My feet--the main reason I came in--were barely touched, and the areas I had specifically mentioned when I signed in did not seem to be addressed. I had been dancing all week and wanted something restorative for sore muscles between classes, but I actually left feeling more sore, with my feet still hurting. I understand that I agreed to the two-hour service, so I take responsibility for the misunderstanding. What really tipped the experience into a negative, though, was afterward. When I went to tip, the therapist argued with me about the amount and repeatedly pressured me to leave more. I had already spent more than I intended on a service that wasn't what I had come in for, and being pressured and negotiated with over the tip afterward made an already disappointing experience extremely uncomfortable. Left with a bad taste and $165 down the drain. I've been to many reflexology and foot massage places and have never had an experience like this. I came in hoping to leave restored and with some relief in my feet, and instead left more sore, still needing foot work, and feeling more stressed and uncomfortable about how the whole interaction was handled. Would've liked to be told they were running 30 minutes late instead. The massage experience: good pressure and technique. But the overall experience was not detail oriented. The pillows/support items were placed lop-sided and I had to adjust them myself every time. It was difficult to breathe through the liner that covered the spot for the head. The amount of massage oil used was stingy - felt like it was creating more resistance than helping with it. The music kept breaking and they left it like that for like 20 minutes before fixing it. It was altogether very distracting. When I went up to pay, they charged me $146, even though they had previously confirmed over both the phone and text that it would cost $140. I was initially going to use a Groupon that cost $143, but they asked me to pay them directly instead because they would charge me less and because it would be better for the business. I was surprised to see the tips to choose from ranged from ~25 to ~35 (don't remember the actual numbers but it was shockingly high). I did not have a great experience altogether but was still planning to tip 18%. When I tried to type it up myself, the front desk lady said I had to tip 20%, she pulled out a calculator and said that would be $30 (which should have been $28 for $140). It was not a suggestion to change what I was typing. She was telling me to do so. I wasn't bothered by the few dollars, but rather the dishonesty and sneakiness behind the business. One or two wrong things can be a mistake. It was our anniversary and we were really excited to try a new spot. But we unfortunately did not enjoy this experience. We will be going back to our regular spot.
