Great driving range with plenty of space and plenty of balls to hit. Playing on real grass and not playing on the fake grass hitting mats was great. They maintain the upkeep on the grass well. My boyfriend was a huge fan of this and really enjoyed his time here. Chipping area is not in the best shape. But reasonable prices and friendly staff. This is your old school driving range and I love it! It's the kind of range from back in the day before all the high tech, party driving ranges came in to the market. This is the type of driving range I prefer. There's nothing fancy about it. There is a small club house where you purchase your bucket of balls, multiple sizes are available. They also sell beverages and some golf accessories. The range it self is a big open field with tattered old faded yardage markers. You hit directly off the sandy/dirt/grass ground which I prefer, not a mat. They also offer a chipping green at no charge and there is a batting cage that is part of the facility. Great place to hit a few balls. They have batting cages and an open air driving range. The batting cages are not new, and have definitely seen some use, but they are still fun. They have several different cages with varying speed pitches. There is even a softball cage. There are different price points, but for example, we paid $14 for 10 coins, and each round in the cage is 1 coin. We also like to come here for the golf driving range. We almost always pay $20 for the largest bucket of balls. You can bring your own clubs or borrow theirs (although theirs can be slim pickings). We have never had an issue with space out on the range, and always have a good time. This time we came at dusk and played until it got dark. There is lighting but if you hit the balls really far, you may not necessarily see them come down. The grass is kept in decent condition. This driving range has a distance of about ~300 yards. Colored poles are placed every 50 yard increments to help you designate your hitting distance. Also, a cool thing about this range is that at the very end, there is a bunker that's painted with a big red target (but good luck hitting it!). During a wet day, large puddles form in the field making really cool splashes when your golf ball skids across it several times. Walking to the field on a wet day can leave your shoes a bit muddy though. It's probably better to come on a dry afternoon when the sun comes down so it's not as hot. The PRICING seems pretty fair. Currently, their prices are $4.50 for about 30 golf balls (called the "runt size bucket") and $7.50 for about 60-65 balls. (The price seem to have gone up a little after reading someone else's review). The runt size bucket should last you about 30 minutes while the next bigger size should last about an hour. They have bigger buckets available, but as a beginner as myself, I chose the small one and had lots of fun. There is no tax and they have several golf clubs to choose from. The tee's are extra but I ended up just walking to the field and finding usable ones left on the ground. If it holds the ball up it works! They have a few batting cage that are also available. I have not tried it yet but I have seen other people go for it and having fun. Overall I had a fun time and wouldn't mind going back. read more

Batting Cages Review - The cages are so-so, but as some have mentioned, there's not a lot of batting cage selection currently in East Orlando, especially the kind where you can easily stroll in if you feel like hitting a few. DO NOT GO IF ITS BEEN RAINING AT ALL RECENTLY (the machines won't work right, they also have a sign warning you of that indoors). I typically visit Bad Dog every other week or so. We usually get the 10 tokens for $12 deal and that splits between two people nicely to feel like everyone got enough pitches. GOOD - typically not crowded (rarely have to wait to hit), friendly people that leave you be, open cages so you can better judge the height and length of your hit. BAD - open cages mean the balls have to be fetched like golf balls (sometimes I see them fetching and returning all day; other times the machine looks like it's about to run out of balls at any moment); the machines are older and unpredictable (most of the time it's about 80/20 good pitches, but every so often, like my most recent experience there, it's 20/80, with most not even making it halfway to the plate! Go ahead and give it a try if you're looking for a place to hit on the east side of town. They have bats and golf clubs available for use at no extra charge, but aren't in the greatest shape. You will definitely want to have something to drink on you, as it's very hot out on the driving range. We had gone on a 60 degree day, but it felt as if it were almost 80 degrees. Bad dog offers golf range and batting cages. This review is for the golf range only. This is no frills golf range. I like the simplicity of the place. It offers a variety of bucket sizes to choose from and some snacks and refreshments for sale in the main lobby. They do have some loaner clubs available for free but they are not in the greatest condition. I would recommend you bringing your own clubs. I went on a Saturday and they had a food truck outside for those that wanted to purchase food. Don't forget to wear sunscreen. The office has free sunscreen for anyone to use. If you're right handed the best time of day to go is around dusk because of the position of the sun. For right handers, in the morning the sun will be in your face but in the late afternoon / dusk the sun will be to you back. For 2 people we shared the Big Dog basket which is about 170-180 balls. It lasted us about 1.5 hours. I like that his range is open until 9pm so that I have the option to come after work on weekdays. The golf range is actual grass that you will be practicing on, not astro turf. So you will have divets and holes in the ground but you'll just have to practice around / on them. read more

This review is for driving range only. This is my favorite spot to go and practice. As some of the previous reviews mentioned, the golf balls here aren't always in the best condition. Additionally the chipping area (I really hope it wasn't meant to be a putting area) is not in the best shape. Unfortunately, they also raised their prices a bit this year on the golf ball buckets. The reasons for 4 stars are: (1) this is one of the few driving ranges that is open past sunset not too far from Baldwin Park (2) they always let you hit off real grass - I'm not a big fan of practicing on the grass mats that a lot of other ranges force you to hit on (3) there is a lot of space so you can always find a spot to hit (4) staff is always friendly. Bad Dog features a driving range and batting cages. Being really one of the few ranges and cages in the east Orlando area, this place could be a lot worse. The location is in a not-so-good section of town. The clubhouse or shop could be renovated. Looks like it's been there for 20 years. The driving range is pretty wide with lots of room which is good. The golf balls are in poor condition. Seems like every bucket has a few balls that are cracked or that have no texture at all. The hitting area isn't bad. It's all natural grass and I believe the area moves forward and backward every few days. At night, the hitting area is lit up pretty nicely but the range isn't. You can see the ball go out about 150 yards and then it disappears. They also feature a putting green / chipping area but it's in terrible shape. Grass has grown into the sand trap and the green was covered with weeds last time. The batting cages although old are pretty decent. Most of the time the machines work. They have 2 softball slow pitch machines along with 6 or 7 baseball ones. I think you can get 6 rounds for $7. That's actually pretty good. They use the standard rubber yellow balls which is fine. They don't have a net which is nice because then you can tell how far you actually hit the ball. If you have a bat though, you'll probably want to bring it with you. Their bats are in horrible shape. Anyways, this place is pretty cheap to hit golf balls and take some swings in the batting cages. With a few renovations, this place could be a lot nicer but they do have a monopoly on the area so I guess they don't have to. Although the area is scary, it's pretty close to Conway, Winter Park, downtown Orlando, and east Orlando. read more

I absolutely love this place. My grandfather and I go here whenever we have a chance. Great facility and wonderful and friendly employees. The batting cages are on the older side but I don't notice it because of how fun it is. Options of Slow, Medium, and Fast pitches for baseball. For softball the only option in slow pitch. 1 token lets you hit 10 baseballs. 10 tokens for $13 isn't bad considering you are able to hit 100 baseballs. Even though I don't usually golf, other than put-put golfing, I really enjoy hitting a couple balls at the driving range out into an open field. Decent grass. Definitely a fun place to tee off even though you don't play. There is also a tiny chipping range in the corner filled with about 5 holes. Not a very expensive place to hang out. The owners are very nice and know what they are doing in keeping the range up... the balls are of good quality, hardly ever cracked like at other places, being almost new and ready to fly. The grass for full shots is good .. they adjust to find the best areas of grass every day .. I only wish they'd put in "fake putting surface" for putting and chipping ... they let that area go so short game practice is null. The prices are o.k., could be better, but you get a good quality of balls, good grass on the range and they have rain-checks for the weather and if you just don't wanna hit a full bucket that day.
