We played this course as a golf/birthday trip. We had a group of 12 people, and the staff was amazing as they had our carts set aside for us and also put placards on the front of the carts for our group. They also gave each of us a $15 credit to use in the pro shop, which I thought was awesome. I would agree with the other reviews as it was a very long round, 5+ hours to play this course, but very well worth it for the views and how challenging the course was. It's definitely a bucket list course to play at least once while you're in Mesquite. read more

Good: great course layout and beautiful elevated views! Challenging course that will test your course mgmt skills. Bad: lots of walking up and down on elevated tees. Carts are gas powered and no GPS provided in the cart. so you either use a golf app or buy the yardage book. No rakes in sand bunkers to keep pace of play moving...we were told to just move your ball to a better sand lie..?! Ugly: Long round that will take you 5+ hours (if you're lucky) and on average 6+ hours as there is ALOT of waiting. IMO not worth paying for this course given the not desirable experience overall. Better options out there for golf in mesquite that is just as pretty and spectacular to play in. I would not recommend this course unless you just want a "one and done." read more

This place is beautiful however, the pace of play is as bad as I've ever seen. When management tells you it's a 5 1/2 hour round it is. You wait on every single shot on every single hole. They say there will be a Ranger out to move play along however we saw no Ranger, crawled and barely finished our round from a 2 o'clock tee time to sunset at 7:30. Management needs to improve the pace of play in order for made it come back. read more

Perhaps the worst customer experience I've ever had--so poor we left without playing. Before booking, I called to confirm that left-handed rental clubs were available and was told yes. I also noted in the reservation's "special instructions" that I needed stiff shafts. After driving nearly 90 minutes from Las Vegas, we checked in (a $820 twosome with rentals). The staff at check-in and bag drop both confirmed they'd provide stiff shafts. Yet when the clubs arrived, they were regular flex. Only then were we told there were no stiff-shafted left-handed clubs. The head pro, Matt Wieland, dismissively said "everyone knows" they don't carry them--contradicting his own staff who clearly did not. He said, nobody reads those special instructions on the website. His attitude was condescending and indifferent, suggesting we could simply play elsewhere and get a refund. A competent manager would have apologized and offered to waive the rental fee; we would have stayed and played. Instead, he lost the club over $820 in revenue ($750 if he comped the one set of clubs) and tarnished their reputation. Poor leadership and customer service--unworthy of a facility of this caliber. read more

This was a check it off the list type vibe for me. The course itself has some great views. The holes are very unique. Some breath taking views with a ton of elevation change. The course conditions were phenomenal. That's the only reason this is getting 4 stars. The carts are extremely dated. The warm up area is sub par at best. For a $400 green fee, there's certain things you'd appreciate having and a they don't have a ton there. The food at the restaurant is pretty solid and there aren't many places to eat in mesquite. So when you book your mesquite golf trip, do yourself the favor and eat there after the round. Cheers! read more

When my friend said that we were going to drive 90 minutes out of Las Vegas to play some golf, I was skeptical. However, when arriving at Wolf Creek I can see now how amazing this course looked. The 18 holes were laid out in and around the natural hilly terrain of Mesquite. The course was in great condition and fortunately the greens were not super speedy. By the time I played out the 18th hole I was sure I will come back to play this course next time I am in the area. The staff that ran the course were super nice and helpful. read more

I loved Wolf Creek, just not the crazy heat in July! Don't ask me why we played in the middle of July but we planned a fathers and sons golf trip to St George and fit in Wolf Creek before we got to Utah. Mesquite was definitely hotter than St George. About 1.5 hours from Vegas and about an hour from St George. The service at Wolf was impeccable. The starters were nice, there were marshals all over the course giving out iced cold water and cold towels, also directing traffic. The course itself was okay. A lot of blind shots, a lot of placement drives and tee boxes and elevation change. It was fun though but maybe not in the summer (tee times were definitely cheaper in the summer). The bar server was nice enough to let me grab ice for my insulated water bottle. Cheap driving range (no drivers), nice practice putting greens. A fun time indeed. read more

This place is a MUST MISS. What an awful experience and absolute rip-off. The conditions of everything are terrible. Range, golf carts, club house. Most tee-boxes are sand and should be closed. The greens are massacred beyond repair. Still, they have no problem charging $360 for a round that will take you 6 hours to complete. Most holes had 4 groups on them at once. This is a tough review because there is good and bad about this place. With regard to the scenery, I don't think that many would rival this. It will take your breath away. Wish I could have had my wife ride in a cart and take it in. The Marshalls that help you get situated and are around the course to make sure everyone is moving were super nice. And while the pro shop has every piece of memorabilia you could ever hope for, the guys working in there weren't super nice. The guys we had been paired with had also played the day before and got into an argument over a $15 pro shop credit after spending $1,300 to play those two days. It seemed petty. I was also disappointed with the golf carts. For the $330 per person that I paid for this, I expected nice carts with GPS like at Falcon Ridge, not basic ones. I also didn't think it would make it up the hill a few times and going downhill can get scary. As for the course, it is beautiful, but tough. The greens are frustrating and whoever did the pin placements must not have been having a good day. They were ridiculous. I haven't putted a ball off a green in 5-years and did it 4 times. On the super hard Par 3 3rd, I chipped to 30 feet, had a downhill putt for par. The ball barely made it to the cup then rolled 15 feet by, off the green and 10 feet down the hill. On several other holes my approach shot landed within 5 feet of the cup and rolled 30-40 feet away and/or off the green. Anytime someone was above the hole more than 20 feet away, their balls rolled a minimum of 10 feet by the cup. I have been dreaming of playing this course for years and loved the scenery, BUT I finished the round so frustrated and pissed off that I don't know if I will ever be motivated to pay those kind of green fees to have a miserable round of golf. There are so many other courses around here that cost less and offer more. read more

All the employees are super nice. So this isn't a knock on them at all. You guys are awesome. The course itself is gimmicky. The views are mehhh, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Beautiful views of.... Mesquite condos and HOAs mixed in with some admittedly nice desert backdrop? $175 and the course is pretty beat up, so the price point is off by about $100. Tee boxes looked worse than a muni. Cart paths are steep inclines/declines between holes, round took 5 hrs without waiting on anyone, lots of blind shots, iron only driving range (super lame given price of the course), 1 hr 20 min drive from Vegas, gas carts, and no GPS. My 4some was the absolute best part of the round. Its a fine course if you can get a round less than I'd say $75? Otherwise places like Paiute, Coyote Springs, Sand Hollow etc are far higher quality, far cheaper, and far higher value propositions. I think this is a place you play once to say you did it and then you are probably set. read more

Wolf Creek has a fantastic 18-hole course with a great layout. The grass up against the red rock makes this one of the prettiest courses I've played, and with how many elevated tee boxes there are, you'll have some incredible views. The course itself is challenging, but fair. Lots of desert that can gobble up golf balls, but with the exception of one extremely long par three (#8), I felt that most of the holes were wide enough to give you a little room to miss. The greens rolled really smooth. The course itself is definitely five-star worthy. Three complaints (in order of least to most egregious): 1) The range is irons only--which I can forgive because they only have so much land, and they're making the most of it. 2) The course isn't in great shape, especially for what's known as a Top 100 course in America--perhaps Nevada has water restrictions with the drought its in. 3) Our group had a scary situation where one or two of our players could have been seriously injured using a golf cart through no fault of their own. The staff at the pro shop admitted that there was a safety hazard but showed no concern towards our players' safety and well-being after the incident. It's as though this happens frequently and they don't care to fix it. I'd love to come back, but hope the employees at the pro shop are more welcoming and empathetic in the future. read more

Had a decent round but have a couple suggestions. 1. They need to put GPS on the carts. This course has to many blind shots that make sight lines impossible. 2. Why are there no rakes in the bunkers? 3. They have a practice of tee times playing the back nine until 11:10. This means if you tee off on the front at 9:00 and play the front in two hours you run into traffic at the turn and some very slow play.. ridiculous and just greedy. read more

I have no idea what the appeal is to this place. I was beyond disappointed and frankly mad we made the hour and twenty minute drive from Vegas to play this dirt track. The driving range looked like the one out of Tin Cup, the course conditions reminded me of a muni in early April and there wasn't one ranger on the course to manage pace. The starter even told us it was gonna be a 6 hour round and he was right (we quit after 9 it was so bad). Pro Shop has a lot of nice items but I have no desire to represent or sport anything from that place. Best thing about it, besides leaving, was the bar and restaurant. Maybe we just hit it at a bad time but I cannot in my right mind justify going down there again when there are so many better courses to play in Mesquite and certainly in Vegas. This is not destination golf, it's a tourist trap. read more

I was on the fence about giving a four star instead of a five star. This facility has everything except one thing. A workable driving range. So for any of you who are planning to come here. If you absolutely need to warm up with your woods, and driver. You may need to go somewhere else first to warm up. Wolf Creek only allows irons. Their driving range is backed up against the airport. With that said, and after playing a round I will never forget. Yes, it was pretty easy actually to give this place a five star rating. I've have always hear about this place. I've even watched the PGA play here once on TV. The views were immaculate on TV, and it made you want to come here. Well, I recently had a chance and I had to do it. Drove up from the Phoenix area. Spent two nights in Mesquite. Our first day of golf was at Wolf Creek. We had a frost delay, it actually snowed during the evening and was freezing in the morning. Mother nature had to do her flex, and there was nothing the course could do anything about it. Once the sun came out, and started to warm up. We couldn't have asked for a better day to golf. From the first hole, every time we drove to a new view it was just amazing. We couldn't stop saying wow, and wondered if this was the best course we've ever played? The fairways and greens were soft of course with it being wet. Tee boxes were in decent shape and leveled. To me, that is important to me. Greens, and tee boxes needs to be in great shape, and at Wolf Creek. They were. Now, if you have a hard time getting around. Some of the tee boxes will be hard to get to. The forward tees look like they will work. Overall, it was a great day. A day I will never forget, a course I will try to come back more often. read more

Been playing golf for 50+ years and this is definitely top 10 most beutiful courses I have played. The contract of the valleys with the course is amazing and as you approach sunset/sunrise it is stunnning. Course conditions are fantastic. The course is tough, target golf you have to be on your game. The people are very friendly and the clubhouse is really nice. Overall experience was a 9 out of 10. To get to 10 they have to figure out how to put technology in the carts to that you know exaclty how far the hazards are, aiming points, etc. We had range finders and I have a GPS screen that provides some details but not enough. Cost me probably 5 strokes per round. The second time we played it I dropped 8 strokes. Also they have to differen green breaks front 9 different from back 9. Amazinng course. Also I booked with Matt in their Group Sales department. He was on it! What an amazing time and he was a huge part of that. He helped us with our loding, resturants, golf at other courses not just Wolf Creek. Truly appreciated Matt! read more

Wolf Creek Golf Club is one of my favorite courses. Everything from the well manicured greens to the breathtaking panoramic views. This course opened in 2000 and quickly gained a reputation for being a world class course.The course is fun and the staff has always been helpful. If you're an amateur, like myself. The course will pose a challenge, especially the back nine. Player assistants were on the field making sure the pace of play was moving along, which was appreciated. You should expect 5- 6 hours with the elevated tee boxes and hard to navigate cart paths. I suck, so I was over 6 hours . The bunkers have heavy sand making it difficult to get out. Not what it once was, this course is showing it's age. Wear showing on the tee boxes and greens. Actually, very slow greens. Overall, not really worth the 1 1/2 hour drive up from Vegas. We brought 10 golfers and heard complaints all the way back. Just disappointing from what it was 5 years ago. On top of the bad conditions, we had tee times for 11 players. One person was sick w/ covid and didn't make the trip. We didn't have time to cancel his 'spot' and were charged for the tee time. $175.00 because we had a no-show but were charged 2 days later.The pro, Matt, essentially said too bad, you should have cancelled. I know the rule, many golf courses have the same rule and often say that you are responsible for the tee time. Their reasoning is that they could sell the spot to another golfer. We played 4, 3, 3 on a Monday morning at 10:30 and we didn't see any 'singles' there but that's their policy. For future golfers, check the course conditions before you drive there. And be sure to cancel a player's spot, just in case life gets in the way, ahead of time because the pro will charge you for the spot. We tied to talk w/ him, but he was distant and aloof. We won't go back. We would rather play a course that is not 1 1/2 hours away and the Pro is a little more Forgiving (professional). It's too bad, this used to be a very nice place. read more

I played this course on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 7:40am from the black tees. Based on the seasonality, it was not in ideal condition, a little brown in spots and the greens were hard. The greens fee was $225 and you get a $20 gift card for the pro shop or restaurant. The staff was all friendly, my gripe was the condition of the course for the money. The views were amazing and holes were extremely challenging, bring plenty of balls, I'm a 21 handicap and I lost 6 balls. Another challenge is the wind that can be extreme on the back 9 holes, and to a lesser degree the front 9. My playing partner lost his favorite hat, never to be seen again. Playing here is highlighted by the visual aspects, and the interesting holes which can almost seem a little gimmicky. I can't say that I thoroughly enjoyed my golf experience and THAT the cost was worth it, BUT, I am glad I played here. For me, I'm one and done. read more

This course is tough for higher handicappers like myself. Besides being horrible at golf, this was a great outing for my friends and I. Course is very well maintained. Roughs and sands were being groomed throughout the day. The staff stopped so you can hit your shot.. I know they were laughing. I would, too. No cart girl driving around.. pit stop for drinks and food at same spot on front n back 9. Get a hotdog. Get drinks. Stay hydrated. Water stations with ice cold water available every few holes or so. Pro shop even bumped our tee time as we showed up a little late from vegas. Scenic views from almost every tee box. I will be back. read more

$230 to play a dried up, beat down course. Other courses in mesquite/ St. George are in much better shape right now for half the rate. Tough to swallow the lack of value and the arrogance in the pro shop over-selling the conditions before and after play. I won't be going back anytime soon; plenty of other courses to play. read more

We came up this last weekend to try golf in Mesquite and boy were we not disappointed. It probably helps the time of year we played but the course was immaculate. The carts do not have GPS so if this is your first time going bring a rangefinder and buy a yardage book. We ended up using google maps with the satellite view to see where we could hit to, a yardage book would have been much easier. They did split tee times that started the day we were there, teed off on 10 at 0830. Made for a relatively low pressure round knowing we couldn't go faster than 2:10 on that half. This was by far the best course I've ever played between the challenging holes, amazing views, and difficult greens. I can't recommend it enough. read more

Far drive from the strip. But definitely worth it! Now about the course, this is truly a desert oasis. My bf and I have.played on many desert type.courses and by far this easily could be the.best. If you're going for the challenge, you won't be disappointed at whats to come. If you're going for destination (scenic) then you won't be disappointed with the picturesque property you're standing on. Considering that this is out in the desert its amazing how they keep this place in such amazing conditions. Clubhouse was not that big but hey some of the greatest courses in the world doesn't have the most specatualr of clubhouses. Pace was good. Gave water for the golfcarts.
