I am happy to say that I have found an amazing practice here at affiliated dentists. The process to book, check in, and get my check up was seamless, efficient and very pleasant! The staff is super nice and with the ability to fill out forms online the check in process is ridiculously easy. Sit down in their chairs and their tech is not only some of the best I've ever seen, but the amenities are awesome! From massagers in the chairs to Tvs on the walls to sunglasses for when they shine lights in your face to see your pearly whites, this place is awesome. I don't know if I've been to a better dentist and for the first healthcare experience in Wisconsin, but really, for a dental experience in general this place is great and definitely has my business:) Happy teeth cleaning! He has the highest skill level for technique and results. He is thorough and comprehensive in his examination and treatment. At first I was like, "wait, what? I've been getting regular care right along- how can there be so many issues that need to be addressed?" And then he started fixing them and I was like, wow, so that's how my mouth could have, (and should have been)! I've always feared and dreaded the front teeth upper gum and pallet novacaine shot, because it's a lot worse than a "pinch." But not with Dr. Jon. His technique gave me more of a slow pressure, not a painful pinch, which amazed me. And somehow he dialed in the exact amount- I had no pain at all, yet when I was done, my upper lip and nose didn't feel like I'd been punched, there was just a slight tingle that went away very shortly. The office staff is also great- appointments were handled with skill, multiple options, and accuracy. I am always greeted with warmth and friendliness, especially by Kayla. I'm just guessing here, but there might be a rule that only nice, pretty women are allowed to work there, I'm joking yet it seems to fit the observable facts. I am very glad I switched, my only hesitation in writing this review is that he'll get even more busy and it will be tougher to find an opening in the future... Still, my highest recommendation.

Each room is set up like a pretty standard dental office, very clean. On my first visit, they told me they like to do a full set of x-rays just to get an idea of what my teeth are like overall, but my insurance didn't cover for a full set. So they told me they will still do the full x-ray set, but just write it as whatever my insurance will cover, and they will cover the remaining cost. How great is that?!? The staff is wonderful and courteous, also very punctual. I'm never waiting in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. The cleanings are done nice and quickly, I'm in and out in less than an hour. Dr. Vaandehaar is great! He always makes suggestions for me to consider, but is never pushy about getting anything done that isn't absolutely necessary. For example, when I had a cavity, he obviously strongly recommended that I take care of it asap. But when it came to some preventative things, he told me what was going on, and what some options are and said it's something to think about. The only complaint that I have is, they do send A LOT of appointment reminders via email and text, multiple times leading up to your appointment. Yes, you can totally opt out of it, so I guess this is really on me. Also, TDC is the only place that staff actually came in and sang happy birthday to me during my cleaning. It was so sweet! By far the best dental office I've been to. Highly recommended. (And I'm not just saying that because of the singing)

They've had turnover in dentists but they've all been above average to good, some with more experience than others. HOWEVER, it's been at great cost. I've gotten inaccurate cost estimates (SOW jotted on the back of a business card??) and their insurance department doesn't like to process anything that isn't Delta Dental. It's cost me thousands in extra payments.

The staff is very knowledgeable and personable. When deciding whether to go with veneers or not I never felt pressured. Dr. Martin and the assistant Danielle were excellent at explaining all steps and making sure that I was 100% happy with the look and feel of the altered teeth before I left. I have dental insurance plus a supplement. I was told that because I had an outstanding bill for a minimal amount that had been sent to collections (of which I was unaware but offered to pay immediately) they were unable to schedule me. Even after offering to pay the bill immediately I was told I was kicked out as a patient and could never be seen there AGAiN. I have always had a good experience with the STAFF there, they are great. FCD is a chain corporate business that has always felt a little scammy, but the Stoughton staff kept me coming back. Sadly because of some ridiculous corporate policy I need to take my business elsewhere. I am a healthcare worker myself and am very aware that this industry is for profit; just disappointing to see even local dental offices turning away loyal patients (or rather, "customers").

They do not allow patient choice on this. I HAVE to get the deep clean or get my cleaning elsewhere. So year 20 will begin with a new dentist.
