I was pleasantly surprised that they had large sizes. I was helped by Belle, who really took her time with me. Bought 2 bras and a bikini. My fault that I didn't try on the bottom when I was there as it ended up being too small. The bras: when I looked were fitted a size down of what I usually am. One is fine, the other didn't tack close enough and looked strange under my clothes. Again- I should have ascertained this while I was there as I didn't notice the "all sales final" policy. An exchange would have been great. WOB has a nice selection and knowledgeable staff- just wished they had an exchange policy. I went to WOB Lingerie (River Edge, NJ) to purchase a specific type of bra for my mother of the bride attire. There is a sign in the store that says you must pay a "consultation fee". If you make a purchase the fee goes towards your purchase. While many might find the fee a bit much, I did not. The time and care that they gave me would have been worth the fee. They made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in the door. I am a very conservative person lol. The service of sizing and making sure that I was looking at the right type of bra as I described what I needed but not sure what that actually was, they were there to help. I first met Rebecca a young girl who really knew her stuff. She made me feel completely at ease and before I knew it we were sharing stories like we were old friends. The owner also was there helping and laughing with me and Rebecca. She was a lovely woman who also tended to my needs explained the difference in the bras and which was best for the outfit I was purchasing it for. The visit I am sure would have been a lot quicker if it wasn't for the 3 of us chatting like we were old lifelong friends. Would I go back again? Absolutely! Does the consultation fee bother me? Not in the least bit. We pay for services and that is exactly what I got there. Had I not purchased the bra, I would have had to pay for the service they provided which was measuring me and finding me the right size/type bra and with that information I could have gone to any store with and wasted their time. I compare this to taking my computer to the computer store have them run diagnostics on my computer to tell me what is wrong with it and charging me for that information and if I use them for repair the money for the diagnostic tests would go towards the repair of my computer. Same here with the consultation and measurements. You don't buy the bra you still have the right sizing that they took the time to do for you (a service they provide that should not be free). Again, if you purchase the bra there is no consultation fee. I highly recommend this shopping with WOB Lingerie. They know their stuff. They have a very nice selection. I had heard of WOB at least 20 years ago and just made it there in February. LOOOONNNNGGGGG overdue! So is this post but better late than never, I hope. I always wanted to be professionally fitted for bras and did just that at Victoria's Secret and Dillards. The Victoria's Secrets bras were good until I lost alot of weight, then they just drooped on me. Dillards told me I was wearing the wrong size ALL of my life and tried to put me into a very small, uncomfortable size. I returned all of those bras. Fast forward to WOB. I walked in and was told about the consultation fee right up front and told Patty what I was looking for. She listened to me, measured me and brought me her suggestions. I told her I wasn't exactly comfortable with the first few bras and she continued to listen closely and came back with THE PERFECT BRA. Then I told her I was also interested in sports bras and she found the perfect one of those, also. Then I described the type of underpants I was looking for and she brought me samples, telling me what size she thought I needed. I disagreed and we settled on a larger size, which just made me feel comfortable. I felt listened to; cared for and satisfied. I bought 2 of THE PERFECT BRAS, 2 of the sports bras and 6 pairs of underwear. They even sold me an extra PERFECT BRA for 1/2 price, and sent one of the sports bras to my home as they did not have my color at the Wyckoff store. It is 5 months later and I am still loving each of my purchases and am grateful for the way that Patty listened to me and that Mitch the owner was so accommodating on the 1/2 price bra and mailing. My sister in law who had a baby recently went in there to look around. She was not fitted for a bra but did try on a few. She didn't see anything she liked so she went to leave and was told she owed $55 for the consultation. There was no consultation or fitting. Not was she told up front if she shopped there would be a fee if she didn't buy something. She tried to leave and the guy called the cops. On my sister in law who is a new mom and a seasoned full time working professional. He threatened to press charges and have her arrested. For $55. She was so hysterical that she finally paid it so she could leave....after TWO HOURS of being detained. Over a $55 fee. For nothing. They need to be shut down. We wish we had read all the reviews posted on WOB. I would have never suggested my wife come here at all. We have experienced all that you are saying to the "T", literally note-for-note. Shopped @ the Wyckoff location today, made a purchase and realized after that "all sales are final" regardless of the fact that the ladies working there did nothing to explain how things work in the store. Came home, wife tried with outfit, wasn't comfortable and called to see if they would take it back. They were not very helpful nor willing to take a return regardless of the fact we were there 30 minutes after calling for resolution. They offered another of the same which she felt wasn't going to work for her. Will never come back, will make sure we spread the word to everyone we know. Stay far away from this business! They really have little concept of customer service and quote honestly their response was defensive, dismissive and a real shame in today's climate of retail shopping. I had a wonderful experience today at WOB. My daughter and I were greeted at the door and immediately helped. My daughter has grown quite a bit following puberty and was extremely uncomfortable in her current bra and bathing suits. This is the first time I have taken to the internet to complain about a store, but I feel I must. I am sure some people on here have had positive experiences at WOB (World of Bras) in Wyckoff, but my daughter and I just had the worst shopping experience of our lives. I wish I could give it zero stars but that is not an option. We were greeted by two snippy and condescending women who kept repeating that they charge $55 for a bra size fitting, which they will waive if we buy a bra, but if we don't purchase anything, they will charge us $55. The man sitting on the couch (owner?) kept interrupting them loudly to repeat said information and ask if I had read their signs that I will be charged $55 if we don't buy a bra.The women took her back for a "fitting" but never actually measured her, then kept telling her bras fit when they clearly didn't. The man got on the phone and was screaming at someone about how he was not going to pay for their services and wanted to speak with a manager. I decided to shop while I was there, so I took two bras off the wall and headed to a dressing room. A third woman came out of nowhere and stopped me and said, "What do you think you are doing?" I said I wanted to try on 2 bras. She said I couldn't do that without assistance. I said I don't need a fitting or consultation, and she grabbed the bras from me and said I am not allowed to try anything on without an employee getting the bras for me. I have never been to a bra shop with this rule, so it simply hadn't occurred to me that I couldn't shop by myself. Meanwhile, I saw the two other women hovering over my daughter's dressing room and heard her ask, "Can you give me some space? I don't need both of you in the dressing room with me. I will show you the bra after I get it on." One of the women made a face and said, "I was just coming to get you. I simply can't work with your daughter." The guy was still yelling at someone on the phone, but he put it down to come over and yell at us too. He started screaming, "What are you doing? You can't get bras on your own! Didn't you read the sign? Didn't you read the sign!?" I said, "What sign?" Then he pointed to the sign that says "Please wait for assistance." I said, "I did, and my daughter is being helped, but I don't need a fitting. I just wanted to try on some bras." He told me I had made a mess, which was a flat-out lie. I simply removed two bras from a rack without dropping anything or moving anything out of place. Then, he started screaming, "GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY STORE RIGHT NOW! GET OUT!!!" I said, "I would be happy to leave, but my daughter is naked at the moment, so I need to wait for her to get dressed." He said, "GET OUT OF MY STORE RIGHT NOW! GO BACK AND DRESS HER AND GET OUT." I said, "My daughter is eighteen. She's an adult. She can dress herself." His response was: "I DON'T CARE HOW OLD SHE IS. GO GET HER DRESSED AND GET OUT OF MY STORE!!!" As we were walking out of this horrible place, he yelled after us, "WHY DON'T YOU GO TO MACY'S, SWEETHEART?!!" The reason we went to WOB is my daughter is very petite but has large breasts, so we have a extremely hard time finding the right fit at normal stores and needed a specialty bra shop. When we got into the car, my daughter started crying because of how she was treated. We drove to Soma at Paramus Park and a lovely young lady named Sam spent a long time with my daughter. Another equally wonderful employee named Tammy helped me. We bought bras, PJs, dresses, leggings, and nightgowns. When we walked into WOB, the condescending employees seemed to question whether or not we could afford to shop there. Clearly, we could, because we spent $732 in Soma. WOB lost out on a good customer. I will never set foot in WOB again. Horrifying experience. The woman who helped me at Soma said she took her daughter there prior to working at Soma, and said that the staff, including the man, were extremely rude and were body-shaming her teenager, asking why she had a bit of belly. UPDATE: There are now close to 650 comments on my review on Bergen County Moms FB group. There is story after story on there written by people who had equally bad experiences at WOB, or worse. People complained about the rude service, being yelled at, and others left crying. Others complained about getting ill-fitting bras and not being allowed to return or exchange. The WOB employee who wrote a comment below has been harassing me all week to edit my post on Yelp because her daughter was one of the salespeople. Since I did not edit my post, she decided to go on here and speak poorly of my daughter. The salespeople at Soma can attest that my daughter was easy to work with. What she said about me yanking things off racks and making a mess of the displays is a COMPLETE lie. I gently removed 2 bras and did not touch a single display. Following a recent breast check up on Monday, my doctor recommended that I begin wearing bras without an underwire. I have always supported local small businesses so of course, without a thought I went to WOB as I have for many years to purchase a bra. It was suggested by my doctor to look at Warner bras without underwire. When I entered the store and was asked what was I looking for, the owner told me they do not carry Warner, but more expensive bras. I know this as I always purchase my very $$$ bras from this store. He proceeded to show me a couple of bras and asked one of his assistants to help me. When she asked my size, I said can you measure me? She "measured me" by "sight" without a tape measure. She brought me two different bras which I tried on, one was preferred over another, however the fit was not quite right. Because I was pressed for time, I said I would return the next day as I was in a rush to get to work........I thanked her and left the store only to be called back by the owner. He told me I needed to pay the consultation fee of $55 because I did not buy a bra. I guess I never realized this policy as anytime I have been in there I always made a purchase of a bra. This was not a bra consultation......."sight measurement" is not a consultation, and not for $55. He then went into verbal attack mode and accused me of scoping out bras so that I could order them online! I responded by saying I do not order clothing, most especially bras online. He said I "don't believe you" Really? It was clear he was not able to control his anger regarding people coming in to "scope" out bras. He raised his arms in the air a few times when shouting at me. All this display of unethical business practice in front of the two young girls that were in his employ. I looked at them both and advised them to seek employment from an employer that could teach them effective sales skills and respectful customer service practice. I am a business owner myself and I speak from a place of experience. Is this how someone in business should treat their patrons? Without writing a book on the 10 minutes I spent defending myself, I left there visibly shaken. Clearly this man should not be in business to serve the public. I will NEVER return to this store, which has been my go to for myself and daughter for all our bra needs since the Ridgewood Corset shop sadly closed years ago. Apparently you can't give 0 stars because that's what I would have done. LESS THAN NO STARS!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!!! The absolute worst place ever. Their policy is that if you are in the store for more than 30 minutes and do not purchase one of their very expensive bras, you are charged a $55 "consultation fee". Mind you, they do not measure you. There is no consultation. You do not get a proper bra fitting. They do not touch your body at all. All they do is bring you bras. My girlfriend and I went in last Saturday and were there for about 35 minutes. She didn't find anything she liked. They would not let her leave unless she gave them $55. She refused and that little worm of a guy who manages the store CALLED THE POLICE. We were held hostage there for over an hour. She was in tears. He was horrible to her. There is seriously something wrong with the guy who manages the store. Since we were there a bit longer than 30 minutes he told us that we really owed $110, but he was "doing us a favor", by only charging us $55. I had purchased a $70 bralette (calvin klein) and found the exact same one on Amazon for $30. Everything is marked up 30% more than it should be. Of course, you can't return ANYTHING. In today's age of internet options it is difficult to find your right size without doing a back and forth. It built my confidence that they did not need a tape measure to identify my size and were able to do it just with vision. They were definitely a little overpriced but let's call that a luxury tax that small businesses need to charge to stay in business. I'm glad to support a small business where I can speak with the owner. I would recommend giving them a try but do expect to pay a premium, which is fine! Id give it 3 stars but the guy was a real jerkoff. I bought what i thought were stockings there while in a mad rush to get out the door for a wedding. Im pregnant so I can't really bend down to look at items. I asked the woman who worked their (very nice lady) to help me get a size A pregnancy stocking and that I was in a rush. She picked it out for me, put it in the bag, rang it up and off I went. I get to said wedding and open up the package to a girdle for pregnant women. Immediately walking in the front door of this wearhouse type store, we were stopped by a very unappealing rude woman who asked after tellling her i wanted to find a bra for my daughter-in-law if we were serious about buying a bra because she would have to charge a $45.00 fitting fee whether we bought or not. The next thing we heard from behind a newspaper is this wormy little guys voice telling us he was taken advantage of by an entire bridal party that was fitted and never bought anything. BOOHOO!! He stated the sign was behind the register and if we don't like it we can leave which, is what we did. All of this took of 30 seconds with no chance to tell him what we thought of him or his policy. So I looked around and found the same exact bra at Nordstrom for $68.00. And the best thing is I didn't have to worry about the purchases because they take returns. I have never found their prices to be higher than other stores for the same merchandise, but it they were it is worth it to me to have the benefit of their knowledge and experience. For example: Not long ago I stopped in the lingerie department at Nordstrom. A sales woman did her best to try to help me, with atrocious results. She did not listen to what I told her, including size, style and materials I wanted. Over the course of an hour she brought me no fewer than 25 bras to try on - most of which were way too small, not the style I sought and not the material I preferred. No matter how many times I reiterated what I was shopping for, she returned with something different. To her credit, when she had exhausted their inventory with zero success she actually thanked me for my patience with her. She tried very hard, but she knew neither her stock nor how to properly fit a bra. This would never happen at WOB. I will continue to shop there for all my lingerie needs. They're great! read more

MY MISTAKE hopefully not yours!! I am new to the area and was referred to this place for good fitting bras. At $85.00 each, I have been happy with my purchase. Until now that is. My daughter is getting married and my seamstress recommended a strapless type of bra with some tummy support. I went back and was fit with a very tight and expensive bustier for $139.00. I couldn't believe the price but all in the name of looking good in my mother of the bride dress. I was told final sale and figured there would be no issue. WRONG!!!!!! The dress looked horrible with this bustier and no matter what the seamstress did, she could'nt make it work. I thought, wow, that's a lot of money thrown down the toilet! Maybe, I can go back and tell them my story and at least get store credit...I wore it for less than 15 minutes . WRONG!!! They wouldn't budge. Kept blaming my seamstress. Kept telling me a good one could actually sew it into the dress...I must have picked a bad one, as mine could not do this. I knew it was final sale so it IS all on me and I have thrown away $139.00, but I guess I was hoping to get some compassion or some type of credit to buy other stuff in the future...NOPE...NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!! I will NEVER shop there again, and I will go out of my way not to recommend the place. I get it, I knew there was no return, but I had hoped for them to be a little sympathetic. I wouldn't recommend going here if you genuinely need someone's help finding a good bra. I needed a plain nude bra to go under a dress. I explained to the saleswoman about 10 times that it couldn't have lace on it because it would show through the dress. Every bra I was given had some sort of lace on it. Every time I reminded her I was given attitude. I don't know how many times I have to explain what I'm looking for... I was finally given a plain nude bra and it was way too big. The saleswoman literally fought with me saying it was fine. I'm sorry, was she the customer or me? The real kicker is that you're charged $45 dollars for a half an hour of trying on bras if you don't make a purchase. I've never heard of such a ridiculous thing in my life. Long story short I ended up buying a bra that wouldn't even work with the dress because it had lace on it and I didn't want to pay $45 dollars for trying on dresses. Also, they have a zero return or exchange policy so keep that in mind! read more

I accompanied my wife to WOB yesterday. She has complained about the lack of service, knowledge and expertise that exists in the higher end department stores with regard to ladies' lingerie and bras. We were both extremely and happily surprised to meet with the owner and salesperson at WOB, both of whom are pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. Cannot understand from what planet other reviewers are coming. This business has been in existence for over 30 years; a retailer cannot stay in business that long these days, unless he/she has built a reputation for quality, service and a pleasant shopping atmosphere. My wife is extremely pleased with her purchase and will return to WOB for future neeed. read more

I went to WOB today to buy a strapless one piece undergarment. The two women who helped me were nice, they asked what size I was but did not offer to measure me. I tried on one, didn't fit well. They offered me a strapless bra. Nice but side straps a little too narrow and priced at $96!!! For a regular bra!! So...I opted to wait and see if my spanx at home would work with this bra. I asked them to hold the bra for me but they said no. So I asked for the brand name so I could find the bra if I came back. Well that's when the "guy" literally jumped on that bra, ripped it out of my hand and accused me of using his store and workers so I could order it online for less $. The thought didn't even cross my mind! I was willing to pay (not $96 for a regular bra) but he was bullying me!! He tried to charge me the $48 fitting fee even though no one measured me...REALLY!! This guy was beyond insulting. I'm sure there ARE people who do this, try on then order online but that was not my intent and how dare he accuse me of such. I will NEVER shop here again and I discussed this at a Wyckoff party tonight..Others have had bad experience there too... read more
