Dusty Paws Pet Wash & Grooming - Chispa, and Max

Dusty Paws Pet Wash & Grooming

I recently took my dog to Dusty Paws Pet Wash & Grooming after checking out their website, and I'm…read morereally glad I did. Booking was easy, and the whole place has that friendly, local vibe where you can tell they actually care about the animals. The staff was super patient and took the time to understand what I wanted for my dog instead of rushing through everything. What stood out most was how calm my dog was after the appointment. Usually grooming stresses him out, but here he seemed comfortable the whole time. They clearly handle pets with a lot of care and attention. The grooming itself turned out great--clean, neat, and exactly what I asked for. I also like that they offer little extras, so it feels more like a full pampering experience rather than just a basic wash. Overall, a really positive experience.

If I could give this place 1000 stars, I would. My dog just…read morerecently got diagnosed with kidney failure and as soon as I found out I knew I had to book a photoshoot for her. Hands down the girls at this place from the owner to the groomers, 100000000000% amazing. I called and the owner immediately just listened to me and accommodated everything I needed. As soon as I got there the girls knew exactly about the situation. They all had amazing communication and booked me with the same groomer from last time. Which also she did an amazing job on too!!! Ugh I just can't stress how great this place and these girls are. Oh also the best part, I asked if they can save some of cocos hair so that I can as it as stuffing for a teddy bear or something and they not only saved it but also gave me a cute hand made Polaroid! I started tearing up. Thank you thank you thank you! You guys are seriously amazing!

I just used Happy Trails Pets for the first time this past week to board my 65 Lab. Happy Trails…read moreis a co-op with Farmer Paul's Ranch. You drop-off in the San Fernando Valley and then they shuttle the dogs to a huge 65 acre ranch out near Tehachapi, CA with plenty of room for the dogs to run free. (Their website shows pictures.) I had my Lab there for 3 days and when he got home he pretty much just slept in the same place for almost a full day. He was wore out! (This is a good thing.) You drop your dog off at a house in the Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles. This is just west of the 2 Fwy and north of the 5 fwy. The house is very indiscriminate at the end of a cul-de-sac. There isn't any signage, and almost looks abandon. I wish the signage was better, but since it's a residential area, I'm sure there is an ordnance against having the sign. I think even if they put a small mailbox type sign it would help. It would also help with a bit more instructions on the drop-off process, and parking situation. All and all the experience was good, and my dog was nice and bathed at pick up. You pay first, which is new to me, but I kind of like it because it makes the pick-up so much easier and FASTER. I only gave 3 stars at this point because I want to use them a few more times. (It's just a dog-parent thing. Have to be sure before giving them the 4 star treatment.) I'm sure you'll understand. Edit: I did just find out that my dog caught kennel cough on this visit. Now I understand that this could theoretically happen at any boarding establishment, but what I didn't like here is that it wasn't mentioned to me at all that he had the cough when he was doing it in front of the staff at pick-up. I didn't know it was kennel cough because I had never heard it before. So that didn't sit well with me that I wasn't informed. I'd board with them again in a pinch, but I'm not sure it would be my first choice. I've since changed to a 2 star rating.

This place is horrible. First, they do not supply an address or location for the business online…read more When I called to request to come view the ranch, as I do not want to just leave me dog anyplace, the guy that answered the phone was extremely rude. He claimed that he was so busy over the next few weeks with "family stuff" and his customers usually make appointments 30 days in advance. Really? That is crazy to require a 30-day advance notice! I don't have that type of time on my hands and it is not unusual for someone to leave town unexpectedly. He quoted me $30 although it clearly states $25 on the website and he had the nerve to tell me that I need to plan ahead in the future. Ummm, I think 2 weeks is enough planning for me, sir. Avoid this place at all cost. Anyplace that needs to hide their address, only have cell phones for "business" phones (which, by the way, go to the answering machine most of the time) and do not take RSVP over the phone should not be in this type of business.
