I had had mostly good experiences here. Sure, they would take longer than promised to finish the grooming, often after their closing time. And it's impossible to reach them by phone (besides leaving a message and getting a call back in a few days... which isn't reasuring when I'm calling to check how much longer the grooming will take). But they usually did what I requested, and I was happy with the result. But the last time I brought in my dog, my dog was very badly injured when I picked her up. They hurt her leg somehow - I'm going to guess they forcefully held her paw for nail cutting, instead of acknowledging her protests. (She's a vocal breed, so unfortunately some groomers are inclined to ignore her vocal cues.) My dog couldn't stop whimpering in pain for 2 months. Even in her sleep, she would wake up whimpering from the pain (for about a month). I took her to the vet right away, thinking maybe her leg was broken. The vet said nothing was broken or dislocated, thankfully. But her whimpering in pain broke my heart. What also bothers me is that when I dropped her off, I told the person she has sensitivity in her front paws so to please be gentle. Obviously that was ignored. One factor (I have to assume) is that the person I dropped my dog off with is not the same person who was there when I picked up my dog. So I wonder if what I said even got communicated to whoever was grooming her or cutting her nails. I called Wizard of Paws, and they denied knowing what I was talking about (that my dog had been injured, was whimpering in pain, etc) - said they had no idea how it may have happened, and that it surely wasn't because of them. Overall, it was mostly fine getting my dog groomed here... until it wasn't. read more

Man, I'll be honest with you.. This place I felt, for a time, was heaven sent. And then I came in to pick my dogs up early and the rocket doctor that was in the back didn't know that the dog she was telling to shut the f**k up was my dogs. (Oh I straight up girl you, you toad) She repeatedly told them to shut up with all the expletives. I get it . Shaving dog assholes and balls all day must be "exhausting". But if you're in that job and you don't wanna do that şhiît then you don't belong in animal care. Took my dog into this pet grooming shop for a different purpose socializing of my dog and last week this shop did a complete grooming, So while waiting one of the girls said to me your puppies nails are a bit long and I told her she had her nails done last week, And the girl said does shes walk on grass and I said it's only week ago , Then she said we can do it for 10 dollars and i responded she had them done last week, So I guess you must check and make sure the service you paid for is done, be aware !!!!!!!! read more

I scheduled.my dog for a was and groom a week in advance. I had not used Wizard of Happy Paws, but wanted to give it a try. I dropped off at 11am as scheduled, and my first impression was that they seemed very disorganized. At first, telling me that they had no appointment for my dog. They told me that it would take 2-3 hours. I returned 3 hours later only to be told that he wasn't ready. He'd only had a bath, and that "it was going to be awhile" that there were 3 other dogs in front of mine. I told them that if that was the case, then they were overscheduling. I took my dog home without being groomed. I tried calling, and they do not answer their phone either. The voicemail they have says it make take 2-3 days to get back to you. Won't ever go back here again. read more

So I have a Belgian Malinois, he has high anxiety isn't really social doesn't like men the whole works haha And we've been having trouble finding the right groomer for him. Last place I took him to he started to pee in my car as soon as we would arrive. I have not seen him let anyone pet him faster than the girl at this groomer. She took her time introducing herself to him until he felt comfy enough with her then they kept me there a little bit so he'd feel safe. After that it was all in their hands. He did great with them they had no issues I was relived and one thing I really loved was when he started to stress out they stopped his grooming and called it a day. He was already bathed and dried at this point. They care about your furry family members not just the money. I will continue coming to them since my dog felt comfortable with them and so did I because of how he was treated. read more

Today was supposed to be my first appointment. They called to let me know there was a cancellation and asked if I could bring my dog in early, so I did. The person at the front acted rushed. She was reaching for my dog and dismissing me. I told her this was my first time there and she didn't even know how I wanted her groomed. So she said, "How do you want her groomed?" I told her and let her know my dog has sensitive skin. She took her, and said, "Okay, Ashley her groomer is stuck so it will be a couple hours." I told her I didn't want my dog sitting in the kennel while Ashley was stuck and asked if I could bring her later. She assured me that she wouldn't be sitting in the kennel and she would take her back to wash her right then. So I left my dog. Her dismissive and rushed manner made me feel uncomfortable. I was worried that she would put perfume on her so I went back in to make sure that she understood. I found the person that assured me that she was taking my dog back to get washed right away visiting with the other person in the office. I told her I felt uncomfortable and being my first visit I felt like she should have been more concerned with how I wanted my dog groomed, especially because of her allergies. She told me, "You know I am a groomer and I know what I am doing. I know how to treat a dog with allergies." I told her that I was not comfortable with the situation and that I didn't want to have my dog groomed there. She told me, "I'm sorry that you feel that way." Kylo and Hera had thier first appointment today and I was pleased with the results. Huskys are fur monsters and they started shedding a ton this week. Jennifer and her crew took great care of them. Both came home feeling clean, super soft and sporting a bandana (Kylos favorite). Great price and awesome service. We will be back! One thing. Next time please do not leave the dogs alone with their leashes. Hera is a chewer and ruined her $40 leash. We have to get good ones because hes sometimes hard to walk. Thanks! read more

This place is great! Jennifer squeezed Jake in for a bath after he graciously rolled in fertilizer on our run this morning. This is the first time we've had him professionally bathed and they did a wonderful job! Upon picking him up, I immediately noticed how much softer and shinier his coat was. He smells good and looks so handsome! Cost was just what I thought it would be. Jessica and the other girl (didn't catch her name) were so very friendly. Jake took to Jessica immediately and I felt so comfortable leaving him there with her. Wonderful groomer! I brought my cockapoo, Calla, in for grooming usually every 1.5 - 2 months while I lived in Tehachapi. They were amazing and caring with handling my pup dog and she always came out looking so cute with little flowers by each ear. Even with Calla's rough mountain dog playing, those flowers would stay in for a few WEEKS! She was usually ready to be picked up in an hour and a half, compared to 4 or 5 hours at Petsmart. The price was VERY reasonable. Moreover, Calla was always in a good mood afterwards. With other groomers, she would be angry when I picked her up, and would pout for the rest of the day. Awesome! So glad i found this place, i have been looking for a groomer that could compare with one that i used when i lived out of state..and i have found that here. First i want to mention that i thought my appointment was at 11am, and come to find out i screwed up and it was at 10am. Because it was my mistake, i didn't expect them to see me that day since i showed up an hour later...but they actually still accommodated my pup, and i didn't even have to wait for a later time. The fact they did that was really appreciated. Took my two big dogs. They were so nice and professional. I have a hairy Australian shepherd and they gave him the best sanitary cut and a great clean wash to get the dirt off.
