Fly in food. Owner did not resolve issue... On Vacation from Charleston, SC. Ordered house fried rice with jumbo shrimp. When arrived at Airbnb, my 6 year old noticed a fly in his food. I spoke with owner who agreed to refund money and cost associated with being transported to and from restaurant. Once at the restaurant, the owner refused to pay for transportation costs. Owner advised to sue and said she had insurance that would take care of it. Instead of resolving issue, owner called law enforcement and became verbally abusive. I would not recommended. Old restaurant. Sanitary issues. Terribly customer service. Owner is a liar and rude. Said fly came from my $600.00 a night Airbnb And not her establishment considering previous reviews where others found roach in food. Wish I saw review before eating at restaurant. read more

Had this restaurant bookmarked for a while, so as I was going to pay my light bill at Walgreens, I stopped here to get some shrimp lo mein. Located on West Hallandale Beach Blvd., Wonton Garden is a small Chinese restaurant with limited parking that offers dine-in, take-out, and delivery. The inside of the restaurant looks a bit plain and isn't adorned with alluring oriental décor, but there are a few wooden table seating for the customers and one flat screen TV on the wall. Wonton Garden offers a variety of dishes all under $20, for the exception of the family pack and party tray meals which ranges from $22.95 and up, such as soups, appetizers, sides, fried rice, lo mein, cow mein or chop suey, sweet & sour, egg foo young, vegetarian, entrees, chef's special, and lunch & dinner combos. As I entered the restaurant, I rapidly looked at their menu on the counter then I gave my order of the shrimp lo mein lunch special to one of the male employees behind the counter. The lunch special included my choice of soup, egg roll, or can soda (I chose an egg roll) and white rice or pork fried rice (I chose pork fried rice). The wait time was between 5-7 minutes and the aroma from the container as the man handed me my food was enticing. As I sat in my vehicle, I quickly ate the egg roll which was hot and crunchy on the outside with tender veggies on the inside, and it was not oily. The pork fried rice and shrimp lo mein was prepared nicely and tasted fresh...meaning the food had no taste of salt in it. It wasn't a problem to me, I just used the packets of soy and duck sauce for added flavor. Though the outside/inside of the restaurant isn't captivating to the eyes, the prices aren't bad for the quantity of food given. If I don't feel like driving far for Chinese food, I'll get my favorite dishes from here. read more

All I can figure is that the people leaving good reviews here have never had good Chinese food. I was sorely disappointed after choosing to order here after reading the reviews. I got spare ribs, egg rolls, wonton soup, and garlic tofu. The only thing worth eating was the ribs and that's not saying much. I ended up throwing away most of the other food because it wasn't worth saving. The eggrolls were pretty typical and the wonton soup was mostly tasteless. The garlic tofu was OK but I had already eaten enough other stuff (which I regret) that I didn't want any and it wasn't good enough to both keeping for another day. I guess Chinese food in SoFla is lacking because I just can't believe people are recommending it here. So... the manager of the restaurant reached out to me after my horrible experience. She explained that the person I dealt with was disciplined for his actions. She also offered me to have a free meal to make up for my experience. I took her up on the offer and called in my order... beef with broccoli with pork fried rice. Also wanted a side of lomein. I said I would come pick it up myself. She told me it'll be ready in 10 minutes. I showed up in a little over 10 minutes and sure enough, my order was ready. Looks-wise, it looked good! It smelled good. I could hardly wait to get home to try it. I really enjoyed my meal and can honestly say IT WAS DELICIOUS. Due to the manager's actions to rectify this mistake... I was running some errands for my parents the other day and we got a hankering for some Chinese food. Not being familiar with the Chinese restaurants in the area I pulled up my trusted Yelp app. Based on the reviews and recent inspection we went for it. We didn't have an issue parking but they only have a few spaces so I can see it being an issue depending on day and time of day. The restaurant decor is old school Chinese decor but clean and well kept. No one was eating there when we arrived or left but plenty of people came in for take out and the delivery guy was busy. Not having ordered from there before I had some questions which were easily answered. The service was friendly and accommodating. We didn't order ahead of time because I wanted to see the place before hand so we waited about 15-20 minutes for our food which is not bad. We ordered spring rolls, veggie fried rice (vegetarian but we added egg to it), beef fried rice (comes with eggs, bean sprouts & onions), special (shrimp, chicken, ham & pork) fried rice (also comes with eggs, bean sprouts & onions) and the honey garlic (white meat) chicken. Although everything was good I wouldn't order the special fried rice again as the shrimp they use are the tiny ones that are not usually properly cleaned and the ham used is like chopped/sliced deli ham. The food was fresh, not greasy and properly packaged. They also provided plenty of sauces. I would definitely order from them again. read more

As a long term resident of the area. Wonton Garden Chinese food is best around. Consistently busy with order prepared as ordered (some meals). Service is very coordinated with ordering to the cook. A side note during Covid Pandemic, the sit down tables to eat, did not stop any customer with ordering by phone, online or in person. The meals continued as pick-up. I only do reviews when I have something to say good or bad. Yesterday I ordered the vegetable lomein, vegetable fried rice & a pint of soup. Both the lo-mein & fried rice were extremely dry & had NO vegetables. The lo-mein had only 1 broccoli forette & a few shreds of cabbage. The rice was even worse. The chef & management should be ashamed of themselves. DON'T BLAME IT ON COVID!!! The food was pathetic & sub par. Never again!!! read more

The food was prepared quickly, and the order was correct. Unfortunately, it just lacked flavor. I was hoping it would be much better based on the good reviews, but it really wasn't very good. The delivery was quick. This was the first time ordering from here. The food was just average, I kinda expected a lil more when it came down to the fried rice and a lil more seasoned chicken wings. I also ordered the lo mein for a guest and they thought that it was just ok. The lo mein was clumped together so for that it wasn't the worst I had but wasn't above average. This restaurant has such great service! I ordered lunch for my coworkers and I working at the mall and the delivered with no problem. They were friendly, patient and there were no issues throughout the entire ordering and delivery process. The driver walked into the mall to deliver the food for us and he even had a mobile credit card machine so I did not have to give the card information over the phone. The best part about it all was that the food was delicious and hot!!! We ordered a jumbo house special fried rice, an order of crab rangoons and the salt and pepper chicken wings which were all delicious! I've passed this place at least 20-30 times and just never stop to have lunch or dinner. I guess I was thrown off by the look of the place, shame on me. Don't be fooled by where it's located and let that deter you from having a good Chinese dish. Walked in and was greeted immediately, looked over the menu, ordered our food and choose where we were going to sit. Our waitress brought out fried noodles with some sweet & sour sauce for dipping as we waited for our meals to come to the table. Before you know it our food was there and it was very delicious, not over powered by salt which some places tend to do. My wings were fried really crispy, which I really enjoyed and the pork fried rice was good as well. My wife ordered the deluxe Chinese vegetables with white rice which didn't stand a chance as she let me try some of the crisp veggies. Overall you can't beat the lunch special for $6.95 that gives you good food for the low. I mean having a real meal Vs the burger chains crap, you can't lose by eating Wonton Garden. I was not impressed. Called in for take out, and ordered the General Tsos Chicken with shrimp fried rice. When I got there, the guy behind the register was nice and friendly. Oddly enough, the place was empty at lunch time but had one other customer picking up takeout. I said ok fine, maybe people just order here and don't dine in as much. Got home, opened up my styrofoam box to find that my General Tsos chicken bites were chicken breasts! They were huge! I had to cut them up to little pieces. These were just really greasy and too big to bite into. That turned me off right there. The only thing I enjoyed was the shrimp fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't eat most of my chicken. I was looking for a good authentic Chinese take out place but have not found it in this establishment. read more

I've literally been going to Wonton Gardens for over 20 years....SERIOUSLY! With abso no questions and no regrets. Everything is genuinely legit made promptly and properly using nothing but the best of fresh oroducts and ingredients which at the end just straight up tastes delicious .
