I have passed by this place so many times and I just knew it would be delicious! And it was! It's so hard to find what I would classify as authentic Chinese food! The flavors definitely stand out and The portions are huge I got the vegetable fried rice and orange chicken it was so delicious I would def recommend it again! Oh and the crab Rangoon's actually had a good portion of crab in them! They need to blow up! It's that good! 10/10 read more

The food is absolutely amazing. They give you these Styrofoam containers and have enough food to feed a small family. It's like 3 pounds of food, sometimes 3 pounds of just meat. The food takes a little bit but that's because they make it themselves and from what I know it's just the guy in the back, but he's amazing. The inside is small, but it's nice. They have many drinks too, it's a nice little small place on Pembroke. One thing I see people have a problem with is the fried rice, but fried rice is supposed to be a day old, not freshly cooked. But all the other reviews that are low are questionable, they're nice and don't yell at me or my family. 10/10 Would go again read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down the most disgusting Chinese food I've ever had in my life. The food arrived looking like it had been sitting out all day, soggy and unappetizing. The fried rice was greasy, bland, and tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. The "chicken" was rubbery and questionable at best--it didn't even taste like actual chicken. The egg rolls were dripping oil and somehow still stale on the inside. Not only was the food inedible, but the smell alone was enough to turn my stomach. I took one bite and immediately regretted ordering. Honestly, I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy. Ordered the lunch special came with two chicken wings for $12 and change. What a freaking rip off! The sign on the window has so many markings on it you have no idea what you're getting so I suggest ask more questions than normal. Many times I've passed this restaurant and today was the day I've decided to try the food for the first time. Sun Yi Café, located on Pembroke Rd. near I-95, is a small restaurant with a small parking lot. It's a good thing the business advertises "take-out" because there isn't much space inside for dining, but there are seats provided for customers to sit and wait while the food's being prepared. I ordered my usual, pork lo mein lunch special. It was served with pork fried rice and also came with one free can soda. After waiting for twelve minutes, my food was ready. When I took a look inside the container, I was surprised at the amount of food I was given. It was enough to feed two people. Usually when I order pork lo mein, it contains small pieces of pork; but this food had big pieces of pork in it, and the vegetables was nice & crunchy. I must say, though it was too much food for me, it was very good and wasn't salty. Guess I'm having leftovers for a day or two. read more

This place is not good. This place is verrry good!!! I am very pleased to find good Chinese food in this neighborhood near my office. I had the General Tao's chicken lunch special for $6.70 which includes a soda. It was delicious. A very generous portion of Big pieces of fresh chicken. Their pork fried rice has generous amounts of pork. This is the fourth time I've eaten here and I am never disappointed. In fact, today's plate weighed 2.5 lbs. This is the worst take out experience I've had in the Hollywood/ Hallandale area. I ordered a shrimp chow mein with steamed white rice but what I got instead is day-old, hard in some places and oddly chewy in others, cold white rice and flavorless celery ( I thought chow mein was steamed vegetables, not just celery) and dehydrated, lackluster shrimp. Utterly revolting. Ordered the pepper steak lunch special with chicken fried rice. The rice was at least edible, though the cuts of chicken were questionable. The beef was disgusting. I'm a lover of Chinese takeout and have been searching for a place in Hollywood that can compare to what I'm used to from NYC. This is not the place. I would say that the huge portion of food was a plus, but 2 lbs of garbage is still garbage, right? As a poor college student, I'm used to low quality food and never throw anything away. Love it... I know it's not pretty, but it's delicious and affordable. Dinner plates are around $10 and more than enough to share, the chicken is crispy and the rice is very very good comparing to most Chinese restaurants. I thought this place was shady at first because it's in a questionable neighborhood, but they are absolutely WONDERFUL. The food is amazing and they give you HUGE portions (literally will feed multiple people with one dish). No stars - well one cause I had to pick at minimum one! Woman/owner is RUDE. Food was disgusting. 85% of the meal was rice (re-refried rice- yuck!) piled onto the container, adding to the weight of the food. Intentionally done to make one associated the heaviness with getting a bang for your buck. The food is made with very old recycled deep-fried oil. The sesame chicken had no sesame seeds. They tried to pass off breaded, deep-fried pieces of fat and questionable chicken covered in large masses of flour as sesame chicken! This was dumped in container and drenched in a heavily sweet sauce. Even the pieces of the chicken in the chicken-fried-rice was dark and suspicious. I associated the taste of the food , particularly the rice, with the stench of the joint. So disgusting. The place was not clean and cardboard separately portion of the ceiling/wall to the kitchen.
