My family has used Wolfe Eye Clinic for years and we are always happy with our experiences. They have performed cataract surgery on my parents and me, with awesome results. Currently they are helping my dad with his glaucoma and have been doing an incredible job, helping to save his eyesight. The staff is always professional and friendly. The offices are impeccably clean. I highly recommend!!!

Good eye clinic for kids who need first time check up and routine check ups. Located on 2nd floor of Lakeview Clinic office. Easy to get to. We've seen Dr Olson. Our first time visiting was because of an eye injury when the kid was 2 years old. Dr Olson reassured me that his eye would recover quickly and it did. We've returned to Dr Olson's office after noticing that the kid needed glasses. We've had a couple routine check ups now. The office is memorable for the children with all the toys and how colorful it looks. You can purchase glasses in the office as well. It's a small section inside the clinic. The eye glass clinic has specific hours when they are open. It has never been convenient for us to purchase glasses there. I give 3 stars because of customer service skills for all of the office: front desk, Dr., and Doc's assistant. They are nice ladies but they're not extra personable or anything. They come off as people who are there to just get you in an out. They're not relatable to the children. I'm sure they love children since they are in the business of serving children but they don't make your visit extra fun or anything.

All in all, this was a VERY positive experience, and I'd recommend the Wolfe Clinic without hesitation.

I have seen Dr. Ball for about five years now for my glaucoma. It was a surprise to me when my…read moreoptometrist said my eye pressures were twice normal and I needed to see an eye surgeon ASAP. I read about Dr. Ball online, and from what I can tell, he is known as one of the top glaucoma surgeons and specialists in the country! He has performed three successful laser surgeries on my eyes. I find him to be a serious but very personable doctor who is willing to explain anything to me, and he has a sense of humor. He is busy, but he does what he needs to do and then is off to the next patient. One thing about how they run things at Des Moines Eye Surgeons where is he, (and also I know Wolfe Clinic also), is that you will be shuttled from one waiting room to the next until you actually see the doctor. It is well run, with plenty of nurses and medical assistants, but it can be an hour or an hour and a half before you are out of there. With Covid-19 now, the five or so doctors on staff there alternate days they come in, so the large main and the other waiting rooms are not packed as they are when all the doctors are in. Today, in all the large waiting rooms I was in, there were at most four people - well spread out. My only complaint was that one guy wore his mask under his nose. I just stayed about 20 feet away from him. As for Dr. Ball again, I give him top marks for his abilities, personality and communication skills, compared to many other doctors I have seen over the past 15-20 years especially. All of the staff are very good and friendly, which helps also.

Lasikplus is great if you don't care how you're treated if something goes wrong…read more I could immediately feel something in my eye when I woke up from the post-op nap. They confirmed during the follow up that a strand of "something" fell into my eye during surgery & that the surgeon had re-adhered my cornea back on over it without checking to remove it first & was causing some inflammation. In order to remove it they'd have to reopen my cornea to wipe/flush it out. They told me they could not get me in to get it out for at least 2 weeks post op even though they got me in for surgery (aka to take my money) only 3 days after the initial consult. I called 1 week post op to see if I could get in earlier because I could feel something in my eye every minute of the day on top of a thick red blood stripe on that eye that was not clearing up at all whereas the redness was completely gone from the other eye. Their response: "try refrigerating the eye drops instead." Finally at the post op appt to get it out, the surgeon was unaware I was there to get it removed. They then made me pay for the additional antibiotic eye drops needed when they gave them to me for free the first time. They claimed the red stripe on the eye was not related but coincidentally began to clear up almost immediately. To remediate the situation, they offered me a free T-shirt
