higher than those mentioned above. However, the staff is very kind and helpful. They all know where items are and don't need to "call" anyone to figure out which aisle something is in. Their selection is pretty darn good for not being a big box store, with me finding pretty much everything I need at each visit. Sometimes they don't have what I need, but it's rare that I can't find an alternative. The best part of the store is Larry and the paint department. Larry is the paint master, being able to match colors perfectly and tinker with the formulas to make them work. They stock B. Moore which is even better. Lastly, they have a very large Lumber department in which you can find most anything that you need. The only section that needs some love and is routinely lacking is the garden/plant section. Their selection of plants, flowers, etc. is pretty sad. All in all though, Lincoln Creek is our first stop. I like it. The kids like it. It's a safe, good place to go. They will keep on seeing our faces there.

I have been there 3 times in the last month to buy fire logs. Only once did a young man ask if he could help and carried the box of 12 out for me. Today I purchased 36, sliced my finger open while loading them into the cart, stood in line waiting while my finger dripped and finally the cashier called to the back to bring out a bandaid. The jerk that brought it out, big guy that has been there for years...didn't even offer to help with the logs. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Walking in, you're immediately greeted by whomever is working and respectfully asked if there is something you need help with. This is appreciated and valued because it's done in a way that doesn't come off as intrusive or annoying (as sometimes it can be felt that way at other stores). Anderson's prides itself as being a hometown store, having a good selection of what's needed, and providing high quality customer service. They might not be big in size, but they have a lot of products that you can't find at other big box hardware stores ... along with big sized care and commitment to finding what you need. Today I went in there, chatting it up with Samantha (who was absolutely amazing btw) she showed us where their vegetables were & talked to us about our ducks. Went to pay & told them I'm using my dads credit card, they asked me for his social which I don't know off the top of my head and have never had to use it before. I told them I'd give him a call. Shannon started freaking out saying I was trying to steal (I was only buying dog food for my dads dogs) I told her I wasn't trying to steal dog food. Ended up paying is cash because Shannon was telling me I was lying and I was never allowed back. This was so weird and something I have never encounter before. We've bought all our feed from them and even livestock but we will never be back. Shannon was the worst type of human I have ever seen and she came at me and made me feel so uncomfortable for no reason. Just trying to buy dog food lol. The only reason they got two stars is because of Samantha. She really deserved all 5 but Shannon was so horrible to us that was ruined. Not only understaffed, but, the staff never acknowledges anyone. I was in last week, there were six people in line and one employee. He was going into great detail with the person at the counter. The people in line were growing highly irritated, they were talking loudly amongst themselves about how awful it always is in there. Not once did the clerk look up and say something like "Hey everyone, I'm all alone and doing my best. I'll be with you as soon as I can" anything would have been better than nothing at all. One person said "See, he must be used to this because he's acting like he can't even hear us". With zero exaggeration, I've been in this store at least six times and it's been the same every time!! At the price of paint and the volume of business, there's no way they can't afford more help. Maybe they don't realize that if they hired one more person, it could greatly increase their bottom line dollars. I really wish I didn't love their paint! Home Depot is next door and always super fast in their paint Dept....Unfortunately, their paint doesn't compare. Ugh!

The store primarily carries lab-grown diamonds, mostly in the VS2 clarity range, typically 1-3 carat solitaire styles. We were told VS2 is considered "very high quality," but there were no diamonds available above VS1 clarity (lab or natural). The natural diamond selection was especially minimal. When we asked more in-depth questions about cut quality, fluorescence, and depth ratio, all factors that impact how a diamond presents and sparkles, the responses were vague and at times inaccurate. We were told that cut quality and fluorescence don't really affect how a diamond sparkles in the sun, which is not correct. When I mentioned depth, the associate quickly changed the subject & seamed to have no knowledge of this or its importance. I also asked to compare diamonds with and without fluorescence to see if I could personally notice a difference, since fluorescence can affect pricing. The associate said the information should be in the paperwork but never pulled documentation for the diamond we were considering. That lack of voluntary transparency raised concerns for us. It felt as though either the staff was not trained in deeper grading details or the information simply wasn't being shared. Either way, when you're making a significant purchase, full grading transparency matters. I'm interested in an emerald cut tri-stone ring with a natural center diamond. I wasn't expecting them to have any emerald tri-stone inventory, but there was only one tri-stone option in the store, and the three stones were nearly the same size, which didn't give the tri-stone look you normally see. Most inventory leaned heavily toward trendy, mainstream lab-grown solitaire styles. To their credit, they did have a good range of carat sizes available in lab-grown solitaires, which allowed me to compare proportions easily on my finger. They also had emerald cuts in different sizes, which was helpful for visualization. The lab-grown diamonds we viewed (around 1-2ish carats, E-H color, VS2 clarity) were priced around $3-$4k give or take, which seemed generally aligned with market pricing based on what info they were willing to disclose. The associate then showed us a .6 natural solitaire that was around H/I in color & SI2/3 clarity and said this was still a high quality diamond! Inclusions were clearly visible w/out microscope & it was clearly cloudy/milky, and then she said you couldn't see any inclusions..it felt very gas-lighty. I would strongly encourage buyers to carefully review grading paperwork for cut metrics, depth %, fluorescence, & overall proportions before committing, & if you don't know what these are, EDUCATE yourself so you're not tricked! We understand that what I want will likely need to be custom ordered, and my BF is prepared to work with a jeweler to source stones and design a ring. However, we're looking for someone who can confidently explain how clarity, color, cut, depth, and fluorescence impact both appearance and price. Overall, this may be a suitable option if you're looking for a mid-to-low-range lab-grown solitaire and aren't concerned with deeper grading metrics. For us, it served as a somewhat helpful try-on experience but not the right fit for a higher-end or custom diamond purchase. Because the staff was polite and gave us their time, I am giving 2 stars, but we will be purchasing elsewhere and will not work with them in the future.
