I went to Winston-Salem Dental Group to establish care, and go through an exam to pickup on some work I was in the process of having done prior to moving to the area. The receptionist is extremely friendly. She called the day before to get my paperwork taken care of. When I arrived, she greeted me as if we were friends. Although I wasn't feeling well, I felt welcomed. I arrived about 20 minutes before my appointment. I waited roughly 25 minutes. The music was good, and they seemed to be getting folks back into rooms pretty quickly. Once I was back in a treatment room. I did have to wait about 1.5 hours before seeing the dentist. Due to the pandemic, this feels standard unless you've scheduled the first time slot of the day or a day that isn't full. As I waited, staff checked on me and kept me updated. It was very nice. When I did meet with the dentist, the experience was great. He explained everything to me and I fully understood what my treatment plan meant. I will be staying with them. They are friendly, and I had a pleasant experience. I highly recommend them. read more

they are never ready for you - I've had to wait as much as 2 hours before being seen. I sat in the waiting room for a long time then they called me back and I had to wait even longer. I told the nurse if I don't see the dentist in the next 5 minutes I'm leaving. I had a partial made for my teeth over a year ago, and it's not comfortable they re-did it and it still does not fit my mouth. I can't even wear it. I spent sooooo much money on this partial and it has been wasted - I had to wait 9 months for a cleaning - The girls sit over and talk very loudly and I'm sitting there waiting - one day I sat for 30 minutes for a 5 minute tooth mold - I finally had to get up and walk out and make a scene. I don't know who I will get, but I'm going to change dentist as soon as possible. read more

Would give ZERO stars, if I could. I had an emergency and needed to be seen. They could not see me, which was fine. I asked that my X-ray records be transferred to another location that I may be seen. LaDiamond (spelling???) told me that she could NOT send over my records anywhere unless I signed a release form. Cool. I asked for it to be emailed since I was at the doctor's office that was sending me to the other location. LaDiamond told me that it would be a TWO WEEK turn around to get my records sent because she didn't have them nor access to them because they come from Texas. But she said she could email the release form. HOWEVER, she did say that she could immediately PRINT my X-rays off and I could come and pick them up or send someone to pick them up for me. PLEASE make that make sense. At first, you don't have access to email them to an emergency office that can see me, but you have access to print them off for anyone to come and get them. "Company policy!" That's what I got. Read that again...2 more times. If you can print them NOW, why can't you ...... anyhoo. This place may have great dentists, but their office/administration and handling of patient info and records SUCKS and gets a negative 10 on a customer service scale. They are not customer service IDEAL at ALL. Why make it hard on patients? They are always lost in information, never communicate, never have anything straight, don't understand nothing about nothing and it's always and forever that way with everyone. Why can't they hire and train personnel that knows how to do something? Ideal Dental in Winston-Salem is absolutely NOT IDEAL for customer service. I hate the dentists have to suffer because of the lack of knowledge of the front office. It's TERRIBLE!!!! And they all "pass the buck!" Them taking a verbal to release files over the phone, and print TODAY, but unable to take a verbal to release files over the phone and email TODAY but in TWO WEEKS is crazy work. In 1 sentence I'm told you don't have access to the files because they are located in Texas but in another sentence you DO HAVE ACCESS and can print them. Which is it? Stupid policy for those who have to endure this crap of trying to keep and trap a patient. This is one reason why there are so many complaints. Y'all can't get it together! At ALL. when I initially called, I stated I wanted a cleaning. they said OK and scheduled me. I get there and they take my x rays with no problem. they then proceeded to tell me that i needed a tooth extraction and that there were no dental hygienist openings for a month, but they could pull my tooth....NO THANK YOU!!smh. ideal dental has done nothing but treat me bad. I first went in for an emergency walk in I had a filling fall out from a precious dentist. I had to finance $700 and put a down payment of $169 as well as a $99 for walk in visit. got it filled and felt. not even a month later it fell out with me doing nothing. I went back after calling and asking 3 different people if it would cost anything and they said no it would be a post op visit. i asked if they xray would cost anything and they said I don't know and done it anyways. the dentist came in talked to me for not even 2 minutes and said he wouldn't fill it back in. said their was change on my xray. never showed me an xray. I don't even remember signing treatment papers for the xray. now I'm stuck paying for a filling I no longer have. and a new bill from my supposed to be post op appointment of almost $300. I came to Ideal Dental and the staff are wonderful, very helpful with my needs and answering all my questions. I had 2 dental extractions at this office, and although the care quality was great, my office experience was the WORST I have had in my 67 years of life. I have called this office several times and each time I was put on a long hold. Today I was put on hold for 16 MINUTES. My initial visit to Ideal Dental on Hanes Mill Rd was 2-23-23. My insurance had changed so I needed a dentist who accepted my Humana Dental insurance. After the X-rays and exam, I was shown my results and told that I had a crack in one of my front teeth and a small crack in the other one which would mean that I needed those two teeth capped. I was told the cost would be about $2.000.00. The dental staff said they would check with Humana. I was told that my insurance would cover the majority of the cost. Therefore, I agreed and had the work done. I was not 100% pleased because the results did not mirror my previous dental appearance, but felt better knowing my teeth should not be breaking. I received a denial from Humana on June denying payment of $1798.00. I took the EOB denial letter to Ideal and was told they would contact the insurance company. After several phone calls, a Humana rep informed me that they had never received a predetermination from Ideal and as a result they denied the claim when it was submitted. I called Ideal and relayed the message from Humana. I was told that Ideal was not required to submit a predetermination and that it was my responsibility to pay my balance in full. I told the person that I felt this was "bait and switch " since I had insurance and Ideal proceeded with the dental procedure without an insurance guarantee. Therefore, I will never recommend Ideal to anyone needing dental services. I am recently retired and have a decreased income and am unwilling to pay the total amount of $1798 because I feel I was misled. read more

I went to Ideal Dental for replacement dentures, 2 months later I still don't have them, the top plate was ready but the bottem plate wasn't finished!!??!! It will be 2 more weeks before they MIGHT be ready. /All of my appointments I have waited at lest 30 minutes after the scheduled time. Once back in the cubicle I waited 10 to 15 minutes while employees were standing around in personal conversations. The impression stuff they used was to gooey, and was sliding down my throat, and the wouldn't stop. They isn't anything gentile in any of their touch, I know the dentures won't fit right, but I will have to try to fix them myself or pay out of pocket for another pair. I cannot rave enough about Dr. Jackson and the Winston-Salem Dental Group! I should start by saying that I am one of those people who had always absolutely avoided going to the dentist--literally! Well, health and pain necessitated I take an emergency trip and I found myself wondering into the dental office next to Walmart on Hanes Mill Road one day. The office staff Inside the doors of the Winston-Salem Dental Group were so polite and quickly scheduled me an appointment. I met the amazing Dr. Jackson a few days later, and shortly after a few root canals, my pain and worries were over. Dr. Jackson is extremely talented at his job, and a master at quick small talk that doesn't make you feel rushed, but is just pleasant enough to help you feel comfortable while he does his work. I'm a talker that likes to get to know my doctors. He allowed this with ease, while also performing the tasks at hand. He flits back and forth between his rooms giving equal attention to all clients, making sure we are all sufficiently cared for. His outstanding team work seamlessly to keep the office running like a well-oiled machine. In the past, I have felt nervous in dental offices because of the noise and tinkering. Dr. Jackson's Office always has music and a jovial atmosphere, so my mind is on the music and the light pleasant conversations surrounding me. I'm thankful to have found such a highly trained, professional, and kind hearted team for my dental needs. Now I can properly care for my teeth without anxiety about going to a dentist. I go back on February 3 for my cleaning. My husband goes back in s few days. We had excellent service from the time We walked in the door. We checked in with Tae and Mckensi and Austin did my xrays, Marsha did my husband's xrays, and Dr Nathani checked our teeth. We had excellent customer service with everyone. Everyone was very professional and polite. The facility was exceptionally clean, and bright. We would highly recommend Winston-Salem Dental Group. I went in on the 3 rd of February and had my teeth cleaned. Everyone was excellent from the front desk, Tae, Kensi, hygienist Marsha, Dana and check out Maria. I had a fantastic experience. They brought me in started my exam then told me I had to get out of the chair and go back to the waiting room because they were still on the phone with my insurance company. That's something that's should have been done in advance. Then I took off work to get an early appointment because they told me that was the only way to get my teeth cleaned but when I go there they told me I couldn't get the cleaning because the hygienist was booked for the day. Went on a Saturday for a root canal and a crown on #14. Spent over 5 hours in the office. Left still numb but realized later that the temp crown had a jagged edge scraping my tongue and I was also biting when closing my mouth. The next morning "Sunday" I woke with it bleeding. Then shortly after a veneer on my front tooth "which the doctor impacted multiple times during the root canal" chipped off as I was drinking water. I immediately called the office and left a message, I had no response the next day Monday so I left another message and finally got a call back on Tuesday. I then went on my own to the office on Thursday after work (because online website hours said open til 7). When I arrived at 520 with my tongue still swollen and raw along with my chipped veneer the doctor was gone. I was given wax to cover the jagged edge of the temp crown until my Saturday appointment. When I returned Saturday the doctor apologized and used composite material to smooth the edge of the temp crown which was cutting my tongue. He also repaired the chipped veneer reminding me to be careful with it as he had NOT been during my root canal which caused it. I was though concerned while driving home as I could feel the work was not done well, it was rough and visible to the naked eye. Now I have one week more before my permanent crown arrives but.... Wednesday when flossing Dr. Jackson's poor work shined through when his repair to the chip he caused came off. So again I am stuck with a chip on my front tooth. I return on Saturday for my crown and to resolve the issue with my chipped veneer. Initially I was willing to cover part of the costs to replace the veneer although I knew the repeated impacts from an inexperienced dentist caused the chip. When I asked what part of the repair costs the office would cover his response was quick, "Zero". He offered to put a crown on at my full costs which Is the worst thing I have ever heard from a dentist. The tooth is healthy, nothing wrong with it, it only has a surface veneer for cosmetic purposes. Yet this clueless dentist wants to grind away a healthy tooth to put a crown on it. Of course he makes more money that way and also does not need to actually have much skill as one needs when working with any kind of veneers. NEVER go here for anything besides simple dental work. I said to them when I first went I prefer to not go to places like this. They are factories. Although they are nice and sweet and very polite they run it like a factory. My ex wife has been in dentistry for over 30 years so I am not ill informed as to what goes on. Get a nice local dentist with a small office and not a chain office like this place. read more

Went Saturday for pain between two of my molars. They did lots of X-Rays, yet told me that the pain might be caused due to a buildup and that I would need a cleaning, but they had no hygienists available that day, but they could re-schedule me for Tuesday. I made an appointment for today at 4PM, having to lose time off work and a long drive from Greensboro. I arrive there at 3:30PM, they took me in and told me that I was there for X-Rays. I tell them that I had scheduled for a cleaning, due to pain. After more X-Rays and another check, now I'm told a completely different story, also that I would need to schedule another appointment, as no hygienists were available. I inform the dental assistant that I was there for a cleaning, and he begins to argue with me that that is incorrect, and not within the notes. Not only unprofessional, but I thought that after changing their name, the service was to improve, how wrong I was, and continue with this pain. Called my wife and asked her what was said Saturday, as she was there, she replied the same... I was scheduled for a cleaning today.... on my books, this is and continues to be bad business. My wife proceeded to cancel all our kids dental appointments with this location, as well as my wife's appointments, already booked with another dentist. They ran my maximum allowance up on purpose and then bill me for the dental cleaning we're supposed to be allowed twice a year. They're ghetto and unprofessional too. The management and front staff here are a joke. The dentist did their job when they could, but they see multiple patients during the procedure rather than finishing what they started first. We were given a quote right before the whole coronavirus mess, (by a staff member that is no longer there?) and when we returned the price had jumped up $600 dollars more than what they had said it would be. I asked why the price had gone up and was told that the manager was not in and to check back the following day. The manager was rude and unwilling to listen to reason. There was a 30 day quote guarantee I saw on the back of the exam sheet after our talk. We were new patients and not told about this short period for the quote on our first visit and paying out of pocket. We returned to get the procedure done after we felt the virus mandate was more reasonable, and informed the price had jumped up substantially. This will be the last time we visit Winston-Salem Dental Group. It's such a shame that they are willing to let customers who would be coming back just walk away because they don't want to honor a price that they had quoted right before a national shutdown. read more
