We had a cracked garbage receptacle that needed to be replaced. We contacted WM Tucson to replace them and they said we would have it by Saturday 1/8/22. It's now 1/16/22 and we have no new garbage can. Our trash is just sitting inside our garage. Pretty disappointed and frustrated. read more

So, after my initial review, WM called and made things right. It's good to see a company that wants happy customers. I would consider using them again in the future. I've always had excellent service with WM in the 3 years I had them (trash pick-up & with phone calls), so I was a little shocked over the removal fee which wasn't explained to me when I called and cancelled. Be advised if you cancel, this removal service fee does exist. So it would probably be better just to transfer your service (if available) to your new location and bring your Trash bins with you. Or at least get on the phone and try to work something out with WM. read more

I called waste management meant to find out the procedures for recycling electronics. The lady could not answer any of my questions. She could not bring it up on her computer. And told me to go to their website and I could read it for myself. Very poor customer service. The pick up and hauling of waithe hauling of waste products is handled very well by waste management. Waste Management has officially taken the cake for the absolute worst company I have ever had the misery to deal with. Brand new customer, 8 phone calls, 8 different reps including a floor supervisor and I cannot get a single one of them to care about my trash pick up, or lack there of. Promises to email me or call me back have never been followed through with so here I am sitting on hold for 18 minutes and still no one has picked up my trash, two missed pick ups and I'm a brand new customer. I live in a normal subdivision with hundreds of houses, I'm not hard to find, there's no reason for them not to simply pick up my trash, what I'm paying them to do. Nope! Too much to ask I guess. The trash pickup service from Waste Management has become pathetic. They don't show up on our regular trash pickup days, then they promise to send trucks out to make up for the missed pickups, and the trucks don't show up as promised. We end up dragging our bins up and down the hills in our neighborhood for no reason, because their trucks don't show up. Then we're stuck with our trash for days in the Arizona heat. If you want a trash service you can't count on, this is the company for you. read more

They're great at taking our money, but not so great at picking up our garbage. They missed picking up our garbage yesterday so I called their automated system which indicated they were still going to pick up our garbage. At 10PM and still no pick up I brought the garbage back in to prevent the javelinas from knocking the bin over and scattering our trash throughout the neighborhood. I call again this AM and they indicate that the service has been completed. Of course there's no customer service on the weekends, so we're stuck with a full bin for another week. I'd call WM to have them pick themselves up, but they'd probably forget since they are trash. read more

This company has no concept of proper customer service. They ask you to leave your container out before 6am and it takes them 48-72 hrs to pick up your trash, claiming it was not by the curb? You call to voice your concern and get told the driver took a picture of your container 6 feet NEXT to your car (not behind it) or they go to a different address all together and take a picture of that address. (are the drivers drunk?) After giving them 3 different opportunities to get the service right (and still don't) you call to cancel and get told they are going to charge $75 dollars to pick up their containers!?!? When there is NO contract? This experience is everything BUT "world class"! read more

I've been paying WM for 25 years for what has been barely adequate service and continually increasing costs. For three months I tried to have the broken container replaced, but no joy after numerous calls. I finally cancelled the contract last October. Despite the cancellation, WM still charged my account. After numerous rounds with customer "service", those charges were reversed, but now new charges are showing up on a cancelled contract. I'm surprised there haven't been class-action lawsuits against this company. If you are unfortunate enough to do business with them, be aware that it will be impossible to avoid their shoddy and unethical practices. read more

Have been with WM for the last 8yrs. Our prices were continuously rising. People in the same neighborhood were able to negotiate the price $45. The lowest they could do for us was $120. My account got mixed up with auto pay issues. It was set up initially via phone call to start service then it got turned off for some reason. No paper invoice or online invoice ever received. Recently got a notice via email to pay $112.00. Not sure what that pays but suspect it's for can & to start service. Never been billed before or since. Repeated calls today to resolve problems. However, Freddy would not accept my calls & just hung up. After three trys I gave up. Finally called & got Regina. She tried to help me but her 'system' was down. She transferred me & I then got a message they were closed. In the end, I was able to set up on their website & received confirmation emails. Unbelievably frustrating customer service. I hope Freddy is addressed by his manager. read more

Ordered service with waste management fairly easily. A very strong monsoon storm made my trash can disappear called to get a replacement. New trash can never got delivered even though the customer service rep told us it had been delivered and they had photographic evidence. Cancelled service and were still charged for the month even though they had not provided any service for that month. Would not recommend. read more

Waste Management Arizona is terrible. They have failed to pick up my trash 3 times in the last 12 months. When I call their support number, they never answer. After failing that, I went to their web site and tried chat. By doing that at least you get a response but you can believe it. Each time they promised to send the driver back to pick up my trash and the driver never did show up. So I had to haul the trash can back to my garage so it would get bothered my animals and try again the next day. The support people were very apologetic each time but nothing happened. So ultimately, I had to pursue the matter the next day and waste more time. So bottom line, if you can find another trash disposal company in your area, try them. They can not be any worse than Waste Management. I am currently exploring other options and my ultimately, just haul my own trash to the closest disposal site myself twice a month. I am tired of paying for a service that you can not depend on!!!!!!!! read more

I just started service with WM and the initial bill was over twice what I was quoted and the monthly rate 11% higher. When I called to complain they said it was a teaching opportunity for the person who misquoted me. I wonder. The quoted prices were less than Republic Service, but the actual is higher. Republic also has all in one recycling, WM does not accept most plastics. So Republic is not only cheaper it's better for the environment. Is WM doing a bait and switch sales technique? Not currently a customer of Waste Management but have been in past for several years. Was just considering a return to WM until I read they still play the "fuel surcharge" game, a creative way of padding their billing and making like everyone does it, too. Well, there is some truth that as my Republic Trash company also pads their bill with a fuel surcharge. One article recently read notes that fuel surcharges continued their climb even as pump prices dramatically declined. These companies have no conscience which means when their bogus up- charges should be reversed, they simply ignore the statistical changes on fuel prices to their own greedy benefit. In short, they pretend they didn't notice the decline in fuel charges and we continue to pay the ever-escalating surcharges. To many the system is hopelessly confusing and they just roll over and pay. If I ever find a trash hauler without the surcharges, I'm their next customer! And, by the way, charging an initial fee to sign up new customers is also a scam. Do these companies think they shouldn't have to pay anything to do business? Suck it up! Pay your own darn sign-up fees. It's a business and there are some expenses involved for doing business, too!! read more

They charged me between $125-$190 every quarter for 8 years while I lived alone and was a struggling college student and didn't realize I was being overcharged until last week when a good friend told me they pay $20-$25 every quarter with RAD company. My other friend who has RAD pays $40. So Waste managent has overcharged a struggling woman thousands of dollars. (I have not added it up yet, but I think it between 8-10,000 over the past 8 years) when I called to tell them. The only offered to give me three quarters for free, and lower my rate to $60. Very disappointed in waste Management in Marana Az. First, there quote was not correct when I received my first. I have paid over $200.00 just in set up fee's over the past 3 months only to receive my first quarterly bill and he be higher. They have missed my recycle on weeks, then they miss my trash this week with the driver saying the can was to close to vehicle when it was over 4 ft away from it. I have been a loyal customer to Waste Management for years and never had any problems in Denver like I have been having here since starting service the middle of December. I feel duped. If I can find different trash service I will be switching. read more

The phone system is very confusing, with both residential and commercial accounts using the same phone number and it is difficult to get to the right department in order to setup new service. The system assumes that you already have an account. The website and cart system only show pickup charges based on size and do not clearly state the setup, early termination and other fees. It looked like the contract commits you to a year, but they can change the price at any time. Luckily, I called and asked questions about billing before signing up and then decided to look elsewhere for service. read more

Give them a call but be prepared to wait 30 minutes while they tell you you don't have an account even after they have taken your money, disconnect you, and blame it on your connection. Call back. I missed a payment (by accident) and when I received an email notice, I promptly paid the bill including late charges. Two days later I received a letter in the mail stating I'd have to pay a reinstatement charge of $50. My recent bill for the next quarter arrived last week, the price had doubled, from the old $75 dollar a quarter charge to $156.98. We have one bag of garbage a week, and some recycling. Both bins are much too large for our community (single story senior housing). I'm done with WM, there is too much competition out there for their attitude. read more

Waste Management has earned yet another low-as-you-can-go review. The customers service is simply not acceptable. Three times (in about 5 weeks) they did not pick up my trash. When called they said the driver said the can wasn't there and left a note for customer service. This simply was not true. It keeps happening and they always have a excuse. They tell me they will come by the next day and get it but that never happens either. It's always the next pickup day before they pick it up. This is a breach of contract. They are not fulfilling their contract to haul my trash. If you are new to the area you'll be much happier to find another company that really wants the job. read more

This company is overpriced with a lot of hidden fees. Asked how much my bill would be and was told $70 and wouldn't get a bill for 3 months. A week later got a bill for $91. Called another local company $58 for same service no hidden fees and only $20 not $60 to setup service and deliver cans. Called waste management to cancel my service and was told to they would pick up cans on 31st. They didn't pick them up. I called them again and was told they weren't scheduled to pick up or cancel my service. This company needs to wake up before one of these smaller companies runs them out of business. I wish there was any other waste service provider in my area. Waste Management is the worst. I was able to set up internet, power, water, all my utilities in minutes. I just started using waste management after moving to Sahuarita. Everything was fine until they decided not to pick up my recycle after thanksgiving. We had no idea why. So we sent them a message and their response was they tried. They took a photo of my trash can on my curb and said they could not pick it up because it was placed in a location where a car parked. However the car was only next to the can not in front of it. So the driver takes a photo, and they leave it. They don't say a damn word. And apparently I'm responsible for where people park on a public street. Totally pissed me off, and now I'm looking at using a competitor. I don't understand how this is good practice. Get your lazy ass out the truck if you have to and pick up the trash. It was not my fault someone parked too close to your can. And I can't stop them either. Waste Management then ignored my reply regarding public parking and didn't attempt to pick up our full can until the next week on the normal service day. To Waste Management- no thank you. You don't get to ignore my concern then address it after changing service to save face with the rest of the community that looks on Yelp. I don't believe that you are sincere, or your company would have fixed it before I got to the point of cancellation. You should value each customer and address each concern not treat them as your reps did me. read more

I just moved to Green Valley area. I had Waste Management before at my old place in Vail. Let me start with this. We moved into our home the beginning of the first week of September. I requested to have the dumpster delivered before that Tuesday so I can place trash in, it was delivered that Wednesday. Now to the issue, the first Pickup they missed it. I called them and explained the situation and they told me they would do a courtesy pickup within 24-48 hours. Well Thursday came around and still no pickup. I called again and they said they couldn't get a driver out, so I've them another 24-48 hours. End of Saturday rolled around and still no pickup. Now by this time I spoke to someone and they explained they don't have a driver in the area. The lady specifically told me they would try to get someone in the area by Monday. I told them I need it to happen because I have so much trash piled up, as soon as they pick up I'll be able to refill it again! She explained it was noted on the account. Now by Monday afternoon, nobody picked up the trash so I called again, they explained no driver was in the area so they were going to have their driver pick up the trash Tuesday but do a double pickup to cover the excess trash. So Tuesday morning, I have ALL my trash outside the house and next to the dumpster. By 6:30am the trash guy comes to my house, I turn around to grab one last box from my garage and when I get to my garage I hear him drive off! The guy literally saw my 4 boxes of trash next to the trash can and ignored it and drove off! I'm sorry by this point I am pissed off! I call Waste management immediately to report this, the lady filed a complaint against the driver and explains she is putting a mandatory pickup for my residence. So by this she assures me it will be picked up by the end of business of 6pm. By 3pm nobody has came so I contacted them again and spoke to Supervisor by the name of Brook. She lets me know she is going to contact dispatch for my area to get a pickup and call me back. When she calls me back she apologizes that she cannot get a drive out by Tuesday but does assure me it will all be handled by Wednesday. Wednesday morning we receive a phone call from Waste Management assuring someone will pick up the trash and to insure we have it outside our property. By 12pm on Wednesday I call them again and report it has not been picked up by anyone, the rep explains the driver has to go out of his way to pick it up, and that he can be at my residence anytime between 6am-6pm and the notes are specific insuring it will be picked up. Well I just got home and it's 7:50pm and guess what... the trash is still outside my house nobody picked it up! Needless to say, worst service, worst business and very unprofessional. I will be contacting them tomorrow to have them pick up my trash, their dumpster and cancel my services! No wonder many people on my street don't use them! If you live in this area, please look into other companies don't go for Waste Management right away! read more

I am continually frustrated with WM service. Within the past few months (and in earlier occasions) my trash was not picked up on my appointed day. Once again the excuse was that my bins were not in place for pickup. On each occasion, that was the recorded excuse. During the most recent failed pickup, the WM local operator said that someone would be there the following day to pick up the trash. They did not! When calling once again, I was told that the trash would not be picked up until the next week. During all of this time, I have at least one barrel filled immediately after the pickup, so at least one bin would be out days before the scheduled pickup (just yard debris), my second bin would be out the morning of the pickup. And yet, on each occasion I was told the bins were not there. Definitely not true. Coincidentally, the cameras were not on during any of these occasions! I am elderly, I have a very long driveway uphill, so taking the full bins out to the pickup is a challenge for me, and it is literally uphill. Now, for the past week I have the bins sitting out roadside. It has been very windy, blowing the covers open. We have both coyotes and javelinas just waiting to knock over the bins and having a treat. Then I have a mess to clean up. It is my impression that the driver wanted a smoke break and just decided to skip my service. Calling each time produced absolutely no results. I have been fed excuses and apologies, but no corrective action. As soon as available, I will consider alternate services. read more

This company on occasion doesn't pick up on the day they are supposed to. For instance, last week our pick up day is Friday. On Friday we received notification they would delay pick up till Saturday. They didn't show up and all of our recycle bins are still out on the street and its Monday with no communication from Waste Management. I called them this morning and was put on hold for 20 minutes. Finally a representative came on the line. I told her our dilemma and she put me on hold and then the line went dead. Still no answers. We're going to see if there is another company in the area who does a better job. We do not recommend this company. read more

I've been using WM for 3 years and have had an "excellent" experience with them. Over the years, they have infrequently missed a pickup, but when notified, they were quick to pickup the next business day. I have a long descending driveway, so I pay for the driver to pickup my cans from the bottom of my driveway; empty them; and return them to the bottom of my driveway. Most of the missed pickups have been due to a new or fill in driver that was not aware of his responsibility to pickup from the bottom of my driveway. All in all, they've been very dependable. read more

Waste Mgt has open policy contract, which means you pay three months in advance and receive no prorated refund if you can cancel service early. No option for month to month. In my case paid June 15, $79.65, for three months and scheduled cancellation July 15. There is 0 refund from them. Now I know why there are three other garbage pickups servicing Tucson and Oro Valley. Be wise, choose one of the other three companies. read more

Waste Management sucks. Not only do they charge more, they pick up recycle on a separate day than normal trash. That means we have to take trash out twice a week. We called and they could not assist at all. We discontinued and went with Right Away Disposal. The cans blend with the desert and they charge one simple fee, $42 for a quarter. NO HIDDEN fees! Both recycle and trash the SAME day like it should be. Then WM has missed picking up their cans two weeks in a row. It's like they're trying to punish us for quitting their service.
