This review is based off my experience and not influenced by any previous reviews. The vibe I got from my visit felt like they're just out to make quick cash off customers. My cat was sick and I obviously answered any questions to give the veterinarian an idea of what was wrong with him. When I tell you she wasn't in that room for more than a minute, I wish I were exaggerating. She looked into my cat's mouth for maybe 10 seconds and decided $675 worth of medications and treatments was needed. I would have probably been ok with paying that amount if I genuinely felt like she cared about my cat's health and wanted to help him. I then tried to see if I could get any of the medications without the $235 bloodwork. At least the fever reducer. The vet veterinarian said no. The bloodwork was then dropped down to $165 to send the test out to a 3rd party instead of in-house. I left this place unsatisfied with their service and luckily I already had another appointment lined up for my boy and he is doing much better. read more

The only place in town I was able to get an appointment at. Decided to go in and was helped by a younger vet tech who was really helpful in explaining everything. In all honesty the place is really expensive but my dog was better than ever after the treatment. The actual vet is usually not around he just routinely comes in but most of the work is done by the techs. The place is clean and not loud despite them having lots of dogs boarding there. Where do I start? We have two dogs that we take here. My five lb poodle we've taken twice now to have teeth extracted. The first time was fine, the second time she came back home and was very tender everywhere and would not allow us to touch her back for months and also had three prominent bumps on her back that eventually went away. There was no explanation from the office when questioned. My boxer we take for check ups and find out that she has hypothyroidism. Fine, we start her on the medication but every time we go to pick up the medication the prices go up every month and the amount of pills is wrong every single time so we begin ordering from 1 800 per meds. This office takes their time in approving the requests and usually by the time we get them my dog has been out of medication for a week and we have to buy directly from the vet and the pills are at least twice as expensive and like I said, the price changes every time. I get that being a veterinarian may have not been your first choice doc, but your office is staffed with half wits, you are negligent with my dogs, and overall your clinic is untrustworthy and taking my animals that cannot say what went wrong is sad enough, and for them to come home with a hurt back after a dental procedure is very concerning. I took my cat to this vet and she pulled back her lips because she had problems with her mouth and just looked at her gums and told me she had something that wasn't even wrong with her and gave me medicine and did exams and blood work and all the stuff and I spent over $800 and then I took her back for her follow up because she still wasn't better but the vet still didn't open her mouth and look inside And gave me more medicine and charged me over $400. I ended up having to take her to the ER vet where they did open her mouth and examine her completely and it ended up that she had mouth cancer so after all that I ended up having to have her put to sleep anyway, and that cost me another $600 the staff is very nice and friendly, but they overcharge they charge even more than the ER soI do not recommend this Vet. read more

This is going to be a very long, detailed review, but if you care anything about your pets, I encourage you to read this. I took my dog, Biscuit to be seen here yesterday. The Dr at Paws (she called herself "Dr. D") told me a bold faced lie that Biscuit had a heart murmur. Keep in mind, I had only taken him in to have a nail removed, that's literally all he needed. The Doctor at 4 Paws, informed me that he will have to have blood work done, and then be sedated, and then proceeded to tell me that he has a heart murmur and she recommends chest X-Rays to ensure there's no fluid in his chest or heart enlargement because heart murmurs can lead to all kinds of issues. Dr. D had then had her Vet Tech come back with a $1,200 vet bill to present to me. I declined all services and made an appointment with a different veterinary clinic, whom of course confirmed today that Biscuit has no evidence of a heart murmur. They thoroughly examined his heart, his lungs and found nothing other than a healthy dog that simply needed his nail clipped, which by the way, required no sedation. 4 Paws you are a disappointment and disgrace to this community and it is completely shameful and unethical that you strike fear into pet owners in an attempt to tag on outrageous fees to your vet bills. It's no wonder people protesting outside of your building a couple years ago. I honestly don't know how this business has stayed a float. Probably from the bogus charges they hand out that some pet owners may not know to raise questions about. 4 Paws is a scam. They do not care about your pets. All they care about is exploiting you into spending thousands of dollars at their vet clinic. To have a Dr. look me in the face, and lie, because that's exactly what she did, she lied about a serious condition that my dog did not even have, and placed worry into my heart, all so that they can make an extra buck, is disgusting. I want every pet owner to know this before deciding to leave your animal in the care of these people. If you want an honest, reliable vet, go to Thurman Veterinary Center. They're amazing over there.The bill I paid them today was $104, compared to the bill that 4 Paws tried to charge me, which was $1,276.91. Both bills are attached for reference. I deeply regret ever taking both my dogs to 4 Paws and will never take them there again. I will be leaving a separate review regarding the botched surgery that 4 Paws performed on my other dog, Pepper, which has left one of legs permanently damaged. 4 Paws, I hope you never have the opportunity hurt another pet again. On Monday, I met my friend at 4 Paws because her daughter's cat Perci was having trouble walking with his back legs, wasn't eating much or drinking his water... The young lady at reception was very kind and checked us in... The Vet tech that took Perci's vitals was also very nice and chatted wth us... The Veterinarian that helped us after we explained what was happening with Perci advised us that he would need a set of x-rays to ensure his leg or legs were not broken, blood work to check for infection, subcutaneous fluids to hydrate him, and since he had not had a combo test yet, the Veterinarian advised having that done as well... The charges were submitted to us, and we agreed... The Veterinarian was very kind and took care of Perci... She let us know that nothing was broken, combo test was negative and he was now hydrated...He did have a slight infection, so he was prescribed antibiotics to clear up his infection and precribed canned food to help him gain the weight he had lost~ Overall, we had a very good experience... My friend called me yesterday to tell me Perci was now able to walk with his back legs, he was eating his precribed food with his antibiotics mixed in and drinking his water... The cost of the X-rays were in line with what I believe X-rays cost along with the Chem profile as those were the major charges... The bill was about what I expected it to be, so it was not a surprise to me... I read all of the reviews and I try not to lend too much credence to negative reviews as circumstances may differ, there may be personality conflicts between customer and business employees, or one might think their bill is too high and therfore be inclined to leave a negative review... This place is the most money hungry Vet Hospital I have ever experienced. I took my dog in due to an ear infection my dog had. He was in a lot of discomfort (itching) and needed to be treated as soon as possible. My dog had dark brown discharge in his build and lots of build up that would continue daily even after I would clean it at home. Basically he needed treatment badly. I took my dog in then let me know it would $55 for the exam and from there they would let me know what he needed and how much medication would be. They gave me a whole list of things they said my dog had absolutely needed in order to be treated, they said they needed to sedate him and a bunch of other unnecessary things. All he really needed was a ear flush and some antibiotics to kill the bacteria/fungal infection. Long story short they said in order to proceed with his treatment it would be a total fee of $1383.60. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!! I immediately brought him home and began to call other vets in town and luckily I was able to find another Vet Hospital that was able to get my dog in within the next couple days and they flushed his ears, put a dissolvable medicine inside his ears and send me home with some antibiotics pills to give him every 12 hours and I was charge $129!!! I am absolutely appalled at how this vet tried to charge me over a thousand dollars for an ear infection I am so happy I took my dog elsewhere and he is home and doing soo much better now without me having to pay an arm and a leg to get him treatment. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET HOSPITAL UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO THROW AWAY !!! I took my dog in because she had been having respiratory problems and my actvet didnt have appointments until the 3week of september and I wanted her to be seen asap. Brought her here and the "Vet" did nothing but check her heart and suggest bloodwork and an xray. they ran me up $800 for this. They did blood work and took 2 hrs to do so, made me pay $500 right away before even handing me my dog back or even finishing the tests. There are pros and there are cons to this place. Pros: -Nurses were great with scheduling, I was originally scheduled for a morning apt but wanted my dad to go with me so I moved my apt to after 6. -When I arrived the staff got me right in and a nurse came to my room within minutes of our arrival to get us checked in. I wish I could remember her name because she was super helpful and sweet. -Dr. Sandhu was really nice, answered most of my questions. - The doctor and nurse were able to clip my dogs nails and clean his ears, and give him 2 shots without having to sedate him. Cons: - The only issue I had, which could have potentially been a fatal one. I was prescribed an antibiotic called 'cephalexin' which is FDA approved to be used in human and dogs. I get home. Label says cephalexin, all paperwork says cephalexin. However, the antibiotic they gave to me was a yellow capsule with the words "AMOX 500" printed on it. So I pulled up pill identifier and typed it in and it was amoxicillin 500mg. I HAVE A SEVERE CILLIN ALLERGY called anaphylaxis. Any form of contact with any type of cillin will be fatal if not treated immediately. I suppose many will read this and think, "it was for your dog not you." Correct. However, I would have to break the capsule to put it into his food and then I would get it on my hands, thus allowing it to get into my pores and then my blood stream. read more
