Lots of customers arriving on golf carts and bicycles from the area confirming that this is a predominantly localized Publix. Well organized shelves and easy to find our horseradish and the pre-made roast beef sandwich from the deli freezer. Bunch of BOGO deals throughout the store. Purchased several FL Lotto tickets and scratch offs. The customer service worker was very friendly with a line of feeling lucky customers forming. read more

Stopped in to this Publix in Deerfield Beach to buy roast beef deli sandwiches. They are already made and under $7 and fresh but a little dry so I add mayo packs from the deli. The manager helped me try to find the Boulder Canyon potato chips in avocado oil but they were sold out. Lots of different flavors and it's a popular new item. Found my creamy horseradish sauce and bought two bottles. read more

There's so much love about this Publix and there are so much wrong at the same time. It's one of the better ones in the area the next best one being the one on US one just north of Glades in Boca Raton. Each Publix has its own vibe and this one has a great one but it can be deceiving. You have to check the date on everything and look very carefully at the produce. Most of the produce is subpar and not fresh and the eggs if you don't check the expiration date on all the different brands they may have expired dates on them. I found three today of expensive eggs that were already expired. In addition, the pricing is often not correct in accordance with the sales so buyer beware. read more

Leaving a review because today was the second issue with customer service at this Publix. Let me begin by saying my family has spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years at Publix stores in South Florida. Including, thousands of dollars at this location. The first incident, I was in the self checkout line with my partner. We were taking advantage of our usual BOGO from the "vegan" item section. There was a particular plant based cheese that was on sale and had the included sign. Sometimes, when ringing things up in self checkout, the BOGO does not show up in the cart. So then we have to get someone to take something off. This one time, a young male employee went to check to see the BOGO sign. Well, he came back and said "there is no sign". Like, they didn't even see a sign at all. First, I went back to check the sign myself. I showed it to the employee in a photo, and he attempted to tell me it was for a different item. I then decided (since I know how to read properly) to go back there by myself to grab the physical sign and bring it to the front. I was still being told that it wasn't what it was....despite saying exactly what was on the package! At this point, I saw a "supervisor" on duty who was talking crap about me and my situation behind my back with other employees but still loud enough so I could hear (something a coward would do, btw). I decided to just not say anything about that situation because it was so pathetic I didn't even want to bring it up again. I ended up getting both cheeses for free (as I should have), but after tons of unnecessary hassle. So I thought, whatever. Now after the experience today, I felt like also adding my previous experience. This second time around, I told my partner to return a 6 pack of local beer that was on sale. We have bought lots of different craft beer and large name beers from this Publix and from others. I have worked at a brewery before and in the restaurant industry for about 10 years--so has my partner. We know when something doesn't taste right. It doesn't only happen with wine, beer can turn in the can. Sometimes there is a quality issue with manufacturing, especially with micro breweries who lack quality control. The first weird sign that the batch was off: I opened a can and it had 2 oz completely missing from the can. I felt crazy so I measured it out, it was 10 oz but should have been 12. It did not have its normal carbonation, either. We each tried to open another can and the beer had that "off" taste and smelled really bad. Not just "I didn't like this beer" bad, but it went bad, kind of bad. You can tell the difference. It was undrinkable. The problem came when my partner came home from this same Publix (down the street from where we live, mind you) with another horrible customer service experience. Apparently the manager there (he did not get the name--short Latina) gave him a hassle trying to return the full 6 pack because we had dumped out the 3 cans and he only brought back 3 unopened cans. She wanted the 3 other empty cans to be brought back, and only wanted to offer half off. Are you serious? At a grocery store? If that is the policy, then fine...but make one exception for a regular customer who doesn't know you have to bring back the empty cans of a pack of beer that was turned. Also, that's disgusting carrying old beer cans around.A customer who hasn't had many or any returns should not feel the need to over explain themselves when something is wrong with YOUR product that YOU are SELLING.We did get the full refund, but again, not without unnecessary over-explaining and distrust from staff. I'm sure there are people who come in there every day and lie about returns. Deal with those people separately, don't treat regular and honest consumers like they're trying to get away with stealing a pack of cheese or 3 beers. Considering we frequent this Publix more than any other, and barely make returns (like, maybe one or two per year for things that SHOULD be returned), this kind of treatment is unacceptable. There should be no questions asked. I had to leave a review in case this Publix gets more reviews like this. Whoever is overseeing this location should know the employees need to be trained better in customer service. Been to over 2 dozen other Publix stores in Florida and never had these types of experiences there. We prefer going to Sprouts in this area down the street much more. Even Whole Foods has better customer service when I need to return something that's gone bad or expired. There are some amazing employees at this Publix, especially those who make the vegan pub subs. Shout out to them. Most of the employees have been great. It sucks that a few bad apples can spoil the bunch, but that is kind of what's happening at this Publix. Especially considering two bad experiences regarding "supervisors" or "management". read more

I love this Publix. It is always clean, well stocked, fresh and organized. Everyone working is always smiling and willing to help. I go to the pharmacy a few times a week to pick up my mother's prescriptions and the pharmacy manager, Nicole Detrolio, is always so happy to help. She makes my day a little better with her smile. Pretty much any Publix I have ever been in for subs specifically, has been a bad experience! I came in here early for a couple of subs for later in the day and to beat the traffic. I waited and waited and waited for someone to take my order. They kept saying "I'll be right with you" but then would find something else to do. There were maybe five people working in the deli area and all they were doing is anything but wait on a customer! It wasn't like they were mobbed with customers (they had been open only a few minutes) they were just being busy at not doing nothing! Finally after waiting about 10-15 minutes someone did take my sub order and then that took about ten minutes to make two subs! How ridiculous! I will not let this happen again, plus although its been said they have some of the best subs in Florida (they're okay, not great) its just not worth the aggravation. On the plus side of waiting for so long was the very good fried chicken was ready so I was able to score a box! It just seems to me that everyone at the PSM deli counters hate their job. One stars for the wait, three stars for the sub and four stars for the fried chicken. I'm only mentioning one employee since I don't have a problem with anyone else. The woman with the blue hair or maybe red at the customer service desk. She is the most unfriendly employee, especially working the CS desk. If you ask her about a scratch card she looks elsewhere and will say "I don't know" instead of maybe helping out?? She seems to cater to the men from what I see. I've tried to make conversation with her but she just turns her head. No smile no thank you NOTHING. Once again the deli is asleep. Managers should be more proactive. One person behind the counter moving in reverse. Not good. After waiting, I gave up and headed to the checkout. While unloading my cart I noticed who would appear to to be a manager leaning against the front wall of the supermarket chatting with some employees. I had decided to chat with him after I checked out but another customer beat me to it. Customer approached the manager and let him know that the deli was moving frightfully slow. The manager,  whose name I came to find out was Nathan, responded to the man "We don't work in the deli".  That comment knock me for a loop .  I ask the cashier  did that manager just say we don't work in the deli ?  She nodded her head smiling . For some reason, this particular Publix seems to have the best selection on steaks. Today I went around looking for a quality ribeye, visited multiple locations and was pretty disappointed at what I saw. When I got here, I found a lot of really good cuts of meat. Take a look at the picture I'm attaching to the review. I'm really surprised it came from Publix. Meats never look this good. I would shop at Publix for steaks more often if their meats were consistently this nice. I feel like this was a once in awhile steal. I loved coming to this store . But ordering my food at Publix sub station was the worst experience I had this week . Was very disappointing . I ordered my food and the guy was being very helpful but we was busy at the moment . Another lady asked if I need help I said sure why not . I told the lady working in the sub station that I wanted a WHOLE SUB - WHITE BREAD . She continues to slice the bread and ADDS mayonnaise. I didn't ask for mayonnaise or tell her my order YET . The only thing I said was that I wanted a whole sub . She continues to add the Mayo to both sides . I didn't say anything about it because a little Mayo wouldn't hurt my stomach . So I continue to order . She continues to put Salami on my sandwich. I let her know , which I said " Ma'am I didn't want that type of meet , but I would like board head TURKEY instead " . The lady continues to get upset and rolls her eyes . She pulls out the turkey but I let her know that I would like for it to be shaved please . She continues to roll her eyes and walks away to go cut the turkey . She comes back and puts the turkey on the bread . Ok . I said I would like Muenster cheese . She adds it . I also said I would like lettuce . She then adds LETTUCE AND WHITE ONIONS . I immediately stop her and I told her " No ma'am I just wanted lettuce on it " she then takes out the onions and literally asks me " ARE YOU DONE ? " I said " EXCUSE ME " She then continues and says " ARE YOU DONE ? " . I said no ma'am I'm just letting you know that I said lettuce not onions . Then I continue with my order and she keeps getting upset . The last thing I told her was to cut it into 4's . She continues to cut it into 2's . Which I let it be . She gives me the sand which and it's dingy looking . I go and report it to the store manager who was available at the time and she actually did give it to me for free but I just had a horrible experience with the lady at the sun station . That was the rudest someone has ever been . I understand it was a Thursday and it was kind of busy but it was no need to have an attitude. It's customer service you didn't politely say sorry I didn't mean to do that . She kept getting a hissy fit . Which didn't make any sense because she asked me if I needed help when someone else was already helping me ... Don't get upset and catch an attitude when you asked me if I needed help with an order . It was just so rude . Horrible experience. It doesn't even make me wanna come back to that store either . Just RUDE . Do better and work on customer service . read more

For a shopper used to the cramped urban supermarket, this Publix is a bit like Nirvana. An overwhelming one to be sure, but it's got everything you might need and then some! Bought some lottery tickets, and very-good-for-supermarket bagels, and noted that even though I had been excited to find Cupcake wines a few doors down at CVS for $8.99/bottle, here they were selling for $8.63. Nice staff and also bathrooms as soon as you walk in which is awesome for those of us touristing for the day. read more

No one ever offers help out to the car and staff is extra rude I am not used to Publix being a place where shopping is NOT a pleasure and this is the closest location to my house. Deli/sub area- King wait super rude and disorganized staff and I no longer trust the prepared foods. The macaroni and cheese has no flavor or salt just taste like macaroni mush, just because you out the burnt crusty part in there doesn't mean it taste homeade. This isn't the closest grocery store to me...in fact there is a Winn-Dixie practically across the street. I go out of my way to hit this Publix because they have good produce, outstanding customer service and a CLEAN, well stocked and well organized store. There are plenty of check-out isles open most of the time, so even when it's really busy (it's really busy 99% of the time) you don't wait in line more than about 5 minutes. The staff is friendly, always helpful, and will even remember you and say 'Hi' when they see you on a regular basis. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is for the deli counter. The wait is always wayyy too long for anyone that's on a lunch break, or in a hurry of any kind. They make a sub sandwich that is TO DIE FOR, and it's a terrible shame that I never have enough time to sit there for 20 minutes waiting for my turn at the deli counter or the sub sandwich station. Also, the beer is over-priced. At the end of the day, it's still my grocer of choice and I would still recommend it. Just don't expect a good parking spot. read more

Publix I really hope you contact me. Whenever i shop at this bakery there's one particularly woman who is always so rude to me! I'm one of those over thanking, hey hate to bother you kind of people. The 3 times in my life i have asked this woman a question she has snapped back at me with "we don't have that" "that's the only way that comes" she's so rude and acts like I'm ruining her day by greeting her or asking a simple question. This is the cleanest, and most organized Publix I have every seen. Over the past 5 months, shopping there weekly, I have figured 25 visits. 95 percent of the time the shelves are stocked perfectly, IN EVERY ISLE!!! Labels facing forward and everything neat and organized. Everytime I walk by someone stocking the shelves, I am greeted with a smile and a hello "May I help you find something". The management must be given praise for setting the standard of excellence, but these stock people need to be regonized. They are a value to the company beyond any statistical representation. They are part of the backbone on why this Publix is the most organized. Props to the behind the scenes workers at this Publix. You are making the Managers' career a lot less stressful. On two different Fridays this month I was very disappointed with the deli department. In both cases I ordered the Boars Head Turkey Jerk sub on special and had two different deli employees simply walk away from me after placing the order. The first one never said anything, the second(from 20 ft away) explained she had to cut the meat. Not sure why they both had to cut the meat for a sub that was being advertised by an in store sign. The first employee put yellow tomatoes on my sub and merely switched them with different ones when I asked the be removed. So much for listening to a customer. Both times I walked out of the store not purchasing anything. After sending a nice email using Publix.com I got only 1 call from the store managers. He a single voice message. When I got home from work and called after 7pm I had to wait about 10 minutes for an assistant manager to pick up the line. After explaining all this to him, he merely asked if he could take a message for the store manager. You got to be kidding me, an assistant manager can not resolve such a simple issue? You really need to waste more of my time with yet another form of communication from me? I think I have 6 or more checkins here on yelp with this store. No more, gonna find another place to spend my hard earned money. 11/24/12 A few months ago I finally heard from the district manager. He was very apologetic and arranged a $25.00 gift card for me at this location. I got it and finally got one of those Turkey Jerk Subs. It was very spicy and delic. It was very much woth the wait and trouble! In fact it was so good I am not sure why they do not offer custom subs with any of the meats they have available in the deli. With so many foodies out there, they could easily charge ten bucks and offer a much wider variety than they do now. read more
