To say we are irritated is only part of it. Yesterday we stopped in and talked to a very knowledgeable man about the tile we want for our shower and told him we were coming back tomorrow . OK so we go in today and three workers outside ignored us while we stood there in the hot sun for 15 minutes and the woman at the reception desk didn't have a clue how to help us and we brought our truck and we were ready to purchase 6 foot slabs of tile. So disappointed with the quartz countertops they installed, it's fair to say you get what you pay for. Went to the showroom in Milwaukee and our experience was great up until the actual install. Three men showed up and it was difficult to communicate with them and when I brought up concerns they dismissed them or argued with me. Overall they did a sloppy job. Finished in under 2 hours, rushed through it and made a huge mess. The corners are not cut straight. The undermount sink has an uneven gap, it's tight and flush in the back but has a big gap up front? You can still see the plywood on one of the countertops and it's obvious that they cut the piece uneven and argued with me that was how it was supposed to be. They left mud all over the floors and rugs, sillcone smeared across our appliances, sawdust left in the kitchen and didn't bother to even wipe down the counter. As I was asking about the counter where you can see the plywood, they quickly said "bye we're leaving" and took off. I would not recommend them unless you don't care about how your countertops look. read more

They did a great job from working with us to find the write countertop (we went with one of their quartz material) to the installer they use. We are extremely happy with the countertops in our kitchen. I will add that it does take a lot of effort to communicate all the details since kitchens (and bathrooms) are complicated, even though they seem obvious. With all the details aligned they did a great job installing and at the best price we could find in the area. I will post pictures once our kitchen remodel is complete. read more

I have been a long time customer of Wong's. They have completed 2 bathrooms and now 3 bathroom remodels. Until recently I was happy with their work but they installed quartz in my bathroom last week and did a poor job. I have been trying to call and get someone to look at the quality of work. Most of the time no one ever answers the phone. When they do they don't call me back with any solutions. I spent $1800 on this job and I expect a quality counter for that price. We had an absolutely outstanding experience with Wongs Building Supply. Their showroom is quite large with a huge selection of materials outside too. The showroom is not quite boutique-like but the real test is how well they do in terms of installation and services provided. We went with Wongs for our granite countertop after finding the granite we like at a very reasonable price at Wongs. The installers showed up on time in the morning, made some templates, and told us they would be back the following day, which we were fine with. Now, it's true that we happened to have a reasonably flexible during those couple of days, so we could work with that but I am sure for some homeowners, it would have helped to have known that in advance to manage schedules accordingly, especially if you are taking time off work in order to be home for the installation. Anyway, the installers came back the following day and they were in and out of the house in no time. We had a drywall guy working on other parts of the house at the time and even the drywall guy commented how quick and efficient the Wongs' installers were in getting things done. So, we were very happy with how it all went and it was a bit interesting that we never heard from Wongs after the granite installers left. In fact, I was just waiting for them to call so I could thank them. I would suggest for Wongs to give their customers a follow-up call to make sure everything is good after the installation to officially wrap up the transaction. Of course, in our case, everything went extremely well so it was unnecessary and no biggie not to have received a follow-up courtesy call. Here is something else that Wongs really impressed us even more. We had a previous granite countertop installation at another part of the house. In the process of remodeling our house, we needed the granite to be cut in certain ways. Note that this was an unrelated and really old granite installation that had absolutely nothing to do with Wongs. About a month after Wongs completed their granite work with us, we went to Wongs and asked if they could help us with cutting the granite for us as a favor. We explained this was not Wongs' installation. The people at Wongs happily said they would arrange a time for their installers to come to our house to help us with that too, even though it was not work done by Wongs. All we had to do was paying the installers directly for their work (which was very reasonably priced). To me, it was amazing that even though it had been a month after Wongs had already completed their work for us, they were happy to make arrangements for us so that their installers could come out to help us with our needs for things that had nothing to do with Wongs. It is very clear that the people we met at Wongs try very hard to be helpful beyond just a basic business transaction, and that is hard to come by! Highly recommended! read more

He did an absolutely incredible job of assembling our large bathroom vanity and then doing the fabrication of our granite right outside the house in our driveway! He carried the vanity cabinets upstairs precisely and perfectly assembling them together in the master bathroom, then carried the large fabricated and polished granite countertop up the stairs, completed the installation and sealed the granite. They left a mess in my kitchen/house and damaged my oven after replacing the countertop. Don't expect amazing customer service from them--it's like pulling teeth to get them to do anything for you, they can't even manage to call to tell you when they'll show up. The countertop they installed looks good but they were not willing to cut a shorter backsplash or outlet holes. They limit themselves to very specific/limited jobs. read more

A guy came to our house to give us an estimate on bathroom vanities and new counter tops in the kitchen. It was almost like he didn't want to sell us anything. On the guest bathroom, he said he, "legally could not do the vanity because it would be too close to the toilet "... his English was so bad we couldn't get him to explain what the hell he was talking about. He just kept repeating that it would not be legal. On the master bathroom, he said it would not be possible to replace the vanity. For the kitchen, he said he would have to speak to his manager and email us back at a later date. That was the most confusing 35 minutes and a total waste of time. While their prices are low, and we waned to use them, it just doesn't seem possible. I plan to get an estimate from a different local place and then call Wong's and ask wtf? read more

We recently doing a home remodeling for a new house purchase. My wife and I in search for the best quality, price and style. We look all over portland/Vancouver for over a month in search because we have a budget to work with and we need quality to last. We been to dozen cabinet shops to understand and learn the process. We are very fortunate to stumble upon Wongs from word of mouths. We are just regular everyday people and not a contractor. But you will find a mix of customer base coming here and you know it's a good sign. They are very busy. One of the busiest I been to but not so busy that they do not care or have time to talk to. I been to shops that yells at their customer or their employees and you find my review in other post. We are very fortunately found Ben (rep). Whom were very pleasant to talk to and work with is. He is professional/ responsive to our needs. I warn that this is not a custom cabinet shop they sell mostly pre-frab cabinets with sets of standard dimensions. But while this is true. We were able to order a special pantry size cabinet which will arrive in few weeks. If you need custom size/layout and don't have time to wait for this is not your place. For the best/quality-price this is by far hands down. We had their cabinet people just installed in our house over a week ago with new cabinets and counter tops. The crew worked fast over period of two days for and completed. We were there the whole time to make sure it layout and inspected the cabinet before they install each as we prefer to detect issue/problem before they got them install, so yes we micro manage a bit while this is not a major investment yet it's sizable. The installer were cordial to our question and responses. Since we still waiting for our pantry we will post an update in few weeks and hopefully move in after rest of house remodel is complete and give an update of our use. read more

My friend who recommended and took me to Wong's. I knew I needed a remnant. I went out with one of their people that worried about the rain. It's Portland. I found 2 pieces that I liked but the 2 guys said I would have to come back on a sunny day to get the actual dry look. That's silly. Why not pay extra for coverage to cover the remnants? I'm sure they would sell a lot more as there seemed to be a lot of wet inventory. I've not been back & don't plan on it. They did say I could pay ahead and if I didn't like it (when it's sunny) I could get my money back. Nowadays people... don't do it. read more

We recently remodeled our kitchen. We started with bare walls. Our daughter was having new cabinets put in their house and told us about Wongs. We waited to see how their kitchen turned out. It was really nice and they were pleased so we went to them for an estimate. We worked with Ben who was so helpful. He had a great amount of patience through the whole process with our many visits to the showroom and several changes. It was hard to believe the estimate was so reasonable. When we first went to their showroom it was great, the showroom is nothing special but not bad either. We gave him our drawings with all the measurements listed and told him everything we wanted. The price they quoted us was way lower than we'd seen anywhere else, but the color of the "white" quartz was a bit off of everything we looked at. The price was so good we decided to change all of our other tiling choices to make it work. Come to find out a few weeks later when our contractor went to order that the quote was incorrect and the price would be $2k higher. Fine, whatever, it's still a decent price. Then the following day they say they can't install because their installer is on vacation for 4 weeks. Ok, we decide to have our own installer do the install and still order the product from them which they agree to. Then the day before our installer is supposed to put in the counters our contractor calls us and tells us they won't sell us the product unless we wait until their installer is back from vacation. Now we are really mad, our project is supposed to be done in two weeks and now we either have to find new counters in the next 24 hours or our project will be delayed. We ended up ordering from another place and the price was slightly higher than Wong's, but to miss the headaches I will start there next time. Our contractor warned us that it would be difficult to work with them, but we tried to make it work, but it was a horrible experience. Never again will I use them or recommend them to anyone, not worth the small bit of price savings. read more

Between flip houses and my rentals, Wongs have done 40+ kitchens and at least 80 bathrooms for me over the last 6 years. They have always been totally reliable and taken care of any issues that ever came up, but off hand I can't even recall having any issues... Unlike pretty much every other pre fab cab out there, Wongs cabs are actually wood through and through, no pressboard. If you have ever owned rentals, you know how important this is. When it came time to do my own house a couple years ago I stuck with Wongs, and my kitchen is pretty custom, oversized range, built in refer, etc. Worked out great and did not break the bank (going full custom would have been nice, but not nice enough to make me want to spend 3x the $). read more

I really wanted to give these guys a good review, but unfortunately I cannot. While our initial visits to the showroom and interactions with Anhtuan were great, things went downhill once we had paid for our order. First there was a mix up with the installation date, as they write everything down (or are supposed to) on a paper desk calendar. When I called to confirm our appointment, they did not have it written down, despite Ben confirming it with me when I was in the showroom. On installation day, they didn't have all the correct cabinets and the countertop crew was several hours behind schedule, with no calls. It took several calls over several weeks and three trips for them to get the cabinet and fittings correct, as well as replace doors that had split after installation. The biggest issue has been the drain hole that was drilled for a bathroom sink. Despite requesting that the drain be on site so they could verify the size, they drilled the hole with the only size hole bit they have-2 inches. This was not disclosed at anytime that that is the only size they have, as it is "standard". So now I have hole that is too big for the drain, and the granite was chipped on the underside when they drilled the hole. Because of this, the drain leaks. It has been two weeks and we still do not have resolution, even after multiple phone calls and another trip to the showroom to talk to Ben. They sent a contractor out who reversed and gasket and called it good. I am still waiting for their plumber to call (after three days) to see if they can fix it. Very frustrated at the run around, poor service and brush-offs. Ben promised that they stand behind their work and that they would fix it, but I am not so sure he meant it. I know they do a huge volume of work and deal with a lot of contractors, builders and flippers, so we are small potatoes, but that is no excuse. I am hoping they will honor their word and get my drain issues resolved, but I am not holding my breath at this point. I will update my review if there is actual resolution that does not cost me more of my time or my having to pay a plumber or someone else to fix their mistakes. read more

I can't believe the price I paid for my kitchen's countertop with these guys. I made it a year ago and until now still receiving compliments from everyone seeing it. I literally paid half the price of the least price I found after checking with more the 10 places, and amazingly it was done faster than any other place. They did it with the least possible seems and the cutting was so professional that is barely noticed by anyone seeing it. After one year of doing it and everyday I want to thank those guys who did a perfect job. I was so very pleased with my experience. The customer service in this store is far and above the competitors that I visited. Add that to the great selection and beautiful displays. I had a small order of only one bathroom cabinet. There was a small mix up and my cabinet wasnt ready when I arrived. They actually sent me out the door with an undamaged display so that I would not have to wait.
