Here are some if the places I tried: Beiler's Bakery - The cookies were made fresh there and I enjoyed a slice of their red velvet cake. By George Pizza, Pasta & Cheesesteaks - Decent cheesesteaks here, but the bread was a little tough for my liking. I probably wouldn't return here as I had better cheesesteaks elsewhere. Famous 4th Street Cookie Company - This was my favorite bakery I tried. The cookies were a good size, tasty, and the service was great! Termini Brothers Bakery - Tried the pig ear as it was described as puffed pastry with cinnamon and sugar. I wouldn't recommend this at all since it was hard and crumbled easily.

Apparently, we needed a sugar rush! And we got a burst of energy, and it was quite delightful to see the energy at Reading terminal market! As soon as we walked in the door, it was pretty exciting because it was a Philly cheesesteak restaurant, and there were crowds waiting to try their food. We walked past that, and passed the Greek market to the baked goods and soda area that also had wonderful Philly T-shirts and stationary. Great service and no lines there!! I look forward to coming again!!

I think I grieved more for Urban Hawker closing than when my dad died…read more Urban Hawker wasn't successful in the way you'd expect any food hall to be successful-- their food wasn't spectacular. I rarely went home invoking a strong enthusiastic response to come back to eat something again. Their strong suite was location, space, and variety. What I loved most--besides having a reliable bathroom in Midtown--was what it became for the people around it. It was a place where office workers could decompress after work, grab a beer with coworkers, or catch up with friends they hadn't seen in a while. There was something refreshing about the atmosphere. People seemed relaxed and unguarded, shedding the polished professional persona they'd worn all day. It felt like watching the city exhale for a little while. And another thing I appreciated was their attempt to represent different nationalities under one roof. The more common items performed the worse and that's probably when you come to a space dedicated to hawker style cuisine, you expect to try some of their more novel stuff like Coffee Pork Fried Rice (from a stall that specialized in fried rice) or Noodles in Bechamel. I also frequently enjoyed their only drinks provider for the best Yuen Yang I've ever had. The method for making them seems theatrical at first but when you've had one that wasn't properly aerated, you truly taste the chalky bitter tannins. It was a good thing there was an experience worker there (possibly the owner). Who you got to make your drink was hit or miss because at varying times, my gf would be lucky enough to run into the one guy who could do it with oatmilk (she's lactose intolerant). It's sad to see this place go and there'll be many times ahead of us where we point out that that's where the Urban Hawker used to be.

I liked peeling the layers (though some didn't peel perfectly). It is mildly sweet and reminds of Filipino Biko - Stingray Fried Rice, (3.75/5): this was my first time having stingray and it's actually sooo tasty. the meat reminds of a sweet crab and flaky fish. though I was a fan of the stingray, the fried rice was just ok. Considering this came from a stall specializing in fried rice I subtracted some points - Ayam Gulai, (4.25/5): I didn't know quite what I was ordering, but I'm so glad I did! This stall makes their own chili sambal and it's sooo shrimpy, punchy and complex. It added a lot to the dish, with the curry chicken + slight hint of coconut flavors and the meaty paste on top of the rice. everything works pretty well together here - just the egg was a bit overcooked and the chicken was also just slight overdone. I would go to this stall again! Nice find- I like it a lot!

Best food court in NYC !!!…read more I have probably ate at 1,000 different stalls inside the New World Mall food court over the years, so let me be its 1,000th review. Seems fitting. Considering I just did another mini food tour with my friends today, this place has been my go to for a quick bite in Flushing since its inception. Not a whole lot of the stalls have lasted over the years, but a handful remain, while the new entrants keeps the food court interesting. Below is the current list of vendors as of May 2025. I also added my favorite item from some of my usual spots. #2 Chongqing Zaier (Yunnan) #3 Ke Lai Qin (Hunan) - chili fish head #4 Joe's Steam Rice Roll (Cantonese) - shrimp roll #5 Tarim Uyghur Cuisine (Uyghur) - lamb skewer #6 A Zhong (Taiwanese) - thread noodle soup #7 Kung Fu Tea (Boba Shop) #8 Grilled Squid (Korean, Chinese) #9 Xiao Luo Luo (Guanxie) #10 Xiang Ba Ye (Hunan) #11 Piaoxiang Yuan (Dongbei) - potato noodles #12 Tiger Sugar (Boba Shop) - black sugar milk tea #13 Gong Cha (Boba Shop) #14 Lanzhou Handmade Noodle (Lanzhou) #16 Laoma Ma La Tang (Szechuan) - mixed dry pot #18 Eight Beautitudes (Korean) #19 Chong Qung Xiao Mian (Szechuan) - spicy noodle #20 Yozi Duck Vermicelli Soup (Shanghai) - duck soup #21 Nai Brother (Szechuan) - sauerkraut fish #22 Mr. Pang (Taiwanese) #23 Ramen & Udon (Japanese) #24 Tian Fu (Szechuan) #25 Chick Rocks (Chicken Shop) #26 Mojoilla Fresh (Taiwan) - egg waffle #27 Royal Queen (Cantonese) - roast meats #28 Xi'an Cuisines (Xian) - lamb burger #29 Liu Liu Sheng Jian (Shanghai) - soup dumplings #30 C/K Dumplings & Noodles (Dongbei) - dumplings #31a O'Sun Teriyaki (Japanese) #31b Wang's Beef Offal House (Cantonese) - beef I do wish this place was cleaner, smells better and have free wifi service. However, I'm here for the great food options and can overlook quite a bit. Therefore, though there are shortcomings, I block it all out and just enjoy what they do offer, which is large variety of delicious cuisines from around China/Asia.

Made my stomach feel not so clean after but it was good! The soup dumplings were okay, I don't think it's the best or worst I've had. The food court has no reception and can get very packed, especially since this place gets talked about a lot. The food court also has cool vending machines with blind boxes that are sometimes hard to find which is nice. If you live here it's pretty convenient place to stop by.

With few establishments open due to COVID, I noticed a few spots inside this food court (including chinese, italian, coffee, and a mediterranean spot). My sight was set on "pita fresh," a spot run by an older gentlemen who clearly works hard to make you happy. Offering to place any toppings onto my salad without incurring an additional charge, he created my salad essentially from scratch - using an unopened bag of lettuce, hand slicing fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and pickles. He placed a good amount of dressing and in the end, my salad felt priceless. Extremely fresh, hearty, and tasty despite feeling like I'm 'in the middle of nowhere' (I'm living in the New York City folks and I deserve to be judged). It's amazing this place does not have more reviews. The place is clean, safe, spacious and well equipped to handle a range of food tastes from Chinese to Italian to mediterranean. On top of all this - their coffee shop (called "Crepe Soleil") offers an abundance of coffee flavors including salted caramel and toasted marshmallow. A+, don't miss this place whether you're in-town for the skiing or shopping.
