Outside of really delicious ice cream, Wondermade makes marshmallow treats. These are not your average joe marshmallows people. They're flavored and even in popsicle form! They also have something called a krispwich which is an ice cream sandwich with rice crispy outer layer My fiancé got a peanut butter and jelly ice cream krispwich and I went with the s'moresicle which is a s'mores and frozen pudding popsicle rolled in graham cracker and then toasted in front of you for a whopping $3. The prices here were so reasonable especially in comparison to a basic chain ice cream parlour like cold stone etc. If you're in Sanford do yourself a favor and stop in! read more

I like the interesting variety of ice creams they have here. My kids tried the nutella ice cream and loved it. I had the maple bacon last time I was there... it was yummy, but it was a bit much for a large serving... fatties like me can't say no to a large ice cream, especially if bacon is involved. They have lavender, Margarita, gin, lemonade, s'mores, salted caramel, cookies and creme and more! The only downside is honestly the price. $7.50 for a box of gourmet marshmallows seems a bit steep to me. Also one white-chocolate dipped birthday cake marshmallow was $1, not bad I guess but it was tiny and hardly tasted like birthday cake. They have ice cream including vegan options to enjoy as well. Bathrooms are nice and the place is huge! Maybe it's the nostalgia that drives up the price or that's it's in the heart of Downtown Sanford. Seriously, even if you're not a "dessert person" or even if you're thinking "but I'm only around for lunch, I couldn't possibly get ice cream"--just try to open your mind a little. This place is worth it. Wondermade is primarily a homemade marshmallow shop, and they make a mean marshmallow. They have a few fun options--you can get a typical marshmallow pack, try out a few different kinds, or even have one of their inventive s'mores, which allows for different "cracker" options and which they torch on the spot so it's nice and warm and gooey right when you order it. BUT what makes this shop So. Dang. Good. is the ice cream. Yes, really. Their ice cream is IMO the best ice cream in FL. Maybe the best I've ever had. You see, they make it with the marshmallow base, so it's got this depth and sweetness that's unparalleled. I've had a bunch of different flavors, and they're all fantastic. Last time I was in, my top FOUR flavors were out (they're very in demand), so I chose an option that normally would be in fifth place...and it was still better than any other ice cream out there. Wondermade offers date night on certain Friday's. They give a tour of their kitchen and explain the history of the shop. I thought we were going to learn how to make marshmallows, but they already had a bunch pre-made for the event. We got to cut shapes and decorate the marshmallows and take them home. A friend and I decided to stop here after dinner last night in downtown Sanford. It was our first time. First off, the dude who was working, Brandon, was AWESOME. This guy was super nice, personable, helpful, and friendly. He was like that with everyone while we were there. He let us try a marshmallow and ice cream before we purchased. We ordered the smores and birthday cake ice cream and a box of the Bourbon marshmallows. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. The marshmallows were a complete hit at work today. I love going to Wondermade for client gifts. It's so nice to give something that's locally made. The $10 marshmallow gift boxes are the perfect little local gift. All the ladies and gents who work there are friendly and helpful. They let you taste the unique ice cream flavors before you make your selection. Their ice cream is SO creamy and full of flavor. In addition, I got a cup of hot chocolate. Pro-tip: get a cup of hot chocolate. They give you the option of either a half scoop of ice cream or a marshmallow in your cup as well. I've always made the trip to Wondermade each time I'm downtown in Sanford. I haven't been out much due to COVID19 but my friend and I just had a great lunch across the street at Willow Tree Cafe so I made him come with me! I was impressed to see napkins were set outside to open the door with, and the employee was wearing his mask properly when we walked in (as opposed to places were the throw them on when they see people walk in) -- it was great! Now they have coffee options to choose from, so we both ordered espresso blended with ice cream drinks and I had a dark chocolate s'more with bourbon marshmallows. Everything was so delicious! Thanks to the staff for working so hard to keep us safe, and making delicious treats! You all deserve all the things! Came to see what the hype was all about and concluded that there really is none. Everything is WAY overpriced. Me and my husband ended up paying $15 for TWO small size "shakes." The "shakes" were just icecream and milk mixed together in a blender, and they were WAY too runny. It felt like I was just drinking flavored milk. I could've done better at home. $7 for a crappy shake is NOT okay. $15 for two crappy shakes is most definitely NOT okay. There was poor wait time because there was only one person at the counter and it took him forever to help out ONE person in front of us. Will not be returning here. I'm not impressed. What a treat to find a storefront for Wondermade in downtown Sanford! For those who didn't know, including myself, Wondermade is a Central FL based business making delectable marshmallows in all sorts of flavors, from bourbon and peppermint, to rose raspberry and s'mores. Some flavors are more seasonal and they cycle through them as the year goes on. The shop is very cute and has a counter where you can order a hot drink or other snack, as well as buy their marshmallows or other local products. I came by in part because I'd heard that they were brewing Lineage coffee (Northern Italian!), and it was a delicious treat. They also had a good amount of products from Rifle Paper Co, and seeing the local emphasis was really lovely. The people working in the shop were very friendly and were happy to talk to us about the products, company, and the process of opening the store. Very cool. They were also quite patient while we decided on which marshmallows to pick for our coffees. I chose the peppermint, and while the marshmallow was delicious, I have finally figured out that I just don't like taking sugar in hot coffee. The bourbon marshmallows were also good and gave the coffee a nice twist. Overall, a nice little spot in downtown Sanford. The marshmallows: as part of the Wondermade tour, I had the opportunity to sample: Lavender--tasted like soap Piña colada--tasted like coconut Peanut butter cup--tasted a slight hint of chocolate, no peanut butter Blackberry--tasted like marshmallow Champagne and mimosa Rice Krispie treats--could not taste any flavoring Honey marshmallow on Nutella and triscuit--the triscuit was not a good pairing, the mallow did not taste like honey. In short, the flavors I was looking forward to didn't really come through in the marshmallows, and the ones I tried because they were free and unusual tasted terrible. The tour: Kitchen: we had the pleasure of having a 16 year old employee stumble his way through poor grammar and uncertain storytelling skills trying to explain the intricate process of this 3 ingredient, 3ish step process. As we were waiting on the other half of the group to finish their decorating, we just stood in the kitchen trying to come up with questions, and noticing how sticky and dirty the floors were... Decorating: we did the kitchen "tour" first, while the other half of the group decorated first. Not only did they run out of toppings for us, it seems that some of the usual toppings they never even purchased in preparation for the event. We expected to be dipping the mallows in chocolate or decorating with something creative. Instead we spent 20 minutes trying to mash chocolate pieces and pretzel crumbs into the rubbery mallows, only to have everything fall off as soon as you picked it up. Other: the event "started" at 7, but really they had us sit around and wait until 7:35 to begin the tour/decorating. The snacks were nice, but I would rather have a shorter event with less waiting around. Also, they offered s'mores as one of the flavors (which was by far most popular since lavender and orangesicle don't even sound appetizing), but then said that only 3/24 people could have it because there wasn't enough. Why offer a flavor that only 13% of people can have? They managed to find more, then ran out of piña colada. Also, the tour takes way less time than the decorating--leaving an awkward filling of time. Also, price wise, I would never pay that much for the mallows. The staff was very friendly, but their "event" needs a lot of work to compete with Farris and Fosters chocolate making or Sugar Divas cake decorating. read more

There is a lot to be said about a local business that happened quite by accident and is run by a husband and wife team. they use only fresh ingredients, and a meticulous attention to detail in the manufacturing process. Who would've thought, that you could be so detailed when it comes to making marshmallows. try one, and I think you'll be hooked. I went here with a Yelp! group, and thoroughly enjoyed the vibe that I felt in the building and coming from the owners and employees. Very very cool, and hip place in Downtown Sanford. So decided to try and give wondermade a try again. Went up to the counter and asked if I could have a chocolate shake; they told me they only have triple chocolate and it would be super chocolatey. I asked if I could have a scoop of the chocolate and a scoop of the vanilla to help balance it out; their response- they don't have plain vanilla, only salted caramel vanilla because they are gourmet. I told them never mind and i'd like a smore. S'more received and it was meh, really just okay. Super small and the marshmallow was super dry and so tiny. I thought it might be bigger. We were warmly greeted by our marshmallow who explained the system. You could purchase a package of marshmallows or buy some of their daily special! If you are ever in this area, you definitely have to try their selection of marshmallows! I picked up a box of strawberry and it was amazing! It was soft and gooey and just sweet enough. I don't think I could look at a store bought bag the same ever again knowing I have tried these. The also offer several vegan ice cream flavors in their line up which I absolutely love.
