Wow, this place is great! Like many others I got the combo meal cause I couldn't decide which to get and it was perfect. My favorite was the pork adobo with a coconut chicken. The second I normally don't like dark meat nor like Smoky stuff so the coconut chicken kind of put me off, but when I tried it, it was a perfect balance. All the food is perfectly seasoned, too. I normally add hot sauce to my food to give it a bit more flavor, but that wasn't needed here. The one thing to keep in mind is that their online menu isn't as updated as their actual menu. For example, the combo meal wasn't listed online, but they had it on the menu in the restaurant so if you want the full selection, you gotta be in person instead of using their online menu. read more

I'm always trying to eat more Filipino food but it is often hard to find veg friendly versions. I needed something to eat after a camping trip and used Happy Cow to locate something tasty. I was super excited when this came up as I had not previously realized it existed when up in this area. Not sure what was here before, but happy for the addition. Parking is on the street so do be prepared to walk a little. Inside was much larger than I expected, lots of people dining in on a Sunday afternoon. Service was friendly and you can watch food being prepared. It is a little awkward to walk thru the food prep area to go to the bathroom, but I guess that can't be helped. Don't forget to get the code. I was super excited to try the Vegan "beef tip" adobo. I love adobo and this is my first time having a vegan beef version. It was served with lumpia and Brussel sprouts. I found it to be very unique and would get it again on another visit. The Brussel Sprouts were sweeter than I was anticipating. My partner loved his pork belly dish. There were lots of interesting Ube drinks and desserts, but we did not manage to try any this visit, but it does give us a reason to stop by next time. If I was closer I would certainly make it my intention to visit during happy hour. I am also curious about the Butternut Squash Curry which looked appetizing when served to the people next to us. There isn't much Filipino food in Bellingham, so Bry's is really a gem. I was visiting my family to celebrate my bday with them and I decided we have dinner here. We got calamari, lumpia, Laing, lechon kawali, smoked coconut chicken, and the calamansi cheesecake. I was very shocked by the calamari, I have never had calamari that tender before. I do wish the Laing was spicier, but overall it was nice that all the entrees came with rice, pancit and brussels/asparagus. Next time I would definitely see if they have bagoong to have on the side and maybe a Kare kare entre. We did want to have Bicol express but it wasn't on the menu that week. It was cool to see the owner cooking in the kitchen while we were there. We also had a really nice waitress! Bry came over and brought us lumpia on the house and we got the calamansi cheesecake for free because it was my bday dinner. On our way to Vancouver, BC, we stopped in Bellingham for lunch and stumbled across Bry's Filipino Cuisine. Thanks to hubby - this was such a good find! We couldn't decide which appetizer we wanted, so Bry let us know we could order half lechon and half fried chicken curry bites. Love the customer service and the fried chicken curry bites, which is a family recipe and is sooo good and comforting! We also ordered the combo plate with pork adobo, smoked coconut chicken, grilled pork and chicken. Each dish comes with pancit, jasmine rice and lumpia. Bry brought us another bowl of rice, but there was plenty on our plate. The combo plate had good variety, generous portions and the smoked coconut chicken was the standout for us. We arrived around 1:30 pm on a Saturday and the place filled up by the time we left. Bry is super nice and accommodating. We learned a couple of fun details: 1) Bry's wife owns a nearby bakery, so we stopped by It's The Sweet Things afterward and 2) Bry and his wife partner with Village Books in Fairhaven, providing food and baked goods at Next Chapter Cafe on the 2nd floor. 5/5 for friendly service and tasty food! read more

Choosing from the menu was easy. Appetizer: Lumpia (Filipino egg rolls) Sampler Plate. Ours came with a couple pork ones and two kinds of vegetarian rolls. All crunchy and delicious. Dinner: Combo!!! We got to try generous portions (we easily split the bowl) which included (and I might have missed something or have some of this wrong) two more lumpia; pork adobo; delicious Brussels sprouts sautéed in sweet chili sauce (my partner never likes Brussels sprouts and he loved these); Filipino Style Grilled Chicken; and--my personal favorite--Smoked Coconut Chicken. So tender and melt-in-your mouth deliciousness... All served on a bed of lovely flavored rice and delicious pancit (noodles). No room for dessert! Bry made me a lovely lemonade-type cocktail off-menu, (with the juice of some citrus that looks like itty-bitty key limes, he told me). Very pleasant inside, and Bry is a delight to talk to. Is this the best Filipino food I've ever had? I'm going to say yes. After two visits, the coconut chicken is my favorite. The sauce is like velvet, and the chicken is perfectly tender. That said, everything we had was amazing- lumpia, adobo, grilled pork, kalamari. The staff are top notch, and Bry being there cooking, serving, and visiting with guests speaks volumes about his character. Filipino cuisine isn't very vegan-friendly, so when I saw this local Filipino place had some vegan options, I decided to try them out. I phoned in an order of their vegan beef tips adobo, which comes with Brussels sprouts and white rice. The order was ready in 20 mins. Astoundingly, this dish cost $24 plus tax (over $26)! What for? This was a pretty basic dish. The vegan beef were cheap soy protein (I've bought the same stuff in stores -- costs a few bucks for a giant bag of the dried stuff). Seasoning-wise, it was fine, nothing special. The portion was good at least, and the Brussels sprouts were nicely cooked. Decent food, outrageously priced, so I won't be back unless the quality somehow equals the high prices. read more

Full disclosure: I spent a decade eating homemade Filipino food from people that moved here when they were in their 30s. Each region makes dishes a bit different so I'm trying to be objective. I'm excited to see new Asian cuisine here and that there's a lot of love for it. The food is good, portions are large, and the lunches come with a variety of things. I got an order of Shanghai lumpia and the pork adobo, and the ube princesa cocktail. Lumpia is a staple and pretty hard to mess up, and I could have just eaten a few orders and been happy (but broke, $11 for 8 mini egg rolls is a little steep). They just need some jufran to really get the authentic Filipino feel. The pork adobo was just fine. I am used to it being a bit more saucy and spice-ful, usually with a bit more ginger and garlic and some whole peppercorns, and this was a bit oily. I got to taste the smoked coconut chicken which was also fine, but I think I was expecting more layers of flavor and something less reminiscent of a regular American Thai dish. The cocktails were not what I wanted or liked but I think they will appeal to people that like very sweet drinks. Overall, the food was good but kind of bland. I hope they'll change it up in the future and that will make this an easy 4 star place. However....I do need to take away a star for the service. It was SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW and inattentive, with two people at the front of the house just chatting, prioritizing tasks that could have waited when you have people sitting for while with nothing, and having to be asked for everything and then having us wait forever for it. I am all about supporting new and interesting cuisine and promoting more Asian flavors in town so I would go back, but I will just be prepared for meh service and have to add my own pepper to the dishes. read more

The lumpia combination sampler was exceptional with the three sauces, a vinegar sauce, sweet chili sauce and chili oil. A friend had the pork adobo. What great flavor. The service was exceptionally attentive and catered to our baby. This is a very clean establishment where you can watch the chef in the kitchen or go upstairs for meals. They have a fun bar menu. Friendly service, they went out of their way to fry my partner's pork belly separately because he is gluten intolerant. Simple dishes but enough to remind me of home and good times. We each got the lechon kawali meal which is a huge treat for me. I also got lumpia Shanghai. We each got drinks: ube princesses and the calamansi margarita. All good! They did forget to make my partner's Brussels sprouts gluten free so he did have a reaction. I would recommend if you are gluten free to stick to the dedicated gluten free items. We discovered Bry's accidentally on our way to the Saturday Bellingham Farmer's Market. We decided to check it out for lunch. The restaurant was not big but had sufficient seating. We ordered their top 2 items which were Pork Adobe and Smoked Coconut Chicken. Both my daughter and I enjoyed our selections. My chicken came with asparagus, brussels sprouts, lumpia, rice, & Pancit. I often encounter Pancit that were too salty and it wasn't the case here. Portion was generous enough to take home leftover. Our server Toby (also the bartender) was friendly and attentive. When I heard there was a new restaurant in the herald building, as a Bellingham local I knew I had to try it. After walking in on a cold Saturday night, the warm ambiance and inviting smells welcomed us inside. The waitress brought us to our table on the upper mezzanine so we had a great view of the whole restaurant. For drinks my date and I got the Ube Princessa and the Gin Pom. The Ube Princessa was both visually pleasing and very delicious. When we ordered our food I was disappointed that they were out of chicken lumpias so early on a Saturday night, but our hostess made up for it by offering us two pork lumpias to try for free. For dinner we shared an appetizer of Coconut Curry Fried Chicken Bites which were so amazing. The chicken breading was very light and perfectly crispy, but the highlight of the dish is definitely the coconut curry sauce. It was extremely flavorful and went so well with the fried chicken bites. 9/10. For the main course we shared the Combo Plate, which consisted of smoked coconut chicken, pork adobo, Filipino style grilled chicken and grilled pork with a side of rice, pancit noodles, and fried brussle sprouts. The smoked coconut chicken was very juicy and full of flavor. This would definitely be my first choice for next time. The pork adobo was a close second with an equal tenderness and tasty flavor. Both the grilled chicken and pork were very good with a nice level of char from the grill, but these wouldn't be my first choice. The sides were so good and paired well with all the meats. The pancit noodles were very thin and had an amazing texture. Overall the meal was very delicious and I would recommend the Combo plate for any first timer. 8/10 Bry's Filipino Cuisine is a very great spot for anyone who wants to experience an authentic Filipino meal that will leave you satisfied for a fair price.
