This place is a good size and has plenty of pool tables. Thursday they have a pool tournament which was pretty entertaining. I sat up top by the bar so I had a pretty good view of the place. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the drinks are pretty good. I had Ish as my bartender. The food was just that....bar food but at least you won't starve. The wings had great flavor but were overcooked. I also had the Tex mex egg rolls and they were ok. Wish they had an avocado ranch but instead they gave me a chile sweet and sour which was tasty. Upon leaving I realized I knew the security guard which was cool. I'll be back as I love the vibe and you can control the music. I'll have to try something else from the menu next time! read more

the only reason im leaving a star is because the bartender was wonderful and was very charismatic. i had to grab my own food from the heat lamps by the bathroom myself and it was cold by the time i grabbed it. there were 9 drinks on our tab that had nothing to do with us that the bartender apologized for (i understand he was busy its a friday night) also wasnt told at all when i asked for a pool table that it would be 20 dollars. the girl running the tables was not informative and rude at that. when i asked for my id back i was told i "walked my tab on the table but someone else paid it". i dont mind paying for services but this was sub par at best. i work in the service industry and i understand how it can get, but this was ridiculous. read more

Dive bar with delicious tater tots and great service! Despite being a Kansas City Chiefs bar (lol!), Wizards in Richardson surprised me with its awesome customer service and tasty food. The star of the show was definitely the stuffed tater tots. We had the jalapeño and chive, and they were fried to absolute perfection. Soft, pillowy, and delicious with ranch - I could have eaten a whole plate myself! We also tried the tacos (a bit dry but quick) and the wings (decent). The drink special was a nice surprise too: Crown and Down Wednesdays for $4 is a pretty sweet deal for whiskey lovers! Wizards definitely has a dive bar vibe with plenty of space and pool tables. The food was good overall, but those tater tots were the real highlight. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you're in the mood for some comfort food and a casual atmosphere. read more

Wow! This place has so much potential but the bartenders don't look up, They look down(eyes down) , they don't notice people with no drinks, "are you good!" lol. When it should be, "can I get you another drink? Or what can I get you?" One took my empty glass and walked away. Such a good location and interior but the bartenders need better training. My partner discovered what appeared to be a partially smoked blunt inside their beer after already consuming approximately half of the drink. This is an extremely concerning health and safety issue, as it exposed them to an unknown (illegal in texas) foreign substance without their knowledge or consent. When the issue was brought to the attention of the server, she apologized, and while the professionalism is appreciated. This incident raises significant concerns about their food and beverage safety procedures and how something like this could have occurred. We were informed the incident would be investigated​, however didn't hear anything further after being told this. We drove up to Wizards for the first time today to watch the Chiefs on TV, since the local networks were not carrying the game. Our experience was a mixed bag: The best parts: Hundreds of loud, enthusiastic Chiefs fans, combining to create an experience as close to going to the game in real life as possible. Could have been better: Uncomfortable seating with sketchy views of the (dozens of) TV scattered all about. Pretty much all conventional dining tables are prereserved, leaving only a little seating at makeshift covered pool tables and some backless bar stools scooted up to a thin table that ran the length of one of the spacious viewing rooms. Food and drinks were ordinary, with close to market prices for this kind of venue. The nachos were sloppily constructed, the burger overcooked, and the fries cold, kind of understandable for a place with limited servers and hundreds of customers. We will likely not be returning any time soon, accordingly. read more

We met friends at Wizard's Sports Cafe for the 2023/2024 Superbowl, and it was packed, both inside and outside. To accommodate more patrons, they covered most of the pool tables and placed folding chairs for additional seating. The restaurant allowed tailgating in the parking lot during football season. I have been to this place several times. If you are a whisky lover, you should come on Wednesdays. They have what is called Whisky Wednesdays, which is $4 specials on several different types of Whisky, even Jameson. They also have decent food, plenty of tvs to watch sports, or you can play pool. Before I start, I want to say I was only planning to stop by to charge my phone. I don't know the Richardson area too well except for when I pass through occasionally, and I was trying to get somewhere nearby. I didn't see the gate, so I stopped here instead. When I walked in, the vibe was cool and unique. I've never actually seen a bar like this before in person, only in movies, and I know that sounds corny and cliché. The self-service setup caught me off guard at first because I was looking for someone to help me. As soon as I got to the bar was helped immediately. Then I decided to order some food while I waited and Man..... Let me tell you, these were the best Thai chili wings I've ever had in my life. That flavor isn't even my usual go-to, it's a secondary favorite, but now it might be number one. I only eat wings at sports bars to see who can really deliver, and whoever is in the kitchen deserves major credit for cooking those wings. The sauce was so good, I'll probably still be thinking about it well into the new year. I also want to give a shout-out to the bartender. I never got her name, but she was so sweet. She was very hard-working, and attentive. She knew what I wanted before I even asked. Her service was genuinely great and added to the experience. Everyone here was cool and the place had such a welcoming energy. I definitely want to bring a couple of friends back here. Even though we're not from the area, it's worth the drive. I love how set up with the in the center and plenty of seating for groups, or a date night out with your Boo. The atmosphere is call, truly inclusive and represents all adult ages with karaoke on an epic system and DJ's to keep the vibe lit. Hookahs are available to rent for your table, and most important the Food is always delicious. From the pizza to the wings, you find something magical about the food. However, the Bartenders are not attentive and getting a drink, even while sitting at the bar is more difficult than it needs to be. The bartender service brings downs the I stall experience and they need to work on this. Every-time I go, it's like the Bartenders only cater to a certain demographic of a patron. If you are a local who has been coming for a long time I'm sure its a great place. If you are new to Dallas find somewhere else to do. They have a weird reservation system that apparently isn't known to those who answer the phones. Literally told me that she doesn't know how it works, its done months in advance and it might be done via Facebook. Friends and I took down a multitude of shots at this smoky sports bar, where I was introduced to Vegas bombs - quite refreshing - played pool (where I got hustled by a little lady), and managed to leave without getting into a fight with anyone. Considering it was a weekday, a healthy crowd filled the place. And Wizard's isn't small. Thanks to Mark and Cara for their hospitality, and a hilariously raucous night. My boyfriend and his friend went there for a few drinks and to play pool. Our friend had a typical drink and my boyfriend ordered the same thing but his was overpoured; it was mostly alcohol. The bartender continued to do this two more times till my boyfriend was stumbling to the car. The friend was able to get home safely but we had to get back into the car and take my boyfriend to ER with alcohol poisoning. The manager was cool about everything, offered to Uber them but i think something needs to happen to that bartender, just not okay. read more
