Rudely dismissed by doctor: I was inundated with text…read moremessages from Dental Wise office reminding me of an upcoming cleaning appointment and the need to confirm. I confirmed and showed for my appointment. I was seated by the hygienist, when the doctor stepped into the room and said he wanted to speak with me. .. He asked me "Why are you here?" I politely answered his question. To complete my cleaning, and because your office owes me money. ( This immediately set him off.) He immediately argued the point, about owning me money. The next thing I know he is acting like a 10 year old and making uncalled for comments. I actually had to ask if he had ever looked at my medical history. By the look on his face, I knew he never had. (I.E. medical history and dental history are very closely intertwined) He proceeded to try to argue facts with me re: my account. I let him know he was uninformed of what was going on. ( unbeknownst to him, I had in my hands the insurance paperwork and treatment, and bank statements to review with billing personnel after appointment) He then proceeded to tell me several times that "I wasn't welcome there." Unceremoniously dismissed. LOL. I've been kicked out of better establishments. He was incredibly rude, and unprofessional. As a dentist who is injecting people with medications, it is very important to know your patients medical history and not be throwing juvenile insults them. For a dental provider you certainly are not aware of the impact or importance of the opinion you leave on the community and your patients. Which is really too bad, because as a ROOKIE you should be.

We ultimately switched practices after my daughter had a dental emergency during a week the office was closed for a staff retreat, leaving us scrambling to find another dentist. In hindsight, that ended up being a blessing. One of my biggest concerns was my oldest daughter's underbite. At multiple appointments, I brought it up and was repeatedly told to wait and see. After switching dentists, she was immediately referred to an orthodontist, where we learned she has complex jaw issues that should have been evaluated much sooner. As a parent, it was frustrating to realize that concerns I'd been raising for years weren't taken more seriously. My younger daughter was never told she had any significant dental concerns while at Rockside. At her first visit with our new dentist, several cavities and other dental work were identified. It's certainly possible some of that developed between visits, but given our overall experience, it left me questioning whether things had been missed. I also had a chipped tooth repaired at Rockside in 2023. When the dentist asked if it felt right after the repair, I told him three separate times that it didn't. Each time, I was reassured that it only felt strange because I wasn't used to it. Within a year, the filling came off while I was simply moving my tongue against it. For comparison, I had another chipped tooth repaired nearly 20 years ago that has never given me a single problem. After all of these experiences, we've lost confidence in the care we received and have found a dentist who has been much more thorough and proactive. I wish we had made the switch sooner.

Where do I begin…read more... Everyone HATES the dentist. And if you say you don't, you're lying. Let's start with the front ladies, the head honcho's, Angela and her team. They're the smiles and faces of Dr. Brei's office. The ladies work with your busy schedule, throw you on a cancellation list to get you in sooner, are fashionable, friendly, and funny! The staff- I'm talking assistants, hygienists, technicians, anyone who is in scrubs is the real deal. I could have three people's hands in my mouth (I know, sounds gross) and be thinking, "Why in the world would they want to do this for a living?" yet, they couldn't be happier and will literally talk about how much they love what they do. I can't chime in so I just nod and say, "Good" Dr. Brei makes going to the dentist feel normal. My 2022 goal is to put me first, which means- I have to face the truth ... I've been putting me OFF which definitely includes the dentist. I could dread the dentist but because of Brei and is his team, I feel as good as one can in the dentist chair. 10 out of 10, you need a dentist- I highly recommend. Also, Delta Dental is out of network so co-insurance is higher but guess what... I'd go to Brei and Co. with insurance or not because a good practice is HARD to come by. During the visit we found out that it was part of her crown that was missing. Dr Brimhall provided a fix that would allow my mother to continue her visit and was willing to provide as much information as needed for her dentist at home. My mother had nothing but nice things to say about Dr Brimhall and everyone in the office. They were so friendly and helpful.

Patient, kind, reassuring, and a perfectionist artist in what she does (in a good way!). Wonderful working relationships with orthodontists and oral surgeons gives you total care. The hygienists are 100% snark-free and lecture-free. Office staff are kind and knowledgeable about insurance. This practice has figured out what other dental offices have not: treat people with kindness, quality, and positive encouragement and they'll keep coming back! I had a horrible experience with Dr Bunch, however. Sub-par work, zero chairside manner and made many unprofessional comments about other patients in front of me. Not interested in hearing your commentary on some rando's sinus size, doc. So just make sure you don't end up with her and you'll be good. Dr Storey and her staff are a rare find. If you're nervous because it's been a while since you've been to a dentist, or you don't floss as much as you should, don't be shy. You won't be lectured - you'll be encouraged, and that will help you build a relationship and get you on a path to dental health! But seriously, if you don't floss, it's like taking a poop and only wiping your outer butt cheeks. Go floss.
