I have Ben taking my dog there for 13 years and just passed away October 17th 2020 , I have put all my trust for my dogs life in there hands I took him every year fir a physical check up and his shots I did mention to them when my son was younger that he use to throw up a lot he couldn't even eat dog treats and they just kept saying don't give him anything besides his dog food and he might have a sensitive stomach issues or acid reflux so I went with that but I would always point it out to them the issue every year I took him they never suggested any further exams on him as he got older he started getting sick and throwing up , took him there and they did a minor blood work on him and send home wanted to do more blood work that would cost me near 700 but always ignored the stomach issues They ordered steroids to give him which made him worse sick to the stomach the next day he was in Massive pain and crying out loud I rushed him to the emergency she checked his stomach and took X-rays and found a big mass which made me wonder why all these years I've took him to his vet never once suggested to take x-rays for his stomach if they have done that on an early age problem what I've been solved and he would have Ben saved from earlier age I think this place is all about money and don't care too much about pets lives the vet called me once and said sorry and said she would call back and never did I am in so much pain and grieving over my son . I don't sit just displaced to anyone take your pet somewhere else that are more thorough and caring please because I regret taking him there all these years my son is gone now and I'm heart broken and always will be I will never forget my baby I wish I would have known this from before and took home somewhere else . Take care if you're pets people bc no one cares about them and know them better than you and vets are just there fir money

I can tell already that my puppy is in capable and nurturing hands. The well examination was thorough and I was happy to have reading material to take home. The kind of information recommended by trained professionals. The ladies were so nice and made me feel relaxed about being a new puppy mama.

Brady at the very friendly vet! Was absolutely happy with them.

I had a great experience here. Nice and clean. They were very welcoming. I felt very happy on how well they treated my dog Brady. When it came to paying they were very friendly and broke it down in a understanding way. I'm so happy i found a place I know they love my dog as much I do.

I have been hearing about how extremely busy every vet has gotten during Covid but I'm glad they are taking precautions to be safe and healthy.

Not only is he an exceptional doctor, but he truly cares about his patients. He's kind, compassionate, personable, and outstanding at what he does. I know there are many great docs out there, but there's no one I trust more than Dr. Burns. Wonderful doctor, wonderful person! I feel incredibly fortunate to have found his practice all those years ago and I've recommended Walled Lake Veterinary Hospital to many friends and family members over the years. I just can't say enough good things about Dr. Burns and his entire staff. Thank you for taking such incredible care of my family. It means more than you'll ever know.

I also like that they give you all of the options you have available but they don't try and push anything on you or belittle you and your choices. They will always work with you. I am also a helicopter cat mom, lol. I have endless questions for Dr. Burns and the staff. Dr. Burns always returns my calls in a very timely manner and is very patient in explaining everything in detail to me. I even told Dr. Burns once that they are my babies and they can't talk so I am their voice and he said he totally understands. He is never in hurry to get out of the exam room or off the telephone with me like so many veterinarians are. There are 2 offices as well so that helps with flexibility in scheduling. I will continue to go to Walled Lake Veterinary Hospital for all my pets care.

I got second opinion from another vet and they also said to find a specialist. I was told he would need CT scans, ultrasounds, and surgery. I was overwhelmed and desperately trying to set up the earliest appointments I could get for him. But within that time, it continued to grow. Within a week and a half it went from the size of a golf ball, to the size of a grapefruit. I felt like I wasn't getting the immediate help my dog needed. That's when we came to AEC and met with Dr. Melissa. She had the confidence and experience to perform a procedure on my dog that was absolutely necessary and as a result, she saved him from a great deal of pain, and me from a great deal of panic. (Not to mention thousands of dollars). Melissa introduced herself to my dog so he could became familiar with her. Then she explained to me what she would do, what she was looking for, and what would happen next. All before she took him to the back of the clinic. After the initial check she came back with more details, explanations, and information about the next steps she would take. One thing I greatly appreciated is that Melissa gave me an estimated time as to how long the procedure MIGHT take, but she emphasized that an extended wait time did NOT mean something had gone wrong. That helped settle my anxiety and keep me from watching the clock too closely. I admire emergency physicians and everyone in this field so much. They have to treat traumatic and urgent situations while also balancing their compassion for the animals they are helping. Melissa walks that line with kindness and integrity. She trusts her intuition and seemingly puts herself in the position of her patients. As a result, she provides them with not only the most comprehensive and quality care, she also provides them with a great deal of comfort. One month later, I'm sitting on the couch next to my HEALTHY dog writing a review for this amazing doctor, Melissa. We are so grateful for you! I want to wrap this review up by acknowledging and praising the entire staff at the AEC. My interactions with the receptionists were particularly wonderful. One of them even helped me carry my still somewhat sedated, nearly 80 pound dog through the ice and snow in order to safely get him in my car! If you're having an emergency and need an exceptional doctor, a clean and calming clinic, with the kindest and most compassionate staff, this is where you need to go.

After weeks of pain with no improvement and seeing other vets I was referred to Dr. MacDonell for treatment. From The moment we arrived at this clinic we felt a level of compassion and priority unlike any other vet I have ever been to. I could literally cry writing this. In only 3 acupuncture treatments my dog went from needing surgery to what seems like her previous puppy like self. It has been absolutely amazing to witness the healing from this therapy. This clinic and doctors will make you feel like you MATTER! Not just a time slot on their appointment board. The front desk and vet techs go above and beyond. Checking you out for services in the room, making sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. Everyone is positive and smiling. I will never go anywhere else again. He can be rude and uncaring. I have also noticed that he seems to prefer dogs over cats. I don't feel like veterinarians should feel this way but it's noticeable. Also, the staff of doctors used to be consistent but then there seemed to be a quick turnover. The new doctors are subpar. I had lost one of my cats who had been a patient there for quite a while and when he passed, I didn't receive a card or anything from the office. Small thing but important for pet owners. A few weeks later my other cat all the sudden couldn't stand on one of her paws and kept falling over so I made a makeshift cast for it to help give it support. I took her to the vets the next day and the vet, I don't remember her name, but she was African American. She asked me if I made that cast and I said yes. She said you did a good job. She then informed me that my cat had Cancer. What? When did this happen? I was of course devastated especially after just losing my other cat just weeks before. She says just take her home. No ideas for care nothing. She hands me the cat back and I say aren't you going to wrap her leg up again to help her stand. She says it doesn't matter anyway. It won't make a difference. I said are you crazy would you not want the doctor to wrap your leg if you couldn't walk? So cold hearted. I was done !!! never went back. Went to another vet ASAP. Also, what kind of vet has poisonous flowers right outside their entrance to the office? Insane! STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
