This Winn Dixie isn't much bigger or better than the godawful one near my home in Largo, FL. The only big difference beside the general layout of the store revolves around the town/city where we are now. First off, the beer selection is monstrous. Whaddiya expect from a grocery store across the street from the beach, after all? As one can imagine, the other thing that makes this store different is the total overcrowding of stuff in there. What do I mean? They offer beach supplies, T-shirts, beachwear and all that kind of stuff in addition to groceries. Huge ice machine right next to the beer cooler that takes up an entire side wall. I know the one aisle where the beer coolers were took up more refrigerator space than the entire dairy department. I know I'll never shop there again as we don't plan any more vacay time in the World's Most Famous Beach...from now until the cows come home. Speaking of which, isn't this the home of the so-called "Beef People"? Well, as the famous ad put it over 40 years ago..."Where's the Beef?" I know where the beer and the styrofoam coolers are. I also know that the Queen Bee and I couldn't find what we went in there for either. They say Aldi has bought out the company that owns WD. Is that what they mean by a Winn-Win? read more

Terrible experience , very disorganized , no leadership, no customer service experience.Very rude and was told not to shop there by an employee representing WD . Completely unnecessary, with proper training any employee representing a company would know not to be rude and condescending to customers . What happened to this place? , I've been shopping there since the 1980's . It's a shame this company has gone so far down hill. Courtesy and kindness cost nothing and help in any situation .Hopefully they will make a minimal effort to improve . One thing we all have control over is our attitude. Came here to get some snacks before the hurricane hit, and was met by a truck club in the parking lot. It was pretty interesting, and fun watch. When we went into the store, I expected the staff to be disgruntled due to the truck show outside. But they were kind, so very nice, and attentive. It was easy to see they took pride in their store, it was immaculate. They had larger selections, and varieties of items than most stores. To me, the produce stood out the most, as they carried some vibrant fruits, and interesting looking vegetables that I've never seen before. read more

Just went to the store for the first time it might say it was like a disaster. The store looks nasty the workers were very unfriendly and I got to admit it looks like a bunch of trailer trash does nothing but come to the store. We have been going to Publix all this time that we've lived here and thought we would give it a try and I can tell you this will never be back. read more

It was busy and mostly self check lanes. Reluctantly I acquiesced. The produce codes pain in the neck ,very time consuming when clerks have that memorized. A case of beer had to lift out of cart to scan where clerk would have used a scanner. Return beer to cart as the Menacing voice @ register tells me put the case of beer on baggage area. Asked clerk for courtesy scan as I bought sale items. It didn't. Then to front desk I go to get my $5.30 back. They could have rung me up there and my experience would have been more pleasant. Their french bread from bakery is good but it just seems like a tired store. Most of the time at Publix they will ask if I need help with groceries to car. Winn Dixie never does. Publix automatically takes savings off . Winn Dixie has to be asJed,but they have lousy French bread! So there you go you decide! I probably won't return unless French bread beckons me. read more

On vacation in the area, i've visited the store a couple of times the last couple of days and all initial encounters with different employees have been less than welcoming until showing my Identification which shows I'm AD military. This morning topped all visits, the bakery personnel was extremely rude and continued to make very disrespectful comments as if i wasn't close enough to hear. I asked if I could write out what was going to be put on the cake that i was purchasing and the manger said "well apparently i can't spell". The name that was going to be put on the cake isn't written the way it sounds, which is why i asked if i could write it out for them. The employees were three older ladies having at it behind the counter as if customers weren't there. When i spoke to the manager about her and her employees being rude she told me they were talking to each other, not about me. Their customer service was terrible, and if they hate their job so much maybe it's time to find a new ones. read more

I've been to the El Caribe across the street from this Winn-Dixie for the past three summers with my church group. We always shop at this store (mostly because it's so close) and they're always great. The staff is very friendly, the prices are good and they have pretty much whatever you need. It isn't easy to accommodate hundreds of teens running through your store to buy soda and pop tarts, but these guys manage every time. Solid 4.5 read more

please notify management that winn-dixie daytona beach shores, florida grocery store is an absolute failure! the last shopping trip (7/7/22) i went online & redeemed a free container of ice cream (before i went shopping) which was given me by winn-dixie for my birthday...and ....when i went thru the cashier....he told me the discount (free) was taken and it was not....so....i went to customer service....and asked for a credit for the ice cream....and she told me that the redemption system was down and instead of crediting the ice cream....she charged me for it again....so....i had at that point paid for this free birthday ice cream twice....when it was supposed to be free!....so i had to call and ask the manager to credit my card (which she could not do....so she mailed me a gift card) which she acted like i should be thrilled about! then today....7/14/2022, i went grocery shopping, and this is one of several times that i have gone online prior to grocery shopping and pre-selected digital coupons....and when the cashier rings up my order....the discounts are not taken. i used my home computer and logged onto my account and pre-select the digital coupons i will be using at my shopping trip (the next day)....and they are not being deducted once i have checked out. i have made it a point....once i have paid for my groceries....to pull the cart over by customer service....and go thru the receipt and point out the discounts that should have been taken (pre-selected digital coupons) and were not deducted. then....the customer service person had me find the items (2 starbucks double-shot coffees) which i purchased which i was supposed to have received a $1 discount (and did not). so....since i had purchased $235.18 worth of groceries at this trip....i had to pull out about 25 bags to look for these 2 cans of starbucks double-shot coffee) so that she could give me $1. this is ridiculous! why do you offer digital coupons....if you do not give the customer the discount when the items are purchased at the register? then....i got home and was shucking my 6 ears of corn on the cob and half of the ears of corn were rotten. i will be reporting this winn-dixie daytona beach shores, florida location to corporate...since this store has no care for customer service....and is going downhill f a s t !!! shame on you winn dixie for cheating your customers out of the digital coupon benefit you should be giving and shame on the lazy employees who take no pride in their work ethic....to sell rotten produce to unsuspecting customers! former customer of winn dixie daytona beach shores, fl location and ...then.....i was not able to submit this complaint online to the winn-dixie location at daytona beach shores, florida....since their 'contact-us' online form does not work..... i kept getting the following error: failed oops! something went wrong. please try submitting again later. what a crap store! i will be going to the news media to further crush your store!!! read more

My biggest complaint was the store had horrible lighting making it look dirty. Other complaints include another customer who wouldn't stop trying to sell me on her weight loss program (I didn't go to the store to get lectured on my weight) and the staff wouldn't acknowledge me, even through checkout they talked about drinking and partying. read more

The complete staff is very friendly, the prices are excellent and they have virtually whatever you may need. The buy one get one free deals and in store discounts are by far the best prices in Florida. ( especially, since its in the heart of the tourist zone.) Furthermore, it's clean and well lighted. I am loving Winn Dixie every time we step in. read more

Pretty bare basic grocery store. There wasn't a lot of selection but the staff was friendly and polite.

The winn dixie on beachside might not offer what publix stores do, but it is a great store. Good meats and produce, and the friendliest staff. I live closer to Publix and travel to winn dixie because of the great people working there, and since it is a smaller store it is much easier to navigate! read more

This store is awesome! Well-stocked, and the staff and manager are very responsive and accommodating. I wanted to purchase some TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets, and they were out of stock. We were leaving in a few days, and the manager (Robert) very kindly coordinated with his TastyKake person and arranged for me to pick them up the day we left.
