This place has gone down hill since our vet left. Been going here 8 years but will be looking for a new vet now. The people were extremely rude. I showed up at the time they asked me to be there and then sat in an exam room for half an hour with no explanation on what was taking so long. When I opened the door and asked, the nurse who came in made a couple statements that made me want to walk out: "Do you have somewhere to be or something?" - are you kidding me? That's your response to me asking what has kept me sitting in the exam room for a half hour after being told you'd be right back? "Good thing you work from home." - again are you kidding me? Are you implying because I work at home, that the work I have to do is less important? I was pretty upset at that point. Then the vet came in and made a point to tell me twice that she left another patient to come see me because she was told I was upset. And then she slammed the door when she left. I mean come on now. You guys told me to come up and I did and then offered zero communication to why I was left sitting back there and then proceeded to treat me like I was doing something wrong and my time was not nearly as important as theirs. And to top it off, they then proceeded to tell me there would be a charge today after telling me 2 days prior to bring her up at no charge to fix our pets incision that kept opening. When I said I would be looking for a new vet, they then came back and cleared the charges. Damage done, strike 4. I don't need that kind of treatment from a vet for our pets. read more

I love Commerce Village Vet for many reasons. Their staff is very knowledgeable and careful with your pet. Shoutout to Katie, she's so nice, helpful and patient with me and all my questions and needs. Dr. Putt knows her stuff. The entire staff are great hand-working people with a true love of animals. I gave 5 stars because they deserve it, but I have one problem. In my opinion they get more business than they can handle. The building is small, with a very tiny parking lot that is sometimes a struggle to find a spot because it's usually full. They obviously get a lot of business because they're awesome, but I just wish they had more space and more staff. I always get the feeling they have more on their plate than they can keep up with, and I sometimes feel rushed because they are so busy, and because of that, there can be some miscommunication. That's my honest opinion, and l really do love this place, I always feel like my cat Taco is in good hands and that's the most important thing. read more

Honestly one of the best vets I have ever been to and we have been to several all throughout Metro Detroit. The front desk staff are ALWAYS friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. We have seen a few different vets (I think 2?) while bringing in 3 of our 4 dogs. Every single vet was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Even when I called to say I had moved and was switching vets, Laurel (who answered the phone) was just as sweet and accommodating as ever and offered to fax and email our dogs records so I had copies for the new vet. The ONLY time I ever had concern was when I told one of the vet techs that we were contemplating a raw diet for our dogs and she said the vet would not be able to see us if our dogs were on a raw diet because the vet had recently undergone chemotherapy. I'm not sure if the entire office is against a raw diet or if this vet tech represented the policy of the office or was just speaking on behalf of that particular vet...honestly not sure. Pricing/billing is wonderful. They are one of the most reasonable vets around. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and visit Commerce Village Vet Hospital. read more

Unfortunately, Dr. Sharp' Laser has been broken. Dr. Sharp personally called you and explained why she has referred my dog to you for a Laser treatment. You have Refused to give a last chance to my dog. Your alter ego was more important for you than the life of my dog. You put your opinion against of Proven Facts., against of reality. So, I recently changed vets after the practice I was going to just was not meeting our needs. Dr. Putt worked at the old practice years ago so I was so happy to hear that she had opened her own practice and I found her! I have 3 dogs and over the past few weeks have seen each of the vets there. They are all wonderful. The level of care is top notch. The front desk and vet techs are all so accommodating and nice. I brought my first cat here only to find after his first surgery and they opened him up, they realized they couldn't help him so I had to go to a specialist. Not only did that cost my precious kitty one extra surgery with pain and suffering, it cost me thousands of dollars. Than I made the mistake of bringing my second cat there Who could barely lift her head she was so lethargic, and they couldn't even diagnose a bladder infection and Sent her home!!! I then went to Oakland County veterinary referral who are amazing and they did the proper tests and realized it was a kidney/banner infection and put her on the proper medicine and she got better immediately. I've had more than my share of problems with this office. My pets are my family. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

After this event and over $3000 we found out that 3 other dogs in our neighborhood that went to Commerce Village Veterinary had to be put down within the last 8 months. From the terrific veterinary care to the entire treatment by the staff, your pet is in great hands and you are always treated as the most valuable person in the hospital. I have never walked in with my dogs without getting a very thorough examination and evaluation, and I am always asked if I have any questions before they are finished. I have been with Dr. Rutsey for about 23 years. I followed her from her pervious Vet. practice. I have Rottweilers and a lot of vets really don't want to treat the breed for one reason or another, but Dr. Rustsey has been there from my first Rottweiler. Most of my girls have been easy to handle, but I have one now that is a handful at the vet and Dr. Rutsey and the girls at the office take care of her no matter how bad she gets(lol). Dr. Putt has also has handled her as well. They have always answered my questions and concerns about the dog I've brought or the one left at home. Even when I bring in my bad girl, they always greet me with a smile, and seem happy to see us. I drive 35 minutes just to get there. I have become handicap over the last 4 years and it has gotten worse, they help with anything and everything my girls or I need. They maybe a small practice, but they have a big HEART!
