This Winn-Dixie is always well stocked with lots of healthy options and fresh meats to choose from. The staff makes shopping a pleasure.

I have never been one to shop at Winn Dixie. When I go to them, it's usually because I'm passing one and only need a couple of items. That's the case with this one. My chiropractor is in the same shopping plaza, so I pop in here every now and then to grab a few things because it's easy. I gave this Winn Dixie 4 stars because it is a larger one and is always clean. Most of the employees have been friendly, but there have been a few times I've been in and I've seen some grumpy faces. Kind of a grump world we are living in a lot of the time right now, so I can't really say I blame them. No one has ever been rude to me, so I try to give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have crap days. So why don't I shop at Winn Dixie on the reg? I'm a Publix snob. LOL Yep, that's the reason. I've also gotten really into ordering my groceries from Kroger and having them delivered. This is a nice Winn Dixie though. Can't really say anything bad about it. When I first moved to Florida back in 2001, Winn-Dixie was probably my go-to supermarket. At the time, the big three were Winn-Dixie, Publix and Albertson's. Well, Albertson's has fallen to the wayside here in the Sunshine State and we have had companies like Sprouts, Aldi and others plant their flags here in Florida and expand their presence here in sunny Florida. In addition to Albertson's disappearing here in Florida, Winn-Dixie sadly slipped significantly in quality and I found myself going less and less. The saddest decline, at least in my opinion, was in their meat department. Winn-Dixie once proudly called themselves "The Beef People," but somewhere along the way, their meat department started relying more and more on meat that was not USDA graded, but merely inspected. This is a sign of inferior beef. The USDA grading system grades their beef and you should only consider USDA Choice or USDA Prime (USDA Prime is the best until you start dealing with Wagyu and Kobe). Well, I am happy to report that Winn-Dixie finally noticed the error of their wzus and took steps to fix their past transgressions and they are now putting an emphasis on their USDA Choice graded Meats. They sadly still have these merely inspected beef, but I would avoid them at all costs. The store is clean and bright and generally this makes shopping all the more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this particular Winn-Dixie. It is great to see that Winn-Dixie has gotten back on track again and this location is a good representation of this iconic supermarket chain (hey, they even had a book named after them about a child and their dog). Five stars is my overall score. read more

Nice big store. Being from out of town and coming from an area where there is limited selections or just depressing places that call themselves supermarkets, I am impressed with the first impression there is when walking in. It was easy to find what I was looking for. Self check out was quick and since this is Florida there are still bags to help you bring your goods home in. Since I wasn't shopping to load up a fridge I cannot comment too deeply about the overall selection of food. However, the place feels fresh and clean, and I would be happy to live next to here. read more

I've shopped at this store for 4yrs for a few specific items. Today a rude employee Dana approached me about chicken wings and my container which I now know I was using correct container. Continue to following me around store for a few items 6 . Then I went to self checkout, she ran over telling me she wanted to help me.. grabbed the wings told me I couldn't have bucket price and I had to pay by weight! I told her to take the wings ... thought to myself I'm not going to have a controversy over "wings"... then I was told she was throwing me out of store screaming... I'm a 65 yr old woman, successful and retired. I've never experienced anything like this unprofessional, obnoxious employee. I left store wasn't going to engage with this clearly disrespectful, distributed individual. Called two managers and corporate all told me she was a front register person not a manager and I was not in wrong with container as well as she had no authority to throw me out of store! I will not return again to this store. Dana Mengel should never be in a position of dealing with the public or customer service. This store has always had helpful, friendly employees including the bagger and kind persons who will help you to your car. Sad situation and completely unacceptable and unnecessary. read more

This is the closest Winn Dixie near me, I'm about a five minute drive away from it. It's one of the places I frequent when I need something quick. It isn't the nicest Winn Dixie, it's seems very old and could probably use an update. I come here mostly for the self serve hot bar when I'm craving something. I absolutely love their Nashville chicken tenders. Unfortunately, the opening/closing/availability of the hot bar seems to be a little wonky. Today I came in at close to noon and only a few things were available. I was surprised as this is usually the lunch hour and the hot bar was barely ready for service. It also seems to close for the day very early. One day I came in at 4pm and it was completely closed, I was disappointed because I was so looking forward to those Nashville tenders. I've been to the Winn Dixie on Wheelhouse Ln a few times and the hot bar is always stocked and fresh whenever I visit. Other than the hot bar issue, I don't have any other complaints. The employees have always been friendly and nice, although I did have an experience with one of the customer service ladies when I tried to make a return. I hate returning perishable foods but I had bought a bag of chicken tenderloins and they tasted absolutely vile. The customer service lady made a snide comment about how the bag was open and "I clearly ate some of it." I was like yeah that's why I'm returning because the meat was tough and inedible, and the bag was still 3/4 full. Instead of returning back to my card, they opted for store credit, which I didn't really want but better than nothing. I love the BOGOs the store frequently has, and although their selection is pretty limited here, they usually have what I come for. The young men who work self checkout are always nice and friendly and ask if I found everything okay. Props to them for the great attitude. read more

I love how big this Winn Dixie is with wide aisles and tons of choices. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. I was looking for the in store bar I saw advertised but discovered that's the other Winn Dixie on Wheelhouse Dr. Still, I like this store. However, parking can be a nightmare because there are so many businesses in this plaza. read more

Yesterday, Jasper found my wallet. I had left it in the shopping cart after I checked out. I didn't know that I had lost it until about an hour later. I called the store and they said yes it is here. First of all, they have my tooth paste. And publix does not. Second, the gal in the flower department has made me customized bouquets at no extra charge. Third, they have a reverse osmosis station for my water tower. I mean- every store has food and what not, but this place has serious service. During the hurricane, they had ice!!!! We looked everywhere! The manager helped me at customer service with lottery tickets and offered up some free scratch off ticket holders. Very nice touch! I didn't even have to ask- she asked me if the scratch offs were gifts! Overall, the Store is clean. Lots of selection. Plenty of parking. They also have the Plenti rewards system. read more

I just showed up to this location today at 8:45pm and the front doors were closed and blocked by an automatic scooter for disabled people. I don't understand the logical reasoning of closing an hour and fifteen min before your store is listed to close. Awesome grocery store. Very clean and organized. When you walk in you can smell all the aromas from the various departments where baking and cooking is taking place. Shelves are stocked full. There's a huge variety of fresh salads, and a self-serve hot bar with a nice variety of items ie: pot roast, mashed potatoes, brisket, and more. There's also a hot section with a variety of wings. The staff is always friendly, pleasant and polite. (Note to Manager: Please ENFORCE the plastic glove rule for handling utensils. I see people not using the provided gloves and I've never seen the food employees say anything even though they clearly see it happen.) read more

Time was when this would be the most convenient WD for me because of work. I remember them as being one of the first ones to have an upgraded wine feature, and the store looking more spiffy than your usual WD. That was then - maybe 10 years ago, 12? Store is now showing signs of age - even the lighting seems lack-luster. On a recent quick visit, I was not able to find what I was looking for that was on sale: crunchy peanut butter. Why is this dump of a store in this neighborhood? It's right next door, but I'm going to have no problem going to Publix from now on. Rude worker didn't even acknowledge me when I told her the frozen section foods were soft and defrosting. Bought smoked turkey legs and organic avocados. The Turkey was ROTTEN and smelled so bad. The avocados were also rotten. That's the last $11 Winn-Dixie will ever get from me. Gross. read more

I was in Winn Dixie for the 1st on a visit to Lake Mary Florida on 9/13/2023. I was happily greeted by Michelle who was very pleasant and helpful. I have been to other big name grocery stores, and their employees have made me feel like a burden. Michelle was happy to help and never gave me that burden feeling. Dangerous place. Initially seemed fine. Covid-19. Walk in and there is a young woman sanitizing carts. Over the speakers are reminders to keep distance. Seems good. Employees not wearing masks and getting way too close even in non-pandemic times. Talking to them it seemed they didn't know about the pandemic and they just didn't care. Oh dixie...you have stolen my heart in a mere 5 days. I moved to Lake Mary, FL for work a few days ago and needed a few things. I'd never heard of your fine establishment, which I will now dub "The Dix", but the mention of cheaper prices than the 50 other supermarkets in the area drew me in. I purchased an overflowing cart full of goodies, spent a cool $200, and was pleased with all of your name-brand products. But it wasn't until today, when I stopped by a neighboring supermarket called Publix that was just down the street, that I knew how lucky I was to have discovered you. After checking out thought the "10 items or less" line at Publix, only to find out my bill was $70, I knew I had been a victim of the over-priced, over-hyped, mainstream supermarket. Well, I say F-them! I will proudly sport your frequent shopper card on my keychain because from now on, I'm a dixie girl! read more

I love grocery stores in general. Winn Dixie is not my favorite but they do have great sales from time to time. I find it needing a make-over. That being said, Winn Dixie has something no other local grocery stores have. A hot wing bar All kinds of flavors If you get there at the right time you can get a bucket of fresh wings. I have always had a great experience here. They have always been totally understanding of a toddler messing up a shelf or breaking a carton of eggs, really whatever I have needed, they always jump at the opportunity to help me. They have good buy-one-get-one sales especially for school snack options. Produce always fresh. And I highly recommend the bakery for birthday and special occasion cakes. Sooo much better and less expensive than other stores. read more

Such a wonderful new design and lots of new fresh prepared offerings; all quite tasty and all brought to you by a dedicated, friendly and pleasant staff. Always managers around who say hello and ask if there is anything they can do better. Such a wonderful pavilion of fresh foods adjoined by a traditional food market for everything else.
