I've noticed that Guthries was franchising so hoped one day I would be somewhere I could try it. Well today is the day. I'm just going to summarize my feeling right now. I do not want more restaurants with bland chicken and a special sauce. Just stop with the sauce, season the bird! I went in, ordered at the counter, sat down and waited about ten minutes for my order. The chicken was a little overcooked and could use some seasoning. The crinkle fries were crisp but just were not hitting and I like the crinkle style. The toast was properly cooked but was limp. Ok Guthries is a known tradition, people like, but it is not for me.

All the bagels were really soft and chewy, too much so for me. The service was good, and the staff are friendly (4.5/5). The interior of the restaurant is well decorated and seems like a good spot to meet up (4/5)!

This coffee and bagel shop doesn't have true competition around, so for local patrons the options are limited. So the team decided to handwrite our order (which then led to us receiving an incorrect order on top of a long wait) Now the food itself I give it a 4/5 (this is the potential part) As for the staff & ambiance/ atmosphere: 1/5 The staff was kind but they did not have the tools to be set up for success. To the management, stop making your staff look bad. We want to support and see yall flourish so please invest in their training and better pos technology to streamline the bottleneck at the counter. The flounder was amazing. I'm a picky eater so I was nervous about the garnishes on it, but it was half the best part! While the staff was friendly, their concern for safe food handling practices were nonexistent. It was like getting served by a toddler putting together play food in their make believe kitchen. I was truly astonished. At the end of the meal, I glanced and saw the health score and if I recall, their score was in the 70s. I've since looked at their health score history and see they have no intent in changing behaviors of cleanliness, as they've been repeat offenders of improper holding food temperature, cross contamination, and use of open container beverages among food prep areas. They once threw away my receipt without asking if I want it, THEN decided to ask if I wanted it, and I said "I did but it's fine", and instead of accepting my decline or reprinting the receipt, they FISH IT OUT OF THE TRASH AND GIVE IT TO ME. Found multiple short, black, curly hairs in my milkshake. And while those were all on separate occasions, here is something that happens without fail at EVERY ZAXBY'S location. You pay for every single sauce you get, and THEN THEY DON'T GIVE THEM. Most fast food chains at least let you have a couple free sauces and charge you for excessive amounts. But Zaxby's charges for every individual sauce. And then you find that it's not in your bag or any of your boxes. I think it's ridiculous to charge for a 1 tablespoon serving of sauce in the first place, but then to hold them hostage from customers is insane. It happens so much I almost think the managers TELL their employees to do this so that they can make a couple extra bucks. The workers are always cold and miserable towards you. No matter how many times you say "thank you", "good evening", "have a good day", it's always the same. And I know it's not just my bad luck either, I've never heard anything good about the Cartersville Zaxby's. I got my blood drawn the other week, and the workers were talking lunch, and upon someone suggesting Zaxby's, another worker shared that they got food poisoning from this location recently.... I don't understand why anyone would ever want to go here. Price is higher than a cat's ass for the worst service you'll ever receive.
