Update: We played at Wolf Creek Golf Club yesterday, Saturday, March 28, 2026. We each paid $75.42 after tax for our noon tee time. This course remains at three stars for me, mainly because of conditioning (average) and layout. The layout remains challenging, but not the most interesting. The TifEagle Bermuda grass greens were in good shape, for the most part, and I like how they striped their fairways - a nice touch. We played from the blue tees. From the blue tees, scorecard says 6,189 yards with 69.0/130 slope/rating. I almost drove the green on the 345-yard, par-4 13th hole (the one that goes uphill then downhill and doglegs left). My ball ended up past the cart signs and was able to Texas-wedge my second shot onto the green. Still managed to bogey. Before yesterday, I last played at this course on February 6, 2021; a little over five years ago. I noticed a few improvements: 1. Website and marketing, including course flyover. 2. New logo, flags, and tee markers. 3. Inside of clubhouse is slightly different. 4. Golf carts have GPS. Carts also have nice pickup and speed. 5. Some of the cart paths have been repaved or are in the process of being repaved. One of my golf buddies noticed a lot of trees have been cut down, especially around holes 9 and 18, which are currently under renovation. There was a drawing in the clubhouse with what the redesigned holes will look like. In the meantime, both 9 and 18 are par-3s instead of pars 4 and 5, respectively, with temporary greens. It's funny to me that they can spend so much money on renovating two holes, but several of the tee boxes are devoid of grass. What up with that? I was able to book our foursome's tee time on Wolf Creek's website without having to make any payment up front. That's always nice. I booked this past Wednesday, only three days out. Expectedly, a lot of other public courses in metro Atlanta were full well into the late afternoon. They included: Ashton Hills, Cobblestone, Cherokee Run, Towne Lake, and Woodmont. We were originally going to play Heritage, but they just aerated on Wednesday. An employee who answered the phone at Wolf Creek told me that they plan to aerate after the Masters (April 9-12, 2026). This was only my second time golfing at Wolf Creek but I likely won't be coming back. Rumor was they were under new management but it was not a good experience. - prices have gone up, $81.89 without range balls or any other additions - a cop was outside when we arrived because a truck had been broken into in the parking lot - there were no range balls in the clubhouse - I used some spare balls at the range but the range was in poor condition, like a sand trap - the cart didn't have a pencil to keep score (I use an app anyway) - there's very limited food and beverage options - we played our round in 3hr 50min but the group of 5 behind us called the ranger on us 3 times for pace of despite several groups in front of us and clearly we weren't slowing them down. - the course was in average condition for a public course read more

NEVER GOING BACK THERE, Had my worse golfing experience every at this place, paid full price on a weekday for 18 holes at 4:00, sunset at this time was slightly after 8:00, only to be ran off the course at 6:30 after number 13, so I come back to the course the next day to speak with the manager and he made the situation even worst by telling me they are semiprivate and allowing us to pay FULL PRICE to play until 6:30, I've been living over here for 15 years, the course is 5 miles from my home, this course has never been private, and I am never coming back as long as SHABAZZ has anything to do with this place read more

Traveled to Atlanta for business and decided to get a round in. Previous 3 days had rained heavily, so I knew the course would be soggy and likely cart path only. Paid just over $40 for 18, a cart, and a small bucket. Unfortunately, the starter informed me thay the range was closed, which is to be expected after all that rain, and went out of his way to make sure I got a refund. I was paired with 2 students from Georgia Tech and we got along well. Nice big putting green to practice on, and due to all the rain, it hadn't been mown in a while, so I knew all the greens would be super slow. Course itself is outstanding for a muni. Challenging without being overly unfair, you start with 5-3-5-3 for the first 4 holes which is a fun change from all the courses thay start with par 4s. 7000 from the tips became more like 7800 with not roll out due to the wet ground. Lots of tight tee shots than make hitting driver risky, so I hit a lot of long irons and hybrids off the tee. Plenty of elevation changes, with multiple blind uphill tee shots on par 5s and multiple downhill tee shots on par 3s, so if you can find someone to play with who knows the course, it'll save you some lost balls like I had from hitting to spots I thought were safe but weren't. But the view from many of the tee boxes was amazing, especially as the sun came out. As expected, greens were super shaggy and slow, which is understandable. The bunkers were obviously packed from the rain, but the 2 shots I hit out of them came out a lot like regular splash shots, which attest to the quality of the sand in the traps itself. If I had one complaint, it's one I seem to have with a lot of munis, which is the tee boxes. Some were almost all sand, and wet sand isn't ideal to hit irons on. Aside from that, the only other negative (for me) is that it isn't a very walking friendly course. I always ride a course I've never played before so I can determine if next time I can carry my bag (what I prefer), and this one does not qualify as one I'd want to walk. Lots of hills and multiple long walks from the last green to the next tee, including 9 to 10. There is no "turn", but you can go to the clubhouse from 9, but it requires a length ride to get there. Aside from those few "negatives" and the conditions due to the weather, I'd say this is one of the nicest munis I've ever played. I'd love to come back some day and play again in better conditions to give a truer assessment. We'll worth the money and time to experience, highly recommend. read more

For starters you can't take your golf cart to your car in the lot and the driving range,absolutely ridiculous.The course is under remodeling on about 5-6 tee boxes and 1-2 fairways so the fee should reflect that.$60 bucks during the week should be more like $35 dollars.I was pleased with the fairways and 85 % of the greens.New management needs to do better! read more

Had a 12:27 Tee Time. Arrived at 11:30 and was told no golf carts allowed in parking lot. Overfilled parking lot required lugging clubs to range. No golf carts available delayed tee time. @12:40 with 12:18 group not having received their carts, decided to pack it in and leave. Staff gave refund without issue. Love this course but planning and organization needs to get sorted. Scratch this once beautiful course off our rotation. read more

First time playing this course in about 10 years. It was not as nice as I remembered. Not terrible, but definitely a disappointment for the fees. The group(s) in front of us, a twosome and a threesome, joined together and played as a fivesome. Our group was a twosome, and we waited on them the entire round. They never offered to let us play through, which is poor etiquette on their behalf. But there was no marshal anywhere to be found to move them along. It was frustrating, and extended our round by over 30 minutes. They no longer accept cash payment. I budget my golf expenses and always pay cash for rounds and supplies. Although they are within their rights, I didn't think it was fair to demand credit card payment, as cash is legal tender. I do not plan to return. read more

I just played a round of golf at the much improved Wolf Creek Golf course. The greens are in great condition! I was warmly greeted by Denise and she updated me on the carts and course improvements. I have always enjoyed the customer service from Denise, but the greens had deteriorated and we stayed away from Wolf Creek for months. It was a good golf outing. Buddy and I were in town for the Tour Championship, it was surprising how difficult it was to find a public course nearby. Went with wolf creek based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Clubhouse: Small with few amenities. The person behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming both times I've been here. No complimentary coffee or even water. Mens room is adequate and clean. Range: Website claims a practice bunker and short game (chipping) green but, in fact, they have neither. The range is also smaller than advertised, accommodating maybe 10 golfers, if that (there are only about seven or eight bag stands). The practice putting green, however, is large and well-contoured. You definitely can get practice reading breaks here. Large bucket of balls is only $9 but also seems only about as big as a medium at other ranges. Course: - Lots of slopes and challenges. - Tee boxes are adequate but we hilariously had trouble finding some of them. The white tees on 18, for example, had us driving all over the place looking for them. - Several blind tee shots. - Fairways are in decent shape. I never found a bad lie if I hit it into the fairway. - Greens in decent shape although the club had recently aerated them. We got a discount because of that. Made the surface a bit bumpy. When the greens are smoother, you will find plenty of green-reading and chipping challenges. - Bunkers are probably OK when it hasn't just rained but not so much right after rain. - A couple of holes are really challenging for average golfers. #8 is a par four that plays like a five or six because of the long carry required to get over the weeded area in front of the green. We had to lay up after hitting a decent tee shot because none of us felt comfortable carrying that area and still had long shots into the green. Perhaps the white tees should be further forward. - Very active starter/marshall. We were asked to let a two-some play through twice and saw marshalls on the course a lot. However, the starter allowed a group to tee off ahead of us even though they were really late to the tee while we were ready and on time (they had the tee time ahead of us). That held us up ten or fifteen minutes. The good thing is that the starter jumped in his cart and told that group to hurry up after watching them flail abound the first hole without much sense of urgency. - Carts have GPS showing yardage to green (front, back, center) and sometimes tips for playing the hole (e.g., fairway slopes right, etc.) - Beverage cart showed up three times during our round. All in all, a fine course. A little expensive, especially considering the inadequate practice facilities. A-OK. I rounded down from 3.5 stars because of the promised but non-existent short-game/bunker practice green. read more

This course went downhill a few years back, but it is definitely making its way back to becoming one of the better tracks in Atlanta. I usually play here once a month or so. I typically play early Saturday mornings around 8:00-8:30. The owner is awesome! He is always super friendly and accommodating. The greens are nice, but have been really really soft this year, which causes a ton of divots. Most people repair them, but there is always those few that don't. Even after repairing them though it still prevents the ball from rolling 100% true. The fairways have been in great condition. The rough is thick and will punish you for missing the fairway. This is a tough course if you don't play golf much, but you can score if you are keeping it in the fairway. The only complaint I have is pace of play. The pace of play is atrocious at times. They do have marshals circling the course to try and help, but it doesn't seem to be working. Typically it takes 5-5.5 hours to play on a Saturday. At my home course with them same amount of people out playing, I can finish a round in 4-4.5 hours. All in all it's a good place to play. I recommend checking it out. read more

This course is a public course so keep that in mind. The customer service was prompt and friendly. Ample parking. The course itself has very wide open fairways and large greens, however it was it was dry and did not look kept up. The worse part were the blind spots. On many holes you are hitting not knowing if the group ahead of you were off the greens. Poor designed course. If you hit into the hazard consider your ball gone. Lots of swamp and tall grass. On 4/23/23, Me and my fellow golfer (Mr. Barnes) booked at T Time @ WC around 4:15PM. Mr. Barnes showed up as I was on the range chatting with friends. When I entered the reception area, Mr. Barnes and the customer service rep (Denise) was discussing WC pricing. As Mr. Barnes inquired about pricing, Denise was getting more hostile, and angry. I also asked a question regarding WC pricing because on 4/22/23, we played at WC with a T Time around 4:15PM. I was charged $63.57 which I thought was too much according to the time. According to Denise I was charged correctly. On 4/23/23 around 8:00AM, I called WC to speak to the manager regarding the charge. I spoke to a gentleman @ WC regarding the charge. And he stated he would let the manager know. I left my number and as of today, I still haven't heard from the manager of WC. As she spoke to us, the professionalism was gone. She was the following:: 1. Raising her Voice, shouting 2. Verry aggressive posture 3. Threatening to call the police on us 4. Cursed at us, telling us to get our A-- off the property Need I remind you, this is how you treat customers because we questioned a round of golf??? I never raised my voice at Denise. I believe Mr. Barnes may have raised his voice a little, but that's because she was screaming at him in a condescending manner!! Mr. Barnes booked up a T Time and she said " I don't have to serve you, you can go, GET OUT " On the scale of 1 - 10 regarding professionalism, on 4/23/23, I would say -5. If you can't keep your composure on something that BASIC and SIMPLE, then WC will have problems keeping their customers!!!! Now, lets discuss their new manager (Dionte). Last year Jan 2022, I purchased a range membership @ WC. The course went through renovations sometime around May. I may be off with the month. My point is this, the course was closed for 3 months!!! Meaning, we payed for membership and couldn't use the course!!! I'm still waiting from WC management to explain to all their members about those 3 months we couldn't access the course or the range??? 4/29/23 I (EJ) reserved a tee time to play WC @ 4:15pm est, for two people (EJ, Mr. Barnes). Me and Mr. Barnes arrived there on time to check in. And once again, we experience HORRIBLE customer service from WC customers service rep. Her name is Denise!!! Their was another young lady working with Denise. She was on the phone with a customer. Mr. Barnes and I waited patiently as Denise sat there refusing to assist us while the other rep was on the phone. Another gentleman showed up check in. He was white and Denise IMMEDIATELY asked him "Can I help you sir" Mr. Barnes stated "excuse me, we are here waiting" Denise IMMEDIATELY stated "I'm NOT here to SERVICE you sir" So we waited for the young lady to finish up with the customer she was assisting over the phone and she assisted us with no problem. The BLAME here is WolfCreek Management!!!To have someone like this around treating customers with no respect is HORRIBLE!!! And WC Management is the BLAME!!! As I walk out to grab a cart, the white gentleman stated "What was that about?" He stated, that was " Very Awkward" I smiled at him and said " Yes it was and it's ashame that WC Management encourage their employees to treat customers like this" The same customers that pay their salary!!! It's VERY OBVIOUS that WC Management will hire ANYBODY with NO customer service skills!!!! Mr. Barnes and I have played this course for MANY YEARS and it's ashame that WC Management would allow this to continue to happen 2 weeks in a row!!! And from my understanding, we are not the only customers to face issues with Denise!!!!! 5/5/23 - On Friday morning, I (Mr. Houston) received a call from the General Manager of WolfCreek Golf (Dante). Dante stated that I was no longer welcomed at WolfCreek golf course. According to Dante, his staff felt threatened by me. I ask Dante, did I physically assault a member of his staff. Dante replied back no. I believe this is coming from the altercation from 4/29/23 regarding to one of his staff members who verbally assaulted and threatened us. And all of this started because we had questions regarding the price!!! All of this for a course that's not managed properly!!! The 75% of the greens are in horrible shape and the fairways are just as equally bad. And as customers, we question the price because the course doesn't reflect the price they're charging. So I was banned from the property. And it their right to do so. Instead of sitting down and discussing or de-escalation, Dante chose to ban me. From my understanding of a Manager, de-escalation is a good technique to use with customers. All we did was book a T Time, check in and all HELL broke loose on 4/23. Just finished another round. The course is in excellent condition! The rough, although still penal, is not as high. It is also very consistent. The greens had recently been cut. They were rolling very nicely. Our group had nothing but good things to say. The course had recently been bought by another group. The changes they have already made were definitely noticeable. Played in late November - paid $43 for an afternoon round, including a cart. I was the only player on the course, so got around in 2.5 hours. Very interesting and well-maintained course; the fairways offer width but the rough is thick. Greens in great condition for this time of year. The hardest holes were #8 and #9. If there was a choice of giving them minus negative stars they would get minus 5! On May 19th 2022, I picked up my Chicago boys from the airport and wanted to make sure we got a round in quickly and chose Wolf Creek. After finishing our round we headed up to drop off the clubs in our truck and noticed 6-8 people around our vehicle. When we got closer we noticed window glass around the driver side window. Again, I picked up my boys from the airport and we had their backpacks and luggage inside the truck. Well it was stolen and no doubt an inside job - funny the cameras weren't working that day! The 3 bags and 4 backpacks had a value in excess of $8,000. There was also another car next to mine which also was broken into and their laptops were stolen. The GM Dante was worthless claiming they didn't have insurance to cover our loss and evidently this is not the first time something like this has happened based on what Dante told me. So do yourself a favor an choose a different course. read more

Wolf Creek is a hidden gem of a golf course located maybe 20 minutes from downtown. Now I don't know why I hadn't played here before but I will definitely be playing here again. One of things I really liked about Wolf Creek is every hole is different. Some are long, some shorter, some are very narrow while others give you plenty of room. There are some drastic elevation changes and three holes (#12, 13, & 15) have blind tee shots. There are many opportunities to get yourself in trouble with water, wetlands,and lots of trees lining many of the fairways. This is not an easy course as evidenced by the slope of ratings. Another thing I really liked was the par 3 holes. Many newer course are making par 3's ridiculously long (over 200 yards) but not Wolf Creek. Instead they are challenging in different ways. Two of them are steep downhill with very little room if you miss the green. The course is in very good condition and the greens are in really nice shape. The only thing currently lacking is any real amenities. The pro shop is basically a double wide trailer. read more

Wolf Creek was the last stop of a guy's weekend (72 holes in 3 days) with brother in law down from Chicago - Here's the Breakdown: Location: 5 stars - perfect last stop before airport drop off for out of towners. Clubhouse: 2 Stars - Not much to it - nothing fancy - remodel is needed - a couple showers, a light menu, and a modernization (Woodsy 70's feel) would really help it's appeal to out of towners. Staff: 5 Stars - guy at counter super friendly, offered me a drink and a yardage book for the mild inconvenience of a putzy guy in front of me - rangers were out to be seen without being obtrusive, speeding up play (8:15 tee time on a Sunday took less that 4 hours). Course:4.5 Stars - GREAT shape, greens a little slow but consistent, GPS a little old but did the trick - course not marked that well without GPS. TOUGH course, a lot of carries (on the back) rough true rough - tight in spots but nothing unfair. Price: 3.5 Stars - $74 weekend rack rate was the most we paid all weekend, but still a value compared to similar courses in Chicago - The Frog was $15 cheaper and a slightly better experience - but like real estate, you pay for location...... read more

Poor Service, bought my boyfriend and his buddies a round on golfnow. (.com) They played Saturday July 1. The 1st person at the clubhouse said he would honor it no problem, to see him after the round. After they finished a different man was there. Not only would he not honor it, he was very rude. It's a shame those guys used to play there weekly and won't be back. (It's not the 1st time they had rude service there. But it will be the last.) There's too many nice golf clubs in the Atlanta area and in much better and nicer parts of the City / Metro area. Wolfe Creek Golf Course is a solid and very challenging course. It's long and the greens are true. They recently went through a management upgrade and the new manager (Madison) is committed to maintaining a certain standard at the golf course. Course is nice and deserves more than 2 stars but the way this place is run makes it hard to give them that. Snooty and arrogant head pro Ethan wouldn't know customer service if it hit him in the head and it's clear his leadership has trickled down to the rest of the staff. fooooooorrrrre! watch out....this golf course is a hidden treasure on the southwest side. 15-20 minutes from downtown and the airport, this by far is the best public course on this side of town. the course is long (7028 yards) but fair. like all good courses the greens and fairways are well kept and rewards are abundant for keeping the ball in the fairway and near the flag. but watch out for the ruff, it is easy to lose a ball in there or sprain a wrist trying to get it out. my favorite hole on this course is the par 5 3rd. it brings in every element of trouble (ruff, trees, water, out of bounds, sloped green, dogleg, etc), but much like the overall course, rewards you greatly for keeping it in the "short grass." another fav is the par 4 15th. this is a driveable hole for big hitters, but the green side bunker and narrow green make even the shortest approach shot difficult. the only down side to this course is the fact that much of it is in a flood plain (makes it unplayable after moderately heavy rain) and the fact that they do not allow walking. other than that, it is a "can't miss!" read more

I never usually do this. BUT I am an experienced golfer on a trip for golf and NCAA Final four weekend. This course has potential. Good range. Clubhouse. Great layout of a course, but no marshall, no starter. Groups of six going out. Total disaster for running what could be a great golf course and experience. Non golfers of two holding up people. To start, I will never play here again. In golf I understand you cannot play a 6 or 8 some. We came out 6 in total playing a 2v2 best ball scramble back to back tee times of 815 and 825. We have 1 three some ahead playing slow but not enough to bitch. Three holes in golfers approach and say we cannot play six some we need to break up to 4 and 2. We were polite and stated we understand but we're waiting every tee box for group ahead. These gentleman didn't have to wait on us once and made it a point to drive past our hole and tell the other guys to speed up. Obviously playing a best ball were playing quick. Quick being a 2 hour front nine, barely a wait. They called the Marshall who wasn't there on hole one to make us split up. We said we will do what you tell us, but you know that's going to slow the whole round and course up and the guys bitching are gonna wait even longer. Now they're also 45-50 years old and playing the lady's tees while we're playing second from the back. We split off and they drive past our group to the ladies tee to tee off and were like "oh we didn't see you." Where the hell do you think the other two went. Not going to lie we took our time on 18, bc we'll screw that whole course. They had the audacity to yell get off the green on 18 and never had to wait for any six of us all day. Fuck this course and fuck that three some. It was my first time playing the course and will be my last. Typically an $80 round which we got for 59. Great shape, great greens but don't come back. Rules are rules and I get that, but if a six some or hell even a 10 some is playing up to pace or faster then shut up and let other golfers enjoy their day, especially when you tee'd off in our time time that we paid for. Again pace of play is fine. And we politely told these folks, if we hold you up we will break off. The first gentleman said no disrespect. We get it. We're not holding you up, we're not being ignorant jerks, we're here to golf. We don't wanna play a 7 hour round either. Was in Atlanta for three days, played three different courses and Wolf Creek was hands down the best I played. It is a great layout, not much interaction with housing and several "signature holes." Par 5's challenge your distance and shotmaking while the par 3's challenge your short game finesse. If you can par the #8 par 4 you have some serious game. I played on a Monday through golfnow.com, got a good rate and finished 18 holes in 2 hours 40 minutes. It doesn't get much better than that. read more
