Just after purchasing a new month…read moreto month unlimited membership, and their holiday special punch card I was scheduled for surgery. I informed them of this and asked what would happen regarding my membership. It was told to me this wasn't uncommon, it would be ok to pause the membership and to speak with the owner. My last class was the week of Christmas and the owner wasn't there. When I returned to class and spoke with the owner she said she couldn't allow people to stop coming to class, start back up when they felt like it, and expecting to still have their membership. Throughout the conversation I explained to her several times that I didn't just stop coming, I had surgery and couldn't attend. By this time other people were there and able to hear the conversation. Because of this, I suggested we discuss it further after class. She then said I should have informed them that I would be having surgery and the best she could do was to give me 7 days. I explained to her that I had informed them ahead of time and was told it wouldn't be an issue pausing membership until I was able return. It was at that time that she said she needed to start class. It was an embarrassing experience and very unprofessional. I found a place closer to home less expensive for the amount of classes, and more welcoming.

The atmosphere here is so welcoming, and all the instructors are extremely helpful and always available to answer any questions I have regarding the exercises we are doing. It's great to be able to take a large variety of "specialized" fitness classes like pilates, barre, and HIIT and circuit training at a location that doesn't lock you into a pricey membership and lets you pay per class or via packages as you go! I've been so much more motivated to work out since I've started attending class here, and the special fitness challenge events, workshop classes, and meal prep events have helped me a lot outside the gym too.

It's $59 for a monthly membership and they offer a 90 day challenge where your calories burned can transfer to studio points. I got a free month after my first challenge and have won various other prizes and credits. They do require you to purchase a special heat resistant yoga mat and towel, but the other resistance bands I bought on Amazon for cheaper. There are 5 saunas for isometric classes and 4 saunas for HIIT classes that contain cycle bikes, rowing machines and their version of an elliptical. I highly recommend Hotworx to everyone!

What You Need to Know Before Joining Club Pilates/ Dearborn Heights…read more Too many restrictions aimed to make the consumer pay, not a friendly place, very rude and bad customer service . Take your time when you are signing up, they rush you by claiming if you sign after your first class , you will not pay a " registration fee" Read the Cancelation and freeze policy. Don't rush!!!!! I wanted to share my experience so others know what they're signing up for. My daughter and I joined Club Pilates. We already work out at Orange Theory Monday through Friday, and our plan was to do Pilates only on the weekends. Unfortunately, that became very difficult because weekend classes were often full or waitlisted. Since we knew we had several months of travel and family events coming up, we decided to freeze our memberships. During the freeze, we realized it made more sense to cancel. That's when we learned that Club Pilates does not allow you to cancel while your membership is frozen. We were told we had to wait until the freeze ended before submitting our cancellation. Here's where it became frustrating. Our freeze ended on June 28. Even if we had submitted our cancellation that day, we would still have been charged for another full month. We sent our cancellation email on July 6 and were then told we would also be charged again on July 28. So after paying $25 per month to freeze each membership, we are now also paying for additional full membership months that we won't be using. To make matters worse, we originally had the 4-classes-per-month membership. Several times we couldn't even book our classes because the waitlists were so long, and those unused classes expired after 30 days. We paid for classes we never had the opportunity to take. For comparison, my daughter and I have been Orange Theory members for years. We've frozen our memberships several times and have never experienced anything like this. In our experience, Orange Theory has always tried to work with us and help us get the most value from our memberships. I'm not saying others shouldn't join Club Pilates. I'm simply encouraging people to fully understand the membership agreement, cancellation policy, freeze policy, and class availability before signing up so there are no surprises. I wish I had known all of this beforehand.

Jeannette is always on time and prepared.   She is knowledgeable, funny, and thorough.  During the COVID-19 stay home order, she checked in to make sure I was working out and offered suggestions for in-home workouts.   The gym that she trains at is older, but the equipment is well-maintained and it is never crowded.  The gym owner is great. Everyone I've seen in the gym is nice, but totally focused on their workout. I prefer it to the chain gym near my house.

I thought I would be all dialed in and let me tell you....that class kicked my butt. When the first five minutes of class starts with old school pushups, you know you are in for it. Great music, high intensity, lots of reps. Has more of a strength training vibe than barre3 and no real cooldown at the end.
