GREAT food, friendly staff, and community minded--all very much appreciated these days. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had!

This was the only one in town so we came in around 7:30pm as they close at 9:30pm which would allow us 2 hours if we needed it. As soon as we walked in one of the employee's asked for the size of our party and seated us promptly along with what we would like for drinks. A variety of soda to pick from but we stuck with water. From there we made our way to the corner which is where they had all their items. In the center is their chinese food where you can find fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken etc. etc. There were a couple dishes which I haven't heard of before so it was only natural to try it out. A coconut chicken is what I picked up and it just wasn't my thing so that was on the plate when I left to get a new plate. The fried rice was probably my favorite (bias because I really wanted rice) Along with the Orange Chicken. Other than that everything else was what you would expect. On the wall side there was actually some american food such as Ribs and Fried Chicken. To the very corner there was also a small assortment of desserts like cake along with ice cream adjacent to it. Food wise would be a 3 but giving the extra 4th for the quick service and kind hospitality. It was very cute around 8:30pm they take over a long table and the cooks bring out specific containers freshly made so that the staff can all eat dinner together and or when they could. They left our bill at the table and just waited for them to finish up so they weren't rushed.

I think that it just might be the best Chinese restaurant in Alpena.

Fantastic combo of Chinese/Thai ambiance…read more I ordered the Pad Ped Curry with Beef (spicy) and loved it! Truly delicious. It came with a cup of their egg drop soup. While the soup was not the traditional Chinese version that resembles scrambled eggs in broth, this clear broth version was surprisingly delicious. We both quickly found the bottom of our bowls. Nice, friendly service.

As a Thai chef, perhaps it is unfair that I review Asian restaurants. However, as a Yelp Elite,…read moreit's my credibility that permits an honest review based upon my experience. I feel the food is not next level or memorable. The spices are bland and watered down. We used to frequent for the buffet and although I had few complaints, the cost was far less than I paid for 2 entrees. I found the service not exceptional but after I started a conversation when the server was not busy, he lightened and we conversed about Thai/asian cuisine and where to shop for supplies. My sister eats just about anything with great joy so I also gauge her immense appetite and diversified acceptance when I review. I am sorry to say that neither of us could eat much. The rice was undercooked and the eggplant was as well. The soups lack the robust flavor the chef used to deliver. I like the ambiance and decor but I felt that if the food was better prepared, I would hear it and see the pleasure on guests faces. Please improve because I noted nothing that stands out and to me it was less enjoyable than a cheap Asian buffet. At least with that you know what you're getting but with a nice restaurant like this, I expect more. I used to come in all the time and everyone I know has changed their mind. I know you can do better.. even the 3 was hard to give. I am sorry.
