We love wonderful house. Worth every penny. Super friendly. Fantastic food. And if you call an order in it's very fast like 20 minutes!

This is a reverse account of the place. We went in and looked atoked at the buffet. It looked good, so we paid. We got to our table with the food and discovered that it was cold. This creats a opportunity for bacteria and sickness . I told the man who was obvioulsly the mgr,/owner. He went over and pointed to steam coming from under the tray and said "See, Warm". Then he disappeared into the back. The people who were sitting next to the buffet overheard the conversation and also told him that the food was cold. Another couple who heard them also agreed. They need to warm up their food, or they will cause someone to get sick. In their defense, the taste was ok for what we ate, but did not finish due to fear of bacterial contamination. They should be reported to the Health Dept. for futher action. read more

This is the best place to stop and eat it's a family owned restaurant with the best customer service ever! They have a lot of choices from food and snack. (Authentic Asian snacks) they have everything from a nice cold drinks to amazing choices of Ramen noodles. If you decided to stop by I do recommend shrimp lo main!!! I placed a to go order on the phone, 15 minutes later I go to pick up the food. I went in and paid for it and when I arrived back to my home I got a phone call saying that I never picked up my order. so obviously there was a mix up no big deal, I go back to figure it out or exchange the order. she had told my boyfriend on the phone that she would refund 30 of the 70 dollars I had paid for the food. when I arrived the lady behind the counter starts screaming at me as soon as I walked into the door. Long story short no refund and I kept the food I had taken when I first picked it up and she told me no refund. Awful customer service over something that could have been dealt with calmly. Food is decent there- but not good enough to deal with that kind of behavior In my opinion. read more

I will start this with the preface that all my life I have loved coming here, but despite that.. the place does have some flaws. I have only ever done the lunch buffet, so I cannot speak to the takeout or the menu items. The buffet is about $8 per person which is an okay value depending on how much you eat. If you come late to in the buffet hours, they might not replenish everything so when that happens $8 feels speedy. The food itself is good, but greasy and nothing special. It is what you can expect from a traditional Americanized Chinese buffet place. I personally never eat the desserts, I do not find them good, but my sister usually fills half her plates with them. The service is always good, though sometimes the English is a bit hard to understand, they are always quite friendly though it sometimes takes a minute or two for anyone to come seat you when you arrive as they do not have a host and someone will come out from kitchen to seat and serve. The interior is strange and dingy. There is large red lanterns and a sort of covered rainbow disco/laser light but the overall light is low and dark. Everything inside is very old and worn. This place IS the best Chinese food in town and it fills a sort of greasy, nostalgic craving, but it isn't a great place to eat. read more

There's nothing fancy about wonderful house, but it's reliable if you are looking for some decent Chinese food in the middle of nowhere. Better than bottom of the barrel drunk Chinese food, it never fails to satisfy my cravings. I recommend the king pao chicken or the lo mein. I haven't tried much else because these are so good. If you are looking for super fresh modern takes on Chinese this is not it. If your looking for classic Chinese takeout, it doesn't get much better. This place is definitely the better option in Pierre for this type of cuisine, no contest! read more

The restaurant has been remodeled and is now bright and airy. I love it. I was in briefly after the remodel for a take out order and was impressed with how nice the place looks now. Food as always is far better then any of the local competitors. I give Wonderful House a 10 out of 10. Owners are very friendly and I'm always happy to see them. read more

Of the two Chinese food places in town, this one has the better flavor. I suggest going during prime hours, however, as they let things run out at odd hours. (Wife and I went around 2 PM.) The location could use a little more light, and the decor is a bit dated, but the good price and quality food are worth checking it out. read more

Horrible customer service each time I've tried to give this place my business. The staff is extremely rude. The food is average at best. (Due to being in a secluded area that really offers no other options in this category). Additionally I was extremely surprised when my carry out order was given away to someone else. The establishment didn't try to deny it. They tried to tell me I was 5 minutes late to pick up my order so they gave it to someone else. If you're looking for good food in this category I would highly suggest traveling outside of Pierre seeing as how there are no better options...I have tried this place 4 times in hopes that I either caught someone on a bad day or that I would run into better staff...It has been the same staff, same food, and same attitude with each of my visits. read more

Probably the better of the Chinese in town, but definitely not the best you will ever get. I was surprised to find the interior so dark and poorly lit. The booths and tables are pretty dated and in need of an update. Staff was friendly and met my needs. Food was average hence the reason for the average score. Will I return, yes. Only because I love Chinese and it is much, much better than what you will get a few blocks away. read more

The lobby sign over the door says "Wonderful House #2." Its good food and they have a buffet during lunch thats small but good.
