It's hard to believe I've been shopping at this Winn-Dixie for close to 18 years now and have not written a review, so here it is. This store is our go-to for meats as their quality and prices are better than the Walmart's nearby. We also shop at this store for their fresh flowers, seafood, and frequent use products such as coffee, bread, creamer, and butter. One thing I don't recommend purchasing from the store is beer; it is not competitive to other stores in the area. Alternatively, they have just remodeled the building and added a Winn-Dixie liquor store next-door, which is competitive to other liquorstores in the area. Don't be surprised if two or three people strike-up a conversation out of the blue while your shopping. Most of customers who shop here are locals and know each other from high school, church, work, etc. The store is very clean and well organized the general manager and managers do an excellent job maintaining this store. Staff members are friendly and provide great service. I always feel welcome and since i've been coming here so long, they treat me like family. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend shopping at this Winn-Dixie. read more

I've been coming in this Winn-Dixie for over 30 years. Recently it has been remodeled and reorganized. They have also added a liquor store that usually has some great deals. This place is very clean and the manager takes pride in keeping it well stocked in organized. I looked out today for Cinco de Mayo they had everything buy one get one free for taco making ingredients. I got over $25 worth of stuff for $13 let the BOGO. They offer self checkout in three lines of assisted checkout. Price for vegetables here can be a bit high so I don't shop here all the time but it's only 2 minutes from my house so it's perfect for quick stops. read more

Winn-Dixie has fallen behind in the supermarket game and I would have to lay the blame solely upon them. Poor customer service, the quality has slid considerably, inconsistent pricing, etc. have made my visits here less and less frequent. For a company that oncevprided itself as the "Beef People" it is particularly a shame to have seen their beef become abysmal. They rely on sources outside of the United States on a lot of their meat and the quality is not there. I still go based on if they have something at a good price, but if it is beef, I usually don't even bother. Life is too short to eat cheap, chewy steak. read more

This Winn-Dixie gets a bad rap because its not as "nice" as the Heathrow location. It was clean, the aisles seemed to have more space than the Heathrow and it was not as hectic. The location has several restaurants and typical things you would find in a strip mall. The team members were friendly and I will go back because its the cloest grocery to me. read more

Deli is always out of everything you would think they would keep the food coming out with how busy they claim to be oh well I'm never spending my money here again atleast Publix keeps the chicken coming during lunch hour read more

This Winn-Dixie is just off of 17-92 near 13th Street, and the area surrounding it's a little rough so I was expecting it to be a bit rough inside. My wife and I live very close to it, but based on appearances we always skipped it and headed to the farther away but not so sketchy looking Walmart. One day however, in the middle of a barbeque with lots of people at my house, I suddenly ran out of charcoal. With no time to run to my familiar Walmart, I went to this Winn-Dixie and prepared for the worst. But once me and my friends went in we were very surprised to see that not only were they playing country music, but it was extremely clean, well-stocked, well-staffed (with courteous employees), and had lower prices than the Walmart my wife and I usually go to. All in all I'd say that I was pleasantly surprised and have since begun using this store as my go-to store for groceries and stuff. read more

This is a very interesting grocery store. It's easy to see where the parent company's priorities lie when you compare this location to the one next to Heathrow. This store is barely bigger than an older IGA or Food Lion. WinnDixie has decided to abandon this market area. That said I'm going to stick by this 4 star review. If you live in Sanford like me you really only have this store and the horrid Walmart down 17-92. That Walmart location is the seventh circle of hell! I know the prices are low but the staff is awful and the store is chaotic and dirty. The WinnDixie is far, far better! The staff at this WinnDixie do more with less than any other grocery store I've ever been to. It's easy to be happy and attentive at the Publix in Lake Mary. They have a far nicer facility and twice the selection. None the less, from management on down the people who work here obviously care about their day at work. They are attentive, friendly and professional. Somehow they maintain this professionalism in the face of a lot of economically distressed customers, a shit facility, a crappy strip mall and a home office that's forgotten them. It would really be nice if Jacksonville gave Sanford a real store but I doubt that will happen. Too many customers pay with food stamps for that to make sense to the executives and bean counters. If you're in the area go to WinnDixie and forgo the worst Walmart in central Florida. read more

good morning USA...I have been shopping this store for about 20 years... it has history, located near a once run down neighbor HOOD and had it's problems, and the managers had issues with corporate, because this store was in a bad area it was on the close list, and little corp concern for repairs and stock items.... the managers and a hand full of employees kept their honor and did their jobs keeping the store functioning. The Sanford City Counsel, started allowing funds to clean up the streets bringing back the good paying customers, again showing a profit WD,Corp opened up and made the improvements, the store is clean and necessary and has quality product, pricing has improved, and is competitive , the quality is good, and the whole WD Team works the store righteous...No it's not Heathrow WD, Heathrow has more square footage and the area is economically superior...Sanford WD is perfect for Sanford and carries well.. read more

This WinDixi is so-so... It's not that clean and prices seem a tad higher. My wife and I definitely prefer Publix, but stop by here when we don't want to make the extra drive. read more

NOt bad for quick pick up items - feels like an older place, yet clean. I would not go here except it's so close and the staff is always so plaesant. Deli needs an upgrade. read more

Well, I was so happy to see the other good reviews because I concur wholeheartedly! I almost look forward to forgetting something at Wal-Mart so I have to come here! It's like a little oasis of plain, simple niceness in the middle of not-so-niceness. Since I only run in for some quick item, but don't know where everything is, I can always find someone to help. And they help like they want to, not like it's some huge chore or burden that they try to get rid of as quickly as possible. So yeah, thumbs up Winn-Dixie! I'm so glad you're here! read more
