Every time I come in the store, there's somebody with an attitude. I am glad they're proposing it to turn into an Aldi. Someone in management really needs to speak to their front team at the self checkout. Whether they're having a bad day or not, they shouldn't be gruff to customers. read more

I just have to give a huge shoutout to Daniel and the amazing team at Winn-Dixie! My family flew in from out of town, and we ended up arriving at the store just 10 minutes before closing. Most places would have already locked the doors or rushed us out, but not this store. Daniel welcomed us in with a big smile, handed us a cart, and immediately reassured us by saying, "Don't rush." That small gesture instantly eased our anxiety. He went above and beyond--helping us find what we needed, bagging our groceries with care, and making sure we left with everything we came for. And he did it all with kindness and a smile! We tried to tip him but he wouldn't accept it-he was just operating from his kind and self-less nature Customer service like this is rare these days, and Daniel truly made a lasting impression. Out of all the Winn Dixie's in the state, this is my go-to. Not only that they always have everything in stock, but it's also clean and the workers there truly enjoy their job. They get along with everyone they work with and it shows in their work ethic. Besides the grocery store with local discounts, they have a Tap Room which makes grocery shopping a lot more exciting when you have a beer in your hand! $3 for any draft pint and you can use your Winn Dixie reward points to get free drinks too! 300 points. A new grocery store in these Covid days - who woulda thunk? If it weren't for flyers, I wouldn't have known. To be precise it was the lamb rack at $9 and snapper at $3 that drew me there the weekend after opening. So this new WD is at the SE corner of Lake Mary Boul and Longwood LM Rd. Coming north, there's a turn into the mall without having to deal with LM Boul traffic, which was my fear - very convenient! WD hit the jackpot as part of the good-sized mall that has everything from restaurants to a bank; it depends on all the newly- built housing units to its south, from which it will suck, i mean DRAW, its life blood. Time will tell if this business model works. Brand new shopping cards that roll like skates, plentiful staff, what's to not like. Well, how about not having the stuff you advertised, like the rack of lamb? Or, having enough staff behind the counter, and a system of some sort, where you sell the meat and seafood, so that I can pick up a couple of snappers I may want? It's not without basis that I see a fight, verbal or otherwise, between/among customers (not wearing face masks) at that very spot in the coming days. I left with one solitary item after a 20-minute visit and lots of photos, having done my Yelpic duties. I wish them (and all the other shops there) the very best. read more

I have never been a big fan of Winn-Dixie, mainly because their store are always dingy and their customer service is subpar at best. But over the last few years Winn-Dixie has been stepping up their grocery store game. The way they have been leveling is by revamping their entire approach to what it is to be a good grocery store chain. They have remodeled most of their stores and have started training their employees better so they can provide that top notch customer service that you usually expect from a store like Publix. With all that said I am starting to appreciate the attention to detail that Winn-Dixie is giving their stores and to their customer service that they bring to their customers. In this particular Winn-Dixie they have a Tap-House Bar that is located with in the store, where you can oder yourself a beer or a fancy drink like a long Island Ice Tea get a little tipsy then continue with your grocery shopping. Having a bar inside your local grocery store is pretty lit, it also offers Winn-Dixie another revenue stream to bring in more money and make new customers. I would have to say the only draw back to having a bar inside a grocery store is that you would have to deal with stupid & annoying drunk people while your trying to shop for your groceries. So if your looking for a grocery store that provides good customer service and a place where you can get your drink on while picking up your groceries then check out the Winn-Dixie the next time you are either visiting or driving through Lake Mary Florida. read more

This new Winn Dixie in Lake Mary this week. Being that it's new, everything seemed clean and bright. However, aisles are VERY tight, which is not great, especially in the age of COVID-19. The new feature they're tauting is a taproom/coffee bar in the middle of the store. This seems such an odd feature for the chain. But there were quite a few people frequenting it while I was there. Parking was limited and I'm not sure if that's because the store just opened or if there are just not enough spaces for this growing plaza with lots of businesses. I'll be sticking to my normal Fern Park store but check it out if you're interested in the new beer/coffee bar. read more

Overall, I like this location and will continue to shop here. The boutique feeling is nice, as is the newness of everything. They offer good deals and I am almost always greeted by someone here, which is quite rare these days. That said, I have brought home mushy, inedible sushi for the second time. I bought the first might have been an off day, so I returned to try one last trey. Like many in my neighborhood, we frequent $5 sushi Wednesday's. It's a great deal, there's a sushi chef on-site and the food turnover is high. But today I opened a crunchy cali roll and not one ingredient that should have been crunchy - like the cucumber and the actual crunch topping - had texture. I find anything like this when it's related to fish very alarming. Idk if the roll just sat there all day or if the ingredients weren't fresh, but what I do know is that I'll never take the chance again. I'd go as far as to say the roll felt slimy to me. First time seeing a bar within a grocery store and grabbing my favorite cold beer while shopping was an awesome experience. The bartender Tommy was very friendly and I enjoyed talking with him about sports. He seems to really enjoy his job and is very knowledgeable about the different types of beer. My father went to the deli to grab wings as he does every week because he loves them there. Today at 5:00ish the guy working at the deli was rude, racist and discriminatory against my father. It is a self-serve counter. After filling about 1/2 of the TO-GO container, there were only a few burnt wings left. My dad waited 20 minutes to grab new wings and wanted to serve himself wings due to Covid. The employee wanted to do it for him. My dad said no I'll do it myself--once again Covid. The guy proceeded to banter with my father saying he had to take the old wings before grabbing new ones. THAT ISNT RIGHT. Take the old, burnt wings out and put the new ones. This maybe the one of the nicest Winn Dixies I have ever been in. The store is small, its like a neighborhood concept. They had unique items like celery root and watermelon radishes. They had a decent seafood section,the items are marked farmed or wild. A big Deli with serve yourself counter. The highlight is the lounge area, with several craft taps and wine. It was early and I wasn't ready for beer. They have a big wine section not sure if its a good selection. The had plenty of employees and if I lived in the area I would shop there.
