Our whole -house renovation included: finishing the basement with two bedrooms, a lounge, a bathroom and new utility room; a complete remodel of the main floor including creating a connection between the new laundry (brought up from the basement) and our dream kitchen. We updated all our mechanicals for the future with a new heat pump, heat-pump water heater, upgraded electrical panel and a car charger, added a radon mitigation system and treated ourselves to a central vacuum system. There were a lot of moving parts on this project and Mosaik's coordination and understanding of remodeling brought the project in on time and without any cost surprises. Mosaik has cultivated strong relationships with all the trades and material suppliers which is why they are able to complete projects on time and with the highest level of craftmanship. All the subcontractors showed up on time and performed their work with the utmost integrity and skill. Having worked in the construction industry for 20 years, I have rarely worked with anyone who matches Mosaik's integrity, communication quality and attention to detail. Scott's communication is top-notched-he built a realistic schedule and kept us apprised at every step of the project. I am a new mom and was thinking having a design/build firm would be perfect since this project would be down to studs. Then I would not have to act as the general contractor. I did some research and seen the Craftsman Design and Renovation van around the neighborhood. I called and the office person was wonderful and she said the owner would call me back to discuss next steps. Well today I talked to the owner and outlined my process so far. I had mentioned I started my search at Home Depot and had an idea of cabinets and countertops. He said he was a design build firm and people come to them to design, this was said in what I felt was a dismissive tone. The conversations started to take a turn. I said "don't customers have an idea of colors?". He then went to tell me that his company does remodels in the ballpark of 50K. He never asked me the size of my home or my budget. I guess my money is not good enough. I can only imagine the communication on a project if this is how the first impression went. UPDATE: the owner of Craftsman Design and Build got wind of this post and called to make this right. He did sincerely apologize. He called because he wanted this post down/revised. I understand that a bad review here can be hurtful to a business. I use reviews here to learn and choose where to spend my $. I am updating my rating a smidge because he did reach out to me. I cannot believe that I have not written a review for this EXCELLENT company…read more I cannot say enough positive things about all of the Ramos team. Kris, Bill, Angel, and Randy helped us with a very, VERY poorly done job by another construction company. In 8 days, this other company had done an immense amount of demo/damage with no actual plan for rebuild. Ramos took on the job despite being busy and having no prior example of what the structure looked like. They have been so great. They contacted the original architect from the 70s to make sure the rebuild was in spec with his work. They worked with the City on what they taken on (no permits, no plans, incorrect work) and how to move forward. They met with us and a third party structural engineer consult when we wanted to see if we could make a claim against the other construction company. They have always been available, friendly, done clean, expert work and respected our small time/picky requests. When we move to our next project, we will absolutely work with Ramos. Our upstairs shower pan failed and started to leak through the floor into our kitchen below. I sent Victor a few pictures and some measurements, and he came back a few days later with a project plan, timeline, and estimate. He knew EXACTLY what the problem was, knew exactly how to address it, and tailored his plan with laser accuracy. During the lead up to the project, during, and afterwards, he stayed in constant communication, and was always available to answer questions. The end result looks amazing and we couldn't be happier with the result. (I won't add a 'before' picture because our old shower was something of a nightmare.) Victor came in on time, on budget, and suffice to say, our new shower is amazing from top to bottom.
