I called to ask a very simple question "do you have msg in your food, if so, can I request no msg" She responds with "I don't think you need Chinese food today" and hung up. Amazing! This place is my new go-to when I'm craving Chinese. I used to come here all the time when I was younger, but Chinese food isn't really something I crave so I forgot about it. Since moving into their new building (it's literally just down the street from the old location) I've heard so many good things about it so I thought I'd give it a try. The new location is so clean, and the service has been excellent. I highly recommend trying the pon pon chicken, its delicious. The place looks new and clean. The owner helped me find the things I was looking for in the menu. I ordered two lunch special, the orange chicken and Satak Beef with Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both came with Egg Drop Soup and a Egg Roll. The portions were huge. The orange chicken and the Sweet and Sour Chicken were ok. The Satak Beef was salty and full of zucchini squash, my least favorite. The fried rice was bland, with very tittle ham or veggies. The Egg Drop Soup was really good, full of veggies. The egg rolls were not my favorite. While I was waiting for my food a female customer walked in. She seems to be a frequent customer since the conversation with the waitress was very personalized. The waitress seated her on the table next to me, and she immediately asked to be moved to the other side of the restaurant. A few minutes later, when the waitress went to the kitchen, this customer approached me and yelled at me because I was speaking Spanish on the phone. Apparently she was not to happy that I was speaking Spanish on the phone while she was trying to enjoy her food. Not my first time dealing with this kind of people or situation. Some people need to learn how to respect others, specially when I'm a paying customer as well. The portions are great, but the food is pretty flavorless. All chicken dishes are basically like chicken corn dogs, with sauce. There is equal amounts batter/dough to the chicken inside. The sauces are tasty, but the hot and sour soup was served cold and had zero flavor to it. It tasted like a bland broth with some chili flakes and sweet and sour sauce mixed in. Growing up in the area, this was our family GO TO for Chinese. They've moved to a new location which feels a lot more takeout, less sit down. But the food is still fantastic. I went on a weeknight to fulfill a pregnancy craving and was super pleased with the quick service and huge portions of classic Americanized Chinese food. My favorite thing here is the egg foo yong, so I ordered a side portion to go with my combo meal. I love pretty much everything I've tried on the menu and just look forward to my next trip. This was one of the worst Chinese food experiences we have ever had. Took home $50 worth of food and could not eat any of it. The sweet and sour chicken was breaded with some grey gooey I don't know what and so thick you could barely see any chicken inside. And the taste was awful. It was so thick it was not cooked thru. We had the bo bo platter and that was just as bad. The shrimp had the same horrible batter. Had cashew chicken that had no flavor at all. So disappointed. The reason why I want lime it is because the lime makes the favor of the broth better. If you prefer lemon, then don't take my word for it. Wong-King Fried Rice-Where's the favor to this? This fried rice is the most tasteless fried rice I have ever eating. Special Pan Fried Noodle-Lots of noodle, but not enough veggie or meat. Tonight I was craving some taco bell on my way home from work and my husband is currently obsessed with hot and sour soup, so I looked across the street, saw Wok King Cafe, and decided to get him some. I called in 20 minutes before closing and ordered two orders of hot and sour soup. When I got to the restaurant to pick it up, I payed $10 for the soups, and waited. As I was waiting the women at the front apologized that it was taking a little longer than normal because they didn't have any left and had to make a batch. This place has some of the best Won ton soup I have ever Had. I have never had a bad meal there. It's a true mom and pop ran restaurant. It's too bad it's in a bad location. The restaurant has a fast food feel but the food would likely stand up against any local Chinese restaurant. With so many choices for dining out it must be a struggle to make a living owning a restaurant. I'm guessing that's likely here. Bottom line is this place is worth your time and money.
