This location is OPEN and has not converted into an ALDI's. I swung by while I was in the area to buy $7.99/lb boneless ribeyes and 1.49/lb pork bone-in-sirloins. The stock was depleted but I was helped by the Preston in the Fish/Meat department. Stock was replenished within 5 minutes and I was able to pick the cuts that I wanted. He even gave me a bag of ice to keep everything fresh for my travel home. 10/10 Customer Service, 10/10 deals! read more

Winn-Dixie near my house closed down several months ago so I figured if it was worth it I'd go once every month or 6 weeks to the one out of my way. So I Got a few of the ribeye that were on sale to take to a friend's house to barbecue. threw them on the grill medium rare- they look beautiful but you couldn't chew them, they were tough as leather- I was shocked and embarrassed. they had a bunch of shrimp as well so we just fed it to the dogs. I called the store a few days later and talked to Jessica the store manager and explain what happened. she seemed to understand and said she would be happy to give me a credit back by looking at my purchase on the app if I didn't have my receipt. even offered to show me the different types of quality meats that they did carry. I explained I was a half an hour away and getting ready to go out of town for a few weeks she said no problem when you get back just come to the store if I'm not there talk to the manager up front and will take care of you. she was very nice and apologize. today I called she was not working but the lady up front was very friendly and told me no problem to come on up. I drove over spoke to her initially got a few things and went to check out. at that point a manager named Nestor came to talk to me about this return. He started questioning me. asking me to show him in my phone log where I called the store. now it had been several weeks cuz I've been out of town and I have hundreds of phone calls and I thought that was ridiculous. Almost accusing me of trying to defraud him out of $20 of crap meat. I've never been approached like that by anybody in management at any grocery stores that I have visited in my 50 plus years of South Florida. it seemed to escalate as I explained to him I was disabled with a spine problem and I was tired of dealing with this. he seemed to shrug it off and continued harassing me. At this point he offered to pay the $20 out of his own pocket and I clearly thought it was a red Winn-Dixie card he pulled out. he swiped the $20- again still arguing with me and I paid the difference and told him I would be contacting corporate as well as Jessica the store manager this week. as I walked out he said if I tell myself I'm not disabled it would go away something in that manner. which I thought was not only idiotic, but quite offensive for someone that has a disability. I do not understand how a person of this nature could be in charge of a store. I have worked my whole life in retail, corporate, and owned my own business. there is clearly something wrong with this so-called manager on a mental level. He seemed passive aggressive, controlling, condescending , accusatory, borderline abusive to me as a customer. with employees like this I can see why there are less than a handful of stores left that are open. You would never hear a Publix, fresh market even in Aldi's employee talking in that manner.I guess they're all types in this world. I like Winn Dixie, it's one of the stores I shop for groceries, especially because of their good weekly sales and weekend specials. I stopped in here to get some bananas and I found the store clean and spacious. I like their rewards point system, where every time you buy you accumulate points towards future purchases. The store is large and clean. But their sale signs are not clearly explained or marked. I came in for one thing and saw that they had a soup that I like on sale. Unfortunately, after checking out, I saw that the price did not ring up correctly. So we then had to go to customer service to adjust the price. Guess what? The sale sign did not say there was a minimum number of items that we needed to purchase to get that special price...I thought they should have honored the misleading sign price. Nope. Got a refund. Anyway, they did have the cat food that my friend has been looking for without success in other stores. I don't own a cat, but took a chance on getting it for her. This Winn Dixie is glaringly different... apparently this is a Premium Winn Dixie because there are many that don't look remotely even halfway close to this one... The produce section had wood paneling, drop lighting, and off to the side with the deli area they even have a chicken wing bar... a hot bar section that had BBQ chicken, kielbasa... even an Asian food hot bar. I was STUNNED. The old Charles definitely could've made some bad bad food choices here and been ever so naughty lol I did get the fried chicken thought which tastes 99.99999999999% like Publix Fried Chicken... at least at this location. Ok I'll start with they do have a great produce manager!! Their fruits especially raspberries and strawberries and grapes are NEVER fresh!! I finally was able after complaining for months to "managers" who just brushed off the situation and didn't care I was finally blue to talk to the store manager and also the produce manager. I will update his name when I get the correct spelling of it. I let him know everyday week I go in here their fruits are so horrible moldy and rotten and how I would tell the people and they didn't do anything. He literally got into action and apologized for the rotten fruits that they need to check better for it. Unfortunately this time around I only got 1 case of strawberries and nothing else in produce this time but that's okay. Knowing and hoping that starting next week everything will be fresher makes me happy. The store is always clean and lots of room to turn your carts. Everything is organized and not scattered everywhere. I would like to see more than just the check out yourself line opened. Maybe out happier people at customer service area. read more

I have been going to Winn Dixie in margate for years ,I do my grocery shopping there but my main reason for going to this Winn Dixie was the GREAT customer service at the pharmacy from Cathy and Sylvia . I understand Sylvia is sick and I wish her well . I have tried numerous times to continue there but the pharmacy has to get it together . Nick works hard and tries ".......... I called and told them that I was using goodrx. When I got there, they told me that they were using their own internal coupons because it was cheaper. They charged me forty one dollars for what should have been fifteen dollars copay. Then they would not even honor the goodrx coupon prices. I know what you are thinking, 5 stars for Winn Dixie, really? Especially if you have visited the location on Poweline in Pompano. It's definitely not 5 star. This location however is completely different than any other Winn Dixie I have ever been in. It's decor has more in common with Whole Foods and Lucky's than it does other stores in this chain. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the gleaming wood floors. The store is huge and everything is clean, thus I am a fan. I am actually quite impressed by how the store has been kept up. It has been open for a few years now and it looks just as good as opening day. The reason I like to come here is for the incredible wing bar. They have at least 8 kinds of wings with flavors like ranch, teriyaki, salt and vinegar, BBQ, and buffalo. You can help yourself to what you like. On nights that I don't feel like cooking (TBH most nights), I pick up ribs ($12) and a bucket of wings along with some deli salads and I am the hero in my house. In addition to their large deli they also have a great bakery and seafood counter. Of course Winn Dixie is known for it's meat and this store is no exception. They have low prices on their extensive meat selection. On the day I visited spiral hams for Easter were in abundance for $1.79 a pound. Honestly why can't all the Winn Dixie stores look like this? They carry anything you would normally find in a grocery store and even some items you wouldn't. Best of all is their self check out. I love stores that offer this feature. I am at least ten minutes late in my day from the time I wake up until I go to bed. I don't have time to waste in a store's long lines. I have never had a wait in their self checkout line. On this trip I had a little trouble putting in my phone number for the rewards card. Rudy popped right up to lend a hand. Winn Dixie has recently changed it's fuel perks program and they have now switched from Shell to Exxon and Mobil. Rudy brought his tablet over and while I checked out he signed me up for the new program. I even found a cute magazine that Winn Dixie puts out for free filled with tasty spring recipes and money saving coupons. If you want the large amount of inventory and low prices that a chain grocery store like Walmart provides but the cleanliness of a niche market like Whole Foods than this may be a grocery store you want to check out. read more

I have visited this store twice over the past week for small items. Today was Easter and it was open, while Publix was closed. I am a bit torn as I appreciate Publix allowing its families to enjoy a holiday, but we needed a couple last minute items for the holiday meal. The liquor store at Winn Dixie was open and booming. The lady running the register appeared efficient and happy. She wished us a Happy Easter and we appreciated she wasn't afraid to do so. The store was busy and appeared to be moving. We grabbed several items we don't necessarily need but found on sale while grabbing the items needed. Little did we know they would ring up full price and cashiers cannot repair or assist. After waiting 10 minutes in line (without any managers in site) we find that two items rang up incorrectly and we would need to waste 10-15 Minutes waiting for Service Desk to repair. The young lady was not only handing the 5-7 people waiting but also doing Western Union ! The one manager was filling gatorades in cold cooler versus assisting. Winn Dixie fails to meet Publix in giving you the item for free when they error on pricing. They challenge you (as if your wrong) and reluctantly refund after you've proven their mistake. No apology and no free item for inconvenience. You have to wonder how many times they have stolen from clients because they cannot properly price items and discounts in their system. read more

I've always loved Publix... but this Winn-Dixie is SO very convenient for me that I frequently end up here instead. As others have mentioned, this is not your run-of-the-mill Winn-Dixie. This is one of their new "prototype" stores that they designed to turn the company around. And if they make all of their stores like this one, they're well on their way to achieving their goal. This place is beautiful: lovely wood floors, and it's kept very clean. The employees are friendly and helpful - when I've just been casually browsing, I've been asked if I needed help finding anything. They have a huge section of prepared foods, along with a salad bar and olive bar. I usually end up using the rather convenient self-checkout, since I never have very many items to scan. Winn-Dixie doesn't always carry everything Publix does, which means I sometimes do end up having to cross 441 to get to Publix. I also have found that the produce here isn't always as fresh (in particular, I came here for strawberries, only to find every single package containing mold... yet I went to Publix and got some beautiful berries there). But it's sure nice when I can just come here instead! read more

These people are totally feckless. I recently went there for a few items and one specific item Coke Zero. After rounding the corner from produce and bakery at the end of the aisle was a Coke display advertising Coke Zero for $6.49 per 6 pack with an offer to buy 2 and get 1 free. I grabbed 4 six packs and headed down the chips and soft drink aisle. When I got to the Coke section there was Coke Zero with a displayed price of $5.49 each but no BOGO offer. I just ignored it picked up a few more items and headed for check out. The young man working the cash register had the personality of a rock and clearly would have wanted to be anywhere other than there. I got checked out, went home and as I was putting everything away I glanced at the receipt only to find I had been charged $7.49 apiece for the Coke products and no free six pack! Wow! Biggest group of knuckleheads on earth. I got ripped off but I have the satisfaction of knowing I'll never shop at ANY Winn Dixie again. read more

i got a MEAN rude snotty kid (boy) yesterday who got so mad at me for not upgrading my oold original winn dixie card that scanned and THREW my food at the girl bagger. He told me the old card expired a day ago which is a lie....and the throwing the food showed totaly immaturity and unprofessionalism on the young boy with the blonde hairs part. the girl bagger just laughed as he THREW my items at her to bag. I have been there a few times. I also picked up a footlong that said ON SALE and it wasn't done on checkout and the sandwich wasn't edible. The whole bread bottom was wet and soggy. I have had a few other things from deli that were bad. I recommend only buying store products and skip there deli and paged deli food. Or better yet go to Walmart, aldis and Trader Joe's read more

I prefer to drive a little out of my way from Oakland Park to shop at this store rather than the one 2 blocks from me. It has a larger selection is a lot cleaner than my local store. Love the wing bar! I'm hooked like a heroin addict on their salt & vinegar wings! In fact, their whole wing selection is better and cheaper than anything you'll get at any sports bar. Only negative is they seem to have hired former managers from Wal-Mart as they only have one register open whenever I'm in regardless of how many shoppers are in line waiting to check out. I regularly shop in this Winn Dixie for specials and sale items when it is 'major grocery stock up time' once a month in my house. If you take advantage of manufacturer coupons and have a Winn Dixie rewards card you can save MAJOR bucks here. The store is clean and very well organized. I am writing this review based on their bakery and especially birthday cakes and cupcakes. This bakery has an amazing assortment of ready to go cakes and cupcakes for parties. I purchased a beautiful cake for my daughters birthday in the ready to go freezer case and was SO happy she got the awesome cake she wanted with the 'hot pink' icing -- just like a little girl would want for her day! Cupcakes this day were $3 for a six pack ...totally affordable and decorated in beautiful colors other than the 'usual' slacker Publix offering that I am stuck with when I have to shop closer to my house. They offer cupcakes in a 24 pack - which is perfect for school birthday at $14! So great. I was disappointed that I did not think to come here instead of purchasing at Publix for the school party...Publix $4.99/6 cupcakes x need 5 packs = $25 dollars...$11 more than WD... and colors were lame. WD cakes and cupcakes are beautiful and delicious...perfect for soccer team, birthday, etc. The lovely staff at the bakery was so nice when writing her name on the cake ...and put a little heart on the cake too ...she loved it...they were nice enough to interact with her too ...and say 'happy birthday...have a wonderful day"... made my day too! read more

Tried using the Winn Dixie Pharmacy since it is close to where I live. Huge mistake, Winn Dixie needs to train Jude the pharmacist on costumer service and how to do his job correctly. I called the pharmacy to see if my prescription was ready. After waiting on the phone for over ten minutes Jude finally decided to pickup. I asked Jude if the prescription was available and he told me that my Doctors office didn't call it in and he filled all prescriptions in his queue. I call the Doctors office and debunked his claim. They stated the exact time that the prescription was called in. I tried calling Jude again but the phone rang and rang and rang. No answer, ever!!! So, I got in my car and drove to see Jude. Upon meeting Jude, he was even more arrogant in person than over the phone. I told him what my Doctors office stated and he again claimed that his prescription queue has been completed. I repeated what my Doctors office said. Jude finally decided to do his job and check to see if he might have missed it. After doing so Jude kept his head down and said give me 20 minutes or so. No apology or any acknowledgment of his inadequate customer service. So, I go next door for something to eat at La Pizzeria (Fabulous Food) and go back to the pharmacy after eating. Guess what??? Jude still didn't fill my prescription. I gave him my name again and he said "I thought you were going to come back tomorrow." Really!!! Again, Jude says give me some more time. I left and returned the following morning at 8:00 am. Jude was working again. I approached the counter, gave him my name. Prescription still not complete. Needless to say I was not a happy person. Everything thing from that point deteriorated. The manager was called. I tried explaining what had taken place but arrogant Jude kept cutting me off. Apparently Winn Dixie needs training on how to train employees (Jude). End result, I was not at my best as a human, admittedly and thank god for competition. I will undoubtedly take my business elsewhere. read more

Not only is this the most beautiful Winn Dixie I have ever been to, I think it is one of the most beautiful grocery stores I have ever been to. If you have only been to the other Winn Dixies in the area this may come as a shock, but this is really a high end grocery experience. As you walk in the door you encounter dark wood flooring and enter the produce section with the deli and bakery sitting to the left. Putting the deli and bakery so close to the entrance was pretty genius as this Winn Dixie has BBQ in their deli and it smells pretty delicious as soon as you enter. I never buy deli BBQ or sides just because I know prepared foods are so overpriced compared to what I can do at home, but the smells coming from this counter have almost made me change my mind on more than one occasion. They also have a bulk candy section! You can get any color m&m you've ever dreamed of. I have always experienced great customer service in this particular store, the staff seems to enjoy working and they are super helpful. I was purchasing crab legs at the seafood counter and rather than letting me spend too much, the man behind the counter pointed out that since I was buying more than two pounds I would be better off buying in the bulk bags that they had portioned out in the outside cases. Another reason I really enjoy this store is that they have self checkout. If I only have a few items the self checkout is super fast and there is almost never a line. If you have only ever experienced the dark/dirty Winn Dixies on the other end of the spectrum definitely give this one a chance. They have great sales and offer fuel perks, you can earn quite a bit off the price of gas. If you're just buying groceries you would be buying anyway this is really a no lose situation. read more

This is by far the cleanest convenience store I've ever been to. Compared to Publix which their stuff is a bit overpriced and not as clean as most people say. they have more varieties of products than Publix by my house. My husband has been Winndixie loyal customer for almost 15 years and we really enjoy shopping for groceries there. I was being helped by really nice managers, Mike and Paul..They are always helpful whenever we need help. and i love the Winndixie card which I can save discounted gas price when I go to Shell gas station. what can i say... they're not publix? but really, the wing bar is a nice gimmick but the wings are just garbage.. but my real issue is what is up with the lighting in the store? the entire store has dim/dark lighting... is it to hide how old the place is? really, too many other options in the area to go here. When I went to update the WD rewards card I was treated like I was a POW, they require name a drivers license as a photo ID to verify ones mailing address, a phone # and an E mail address.About the only info they didn't ask was rank and SSN. ALL of this is data mining and will result in E mail SPAM, Robo calls and a mail box full of junk mail from WD selling your info. read more

Bad pharmacy policy and shame on Winn-Dixie regarding the use of Goodrx card. Winn-Dixie although they are a part of the Goodrx participating pharmacies with the use of Goodrx, decided not to honor my card and stated that their prices cannot be lowered to GoodRx discount. The statement had no validity to it, as I have used the card before. So I called up Goodrx and informed them of this location and yes, they are supposed to honor the use of the Goodrx card. With such good customer service, the representative called this location and called be only to confirm what I had told her and all she could say was that location will be contacted and the issue escalated. Winn Dixie even stated to the Goodrx representative that the client can transfer her prescription to another pharmacy. Now is that customer service from Winn-Dixie? Goodrx apologized and made additional suggestions for the different locations where the card is accepted. I asked her are all the Winn-Dixie's like that, and she stated no, it's just this particular pharmacy and again apologized. Winn-Dixie no problem I will definitely be transferring my prescription. Wanted some steamed seafood decided to try the WD on the way home. Entered the store about 745 and proceeded swiftly to the seafood station. There was a man looking at the case and eventually selected what he wanted from the case to be steamed. Cecil was the representative who avoided eye contact as my husband and I waited to be served. We waited and another couple arrived. Pointed to what they wanted and were serviced. Another rep shared he was leaving and left. At this point we have been waiting for well over 20 minutes. Once 815 hit Cecil looked to my husband and said "NO BAGS,NO BAGS." The was no explanation given as we decided to walk to the customer service counter to gain clarity. Two young ladies (blonde and brunette) attempted to rectify the situation however Cecil did not pick up the phone and new rep shared that that "We was supposed to be out of here by 8 anyway." To which we explained we had been there well before. Needless to say, we left the store without anything other than a swift reminder as to why we default to Publix even though the prices are lower at WD. I doubt I will ever return. read more

The staff at the pharmacy is very knowledgeable, polite and helpful. I used to shop at Publix forever till the pharmacist was very rude there and I gave Winn-Dixie a try. The service was so good and because of the Pharmacy now I get my grocery there too. The whole family gets there prescription filled there.
