Wonderland is the most helpful and highest quality tea and spice shop in the Northwest Corner. Linda and her daughter are very knowledgeable and always have time to discuss herbal preparations. They do custom blends. Their products are a lot fresher than any grocery store, and because they sell by the ounce a lot less expensive. Great cards and tea sets too. This is a great place to get loose leaf teas! For loose leaf tea, it is cheaper than many of the big places (like the one in Seattle or Leavenworth,) but still has plenty of good options. If you are in the Seattle or Leavenworth area, you are definitely better off going to those, but I would say that this one is the best in the area. read more

Linda and her daughter are amazing! There is a tea for everything! I first met her when my acupuncturist highly encouraged me to stop by to get a digestive aid, a relaxing tea to aid me sleep. Friendly, knowledgeable, local and conversations lead to other great products like ginger candy for morning sickness, local honey for acclimation to the area, etc. If you need herbs, go no where else but to Wonderland Tea and Spices. Oh man do I wish I could be in Bellingham more! I will definitely need to get more tea when I'm here next week! This is a one stop shop for tea and spice lovers alike. Most bulk items are less that $2 per ounce and very fresh. They have a lot of things you wouldn't normally find like salt mixes, vanilla powder, etc. as well as the normal stuff like italian seasoning, etc. but it smells so fresh I had to get some here! I don't know much about all of the misc weird herbs they have and medicinal herbal stuff but I'm loving the standard tea and spices. The cashier is super nice too :) I've been making a lovely iced summer drink with sugar (or sugar substitute), lemon juice, and their blueberry black tea! Also enjoying the Kyoto cherry green tea! Edit: Went back and this time the owner was there (last time her daughter was working). She was SO sweet and helpful. :) I bought a ton more tea and she helped me find a lot of good ones! read more

The store is crammed dirty, dusty with a very rude and unfriendly lady worker! Also don't post hours and not follow them or change your message if you decide to not open! Waited outside and still store never open. But it worked out great cause around the corner on cornwall is living earth which is cleaner, better prices and carries more and higher quality products! I'm so glad I discovered this place a few months ago! Hands down best price in Bellingham for loose bulk tea. An older gal was working there today and was super helpful with suggestions. After choosing about 2 different types of black tea, I took my time meandering around the shop. They have so many unique gizmos and gadgets! I found out today that they also sell bulk cocoa butter as well as beeswax (I make homemade solid-lotion bars)! Saves me a trip over to Otions. I have never actually been inside of this store, as I am not from the area. My friend came back from his WA trip and raved about this little tea shop he found. Once I tasted the Kyoto cherry tea he brought back, I knew I had to get some, too. Luckily, you can place your order by phone. I absolutely love the Peaceful Feeling and Dreamer's teas. Both are very potent and I swear they help me enjoy deeper sleep. I also like the two oolongs I purchased- very mild and brew nicely. The best thing is that the prices are reasonable. Most tea shops in my area are usually over-priced and do not have a selection to my liking. Shipping was very fast and I will definitely re-order. read more

Spice blends mixed in house that are superb and priced extremely well! When you walk in, the smell is just yum and the help is phenomenal. This has been around for forty years and I can see why- a great spot to find tinctures, loose leaf tea, lotions, balms, etc! Dear Wonderland: I sure miss the way you used to be. Once, this was a special place, the kind I sent Bellingham visitors to shop even if they only had a day in town. Often I was pleasantly greeted upon entry and felt welcome while there. Its uniqueness made it a place where annually I would purchase many gifts for friends and relatives. During several years while living out of state, I looked forward to returning and resuming purchasing items there. Not anymore. Since returning, during all three visits I was treated poorly by the person at the counter who was abrupt, unpleasant and who dismissed my questions. Upon reaching the counter, I felt I was an inconvenience to the person; once my money was handed over, it was as if I became invisible. I'm sorry to say that I won't be returning nor will I be recommending anyone visiting there, unless they're looking for an unpleasant experience. read more

We went up to Bellingham and my friend took me up there. I love it! They have wonderful house blends, and everything there is really quite reasonably priced compared to a lot of other places for buying blended/flavored teas. They do keep everything in glass jars, but that just isn't very important to me. I bought Fairy Garden, Lady Londonberry, Vanilla, Earl Grey de la creme, and another black blend, and they have all been SO delicious! And my tea cabinet smells absolutely fantastic from the bags before I was able to transfer the tea to my tins. read more

I wandered in the other day. The boyfriend had surprised me with a tea infuser so we could expand our tea horizons. My first visit was a magical experience. I had a very fun off-kilter conversation with a fellow customer about tea and everything under the sun. He talked me into trying a special house blend that's supposed to give interesting dreams. I love this place! I went to school in Bellingham and found this gem. Now I live far away but whenever I'm in town I stop here because the tea is amazing! Try the pineapple white tea or peach oolong they are two of my favs. The staff there is helpful and nice. They even offer to ship my tea now that I live far away. Best tea in the world!!!! My girlfriend and I drink their tea every night. We like a nice tea to whined down at night and found a great blend called 'dreamers'.
