It's strictly a drive-up place, but I walked up and they kindly served me. They gave me a large iced americano w/a bit of cream for $4.95. I think the menu said 5 shots, which is exactly what I needed. It was delicious: nice and strong and rich. The employees and townsfolk here seem very polite. I heard one of the employees say, "My word!" Lol!

Unfortunately, the visit was extremely disappointing. We spent approximately $40 on baked goods, including what we were told were stroopwafels. The cookies we received had no caramel filling and were extremely stale--so dry, brittle, and unpleasant that we could not eat them. There was also no freshness or expiration date on the package. The other products we purchased were disappointing enough that we ultimately threw everything away. The employee behind the counter was not knowledgeable about the products and could not make us a fresh stroopwafel. We also found very little of the Dutch selection or experience we had made the long drive expecting. I tried calling the bakery for two days, but I could not reach anyone because their telephone was apparently malfunctioning. By the time I finally reached the store, I had already discarded the inedible products. I was then told that they would not provide a refund because they have a strict 24-hour return policy. That policy seems especially unreasonable for stale, undated food--particularly when the store could not be reached by telephone during that period. I was not asking for anything excessive; I simply wanted the bakery to stand behind approximately $40 worth of food that was stale and inedible when it was sold to us. A sincere apology and reasonable effort to resolve the problem would have made a significant difference. Instead, the response felt dismissive and left us regretting both the purchase and the long drive. Based on the poor product quality, lack of freshness dating, limited product knowledge, inability to reach the business, and refusal to offer a reasonable resolution, I cannot recommend the Dutch Bakery in Lynden.

I've walked out the door and thrown a full drink in the trash more times than I can count on two hands. My wife says it's about 50/50 for her. I can also say other than one location at Boulevard Park I can walk in and order instantly at any of the other locations--either never a line or one person finishing up with their order. Not at other brands. Either baristas are not trained well to follow recipes or the recipes are junk. Well, even black coffee tastes bitter. Perhaps it's old. Three different types of drinks at dozens of locations and only 1 or 2 taste drinkable. Done. Not coming back to waste any more money.

Initially excited to pick up my (americano) coffee when my name was called, I instead saw on the counter my coffee in not just one disposable cup, but in 2 cups! The 'label' clearly said 'here'. I felt so duped. Guess I shouldn't have trusted I'd get my order in a real cup since when I looked around, all the other customers sitting there had disposable cups too. WHY? No idea (poor training, poor communication, ran out of ceramic cups, hopefully not "green washing"?!) but I'm so mad about this and sharing in the spirit of hoping that this was just a one-time glitch and others don't experience the same frustration.

Ceramic is clearly an option. Was this just staged? Or can a customer actually choose to not create waste.

So this day I planned ahead. I got there ten minutes before opening which always makes me feel awkward but a line was already formed outside. Once they opened you go in and are greeted with a wide array of pastries and baked goods. I picked quite a few but will say that I'm biased as I went to pastry school and well this was the best croissant I've ever had. It was flaky on the outside and nice and buttery on the inside. You can tell that they worked hard on these and laminated them perfectly. The coffee was good too but the pastries stole the show and I will be back.

Yes, Eclipse Bookstore is exactly where I want to be. We meant to visit Fairhaven because we had heard so much rave for Village Books, but coming to this place first spoiled it. I mean, I hate to say it, but there's something very special about Eclipse Bookstore that a Village Books or any other larger bookstore lacks. I think it's the lone man as the owner, doing everything, from accepting the used books, to pricing, to stacking, to ringing up people, to posting public hearings about land use development in the surrounding area on the bookstore windows, etc. I love it all. Depending on what you're looking for, they may or may not have it. But they have a lot that is completely unexpected yet something you'll desire. The used books are worth going through, and the rare collection was worth a gander with prices that are steeper but when will you ever find a first edition of Jane Austen's book about etiquette? If I lived in the area, I would be a regular. I was told to only buy two books from here, which was a challenge. But challenge accepted! I left home with two books (and another for a gift for my friend). Whenever I'm back in the area, I'll get lost here.

The owner stepped out of the stand on my side, continued talking with the baristas, and still did not acknowledge my presence. For nearly six minutes, not one person--neither the owner nor the multiple baristas inside--said a single word to me or made any attempt to take my order. Instead, they began preparing the order for the car that had arrived after me while I continued to sit there with no service whatsoever. This level of disregard is unacceptable. When a stand is not busy and several employees are present, being ignored entirely--especially while someone who arrived later is served first--is beyond unprofessional. I left extremely disappointed and frustrated, and this experience has seriously made me reconsider returning
