I've been coming here for years! This restaurant is one of my favorite casual Chinese restaurants in Hollywood. It's usually empty and many people order delivery or to go, but I always dine in the restaurant. Today our server was nice and very attentive, but one of the managers/owners was a bit rude. I asked if we could be seated near an outlet as I needed to keep my laptop on, and she said there were none. I found an outlet against a wall that was visible from our table and I went over to charge it. She went over and nearly unplugged it, but after realizing that there was no reason for me not to charge my device she let it go. Our food was made to order so it was delicious and nice and hot. We ordered the cream cheese rangoons to share and each ordered a combination platter which comes with with an egg roll, choice of soup, entree, white or pork fried rice and ice cream. We both opted for Wonton soup and pork fried rice but for the entrees, my friend ordered the chicken and broccoli which she did not enjoy much (we have had it in the past and it was good, but I guess they are inconsistent with their recipe), and I ordered the Szechuan chicken for the first time which I thought was delicious. In the end, we were both too full for ice cream and at first our server said we could switch it for an egg roll, but then after a while 5 minutes she came back and told us that the manager said no substitutions. I think it was because she was annoyed with me for charging my laptop against her wishes.. Overall I would give this visit 2.5 stars, but normally I would rate this place 3.5 or 4 stars because usually the food is great and the staff is nice... Ordered spicy garlic chicken but it was sweet honey and garlic chicken. Still, it was good with sticky rice. The egg drop soup was delicious and filling. I drank hot tea while I enjoyed the meal. Family-owned and operated restaurant. Very friendly service and children are welcome. read more

LAST TIME GOING HERE... We entered and were seated quickly since we were the only table in the entire restaurant during lunch 1115a - 1215p. If I give an extremely rare one star rating it will be for an abundance of valid reasons as follows: #1. An argument erupted at the front counter between a delivery driver and management in reference to a food order. The food driver left without the food which stayed on the counter for fifteen minutes until another delivery driver picked up the initial order which would now be cold for the paying customer. #2. The server was polite and brought out our soup and eggrolls in a timely manner and were ok. #3. Our main food order was brought to our table but was incorrect and was taken back to the kitchen. #4. The Moo Goo Gai Pan finally arrived and seemed fresh and tasty but not overly unique. #5. The bathroom was old, doubled as storage and needed some TLC. #6. The wall ledge next to my table was filthy. #7. A large dead roach and a partial fortune cookie was on the floor next to my table. Extremely frustrating and disappointing when the food is good but the overall experience is ruined by cleanliness. It's hard to enjoy a meal when the environment doesn't feel up to standard. What happened? It's been a while since we ordered from here. It used to be delicious. Not any longer ! Chicken wings were more breading than chicken and burnt . Awful Dumplings falling apart flavor was not pleasant Egg drop soup- children used to love it , they did t even want to have it. Shrimp dishes were so bad we threw it all out. Will not be getting food from here again. Really upset we wasted all that money and food . Impossible to eat and enjoy. read more

I used to love coming to this place, the food was amazing, the prices were great and the service? Great! Something changed, though... the new staff is great, the ambiance isn't bad, but the food is now below average. If you want more breading than chicken in your chicken balls, if you want little meat in your soup, it's the place to go. read more

I have not been there in awhile, so I stopped in today for a late 2PM lunch. It was a very nice overall experience. The waitress was polite and friendly and was at my table as soon as I sat down and I had a nice hot bowl of egg drop soup and a cold drink within a minute. She was also very helpful and attentive as even though I ordered just the usual Chinese fare, I had some questions which she was very helpful in answering. The food was very tasty and was very hot when it arrived. Prices were very reasonable and normal , and the service was great. I have to find a way to get to this end of town and visit there more often. read more

I moved to Hollywood a year ago and I find this place to be very pleasurable. The prices are really low, the service is really good, and they give nice size portions. There's plenty of parking and is right on Hollywood Boulevard really close to 95 so very simple to get to. The inside is large handle parties of six or seven. I would say more at a time unless you put together, but with that you can fit a large group here. Usually local news so if you're coming for lunch on your. It tends to be a little chilly in here so I would recommend bringing a sweater jacket. read more

Wow...another Great Eatery in the Hollywood, Florida community. Coming from Los Angeles where we have really great Chinese & Asian cuisine, I found a little hidden Gem in Hollywood for Lunch. The Food is Great and high Quality, the Prices are Low, and the Ambiance is very Comfortable. When we walked into China Hollywood I immediately noticed that Authentic Aroma of Food cooked with Love. There were plenty of tables for 1-4 people, and also several tables for 4-10 guests. We were greeted with a smile and a "Thank You for Coming" nice... The Lunch menu had about 20 or so items that was $9.99 Oh Yeah. I chose the "Bonless Ribs" and my Mama Bear (91yrs. Young) chose the "Flat Noodles- Chow Fun with Chicken". These two dishes were prepared and served to perfection: Tasty, Hot, and Plentiful. I love this place and highly recommend China Hollywood. Don't think, just go there for Lunch! 9/28/2023 came in before my shift at Joe D. Not many people eating in but constant take out. Food 4/5. I don't like the fact they don't put ham in their special fried rice. It was flavorful but missing the ham. Also if you're like me and like the flat fried noddles with your soup or to dip and you order take out .. make sure you ask for the flat noodles otherwise you get the other type. I ordered a soup to take with me and that is what came with it. I'm glad I asked. Waitress recommended I try the Mongolian beef. It was very good. Egg drop soup was very good. 5/5 service. This lady was awesome. She was smiling and talking with me. It's dangerous that I work so close. Lol I will be back for sure. I ordered a large egg drop soup and fried donuts to go. This place was in a plaza that had a lot of parking. We decided to get Chinese food for our one day stay in the area. There were a few people eating here around 6:15pm on Black Friday. The menu was short and had some good-sounding food. I ordered the Beef with Broccoli Combo Platter ($10.95) which also came with soup (I chose hot and sour soup), an egg roll, rice (I chose steamed rice), and a dessert (I chose vanilla ice cream). It took a few minutes for the soup to come out. The Hot and Sour soup tasted good to me and the egg roll was okay. The Beef with Broccoli was not bad and there was more of that than the cup of steamed rice that was included. I tried my brother's Chow Fun and that was good. My dad's Szechuan Chicken was good but not spicy to me. The Roast Pork Egg Foo Young was okay and I probably never had anything like that before. The ice cream was not bad and a good dessert. Overall, I thought the food here was okay and got the job done especially for the area. read more

Located in the Presidential Plaza on Hollywood Blvd., China Hollywood is a gourmet Chinese Restaurant that offers dine in, take out, and delivery. The restaurant is large with plenty of booth and table seating for the customers and has a serene oriental décor adorned in lovely colors. Upon entering, I was nicely greeted by a female employee who took my order of the orange flavored chicken (you have the option to get it spicy) lunch special, which was served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. While waiting, I overlooked the take out menu. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes all under $20; such as appetizers, soups, chow mein or chop suey, fried rice, lo mein, chef's specialty, steamed delight, beef/chicken/pork/seafood dishes, vegetarian, egg foo young, sides, and lunch and dinner combo platters. In about five minutes, I was handed my food...now that's what I call fast service. The food was steaming hot and placed in a small container which had an adequate amount of food and looked appetizing. As I got in my vehicle, I quickly ate the egg roll which was hot and crunchy on the outside with tender veggies on the inside. The fried rice was cooked nicely with just the right amount of salt. The orange chicken was lightly crispy and tossed in a tangy orange sauce. I used the leftover sauce to complement the fried rice. It's absurd the number of times I've driven along Hollywood Blvd. and passed by this restaurant, but rest assure it won't happen again. I'll be back to try their lo mein. read more

First things first, the service was not the best at all. If you're not white, except to stand for over 8 minutes waiting to be seated while not busy. My mom and I always order food over the phone from this restaurant, and everything tastes great. But this time, we decided to dine in! As soon as we got to the door, we were not greeted by anyone. There were two older couples that were obviously family members to whoever owns the restaurant, they saw us, and neither of them decided to call someone to get us seated or at least ask us if we're picking up an order! Eventually after 8 minutes of standing someone came to seat us. Once we were seated, I realized two white guys came in and within seconds, someone greeted them with smiles, I just find that so ironic how you can get treated differently based off of your race, yet we're all spending money to keep your business going. So ignorant and sad. Furthermore, the waitress came, she was pleasant, she took our order in parts though since she was the only one taking everyone's order, but the food tasted much different in person, versus over the phone. It was barely Luke warm, and our pork fried rice was barley warm, nor did it taste fresh. Yet it took over 30 minutes for everything we ordered to come out. Also, except to pay $15 more in person than over the phone for the same amount of food you normally purchase. I honestly felt uncomfortable to eat anything, and the silverware and plates didn't look washed properly. Overall, I'd give my experience here a 4/10 read more

We ordered 4 combos 2 were shrimp with broccoli, 1- orange chicken, and 1 pepper steak. We also ordered a quart of Lo neon, and crab Rangoon. When our order was delivered, and unpacked, we received 2 chicken with broccoli, instead of the shrimp with broccoli that was originally ordered. When my host called the restaurant, she explained that she got the wrong order. They said we would have to pay the difference. Not thinking it was fair that she should have to pay for their error, they said they would deliver the shrimp and broccoli, no extra charge. 30 minutes later dinner finally arrived. If you've never had Chinese food from a local restaurant in NYC then you totally don't understand what I mean. Lol When I entered China Hollywood I was expecting to see the small order counter and only 1 or 2 dining chairs (this is my NYC state of mind. Don't judge me). Well, to my surprise it's an actual restaurant. Yes! Dining in option and they serve wine and beer! I had all intentions of ordering to go. But I decided to dine there. Given that it was early after the restaurant was very quite. The serves was great! The food isn't something to wow about. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce. I ordered over the phone for Chow Mein. Both of us made it clear that I wasn't the fried noodles , which clearly was the Chow Mein noodles. I told them no mushrooms because I had a allergy. Which my receipt clearly says no mushrooms. I looked at my food. And it was only the steamed vegetables that come mixed in the chow mein. No flavor, nothing. I called to get my refund, especially for it having mushrooms, and of course no fried noodles. They guy on the phone said" that's the way we do it here" NO. That's not chow mein. I seriously need the 1/2 star! (sorry Blue!) Was doing a volunteer event for work at the Leukemia and Lymphoma office. 8 of us decided to go to lunch and this place was recommended by one of the women in our group. 1. Quickly greeted and seated. 2. Noodles and tea came out very quickly along with water for everyone. The noodles were totally awesome! 3. Our server was relatively friendly. She did a little face thing when one in the group forgot she paid with cash 4. The server did not complain that we needed 8 separate checks. A lot of restaurants can take lessons from this place regarding this. Everyone got the correct check and the server didn't give us a hard time. 5. Egg roll was delicious. 6. The people who had soup liked their soup 7. Fried rice was okay. Nothing special 8. I had moo goo gai pan. It was okay. The sauce was a little goopy, but it was tasty. 9. Everyone's food looked good. Very good food and extremely nice staff. The portion sizes were average but they gave us a lot of fried noodles to supplement. It was kind of cool that we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our kids could run around and act silly. The staff loved it and they played along with them. The combination dinners come with soup, an egg roll and dessert. Ordered from this location because my regular spot was closed . Ordered on line and found it odd that they would only take cash so that was my first red flag. Ordered a shrimp dish and once we opened the package a horrible smell overtook my house. Ordered the pu-pu platter with house fried rice. Beef Teriyaki and spare ribs were delicious! Fantail shrimp was average along with egg roll. Chicken wings were okay. Crab rangoon was less desirable and was weak with the filling and awfully smaller than other fast food Chinese. However, this is supposedly not your simple takeout, it is listed as gourmet. Definitely gourmet prices. The house fried rice tasted dull. Interior was average and service was okay. I will only come back for lunch special at 1/2 the cost I spent. Took my Mom for Chinese today for lunch. We ordered off a varied lunch menu which included choice of soup or egg roll, fried/white/brown rice. Mom ordered pepper steak minus onions and I had chicken with vegetables. Both our entrees were tasty and service was quick. All good so far... I already had given my credit card over for payment while Mom packed up remaining pepper steak and rice she found a piece of steel (from a scouring pad). She let our server know who looked at and took it from her, showed another worker and came back and told us, "must be from them cleaning the wok". I don't expect a free meal, but do expect an apology and not a flip, like it's not a big deal and move on your way attitude. Worst part is Mom and I just saw something on the news of a lady who had a piece of steel caught in her throat from a BBQ scouring pad and had to have emergency surgery to remove it as it was effecting her breathing and was bleeding down her throat. Until the latter incident, I would have given it a much higher rating but this in turn has really annoyed me and will probably not return as a result. Gave this place a shot for takeout on Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner an the dude at the register are super nice. The food was really good, which surprised me for some reason. We had general tso chicken, tofu, lo mein, and spring rolls. The chicken was really good quality. Prices are reasonable and the website ordering is a great experience. read more

China Hollywood is a nice surprise. The food is good but best of all I do not have many options where I live and they deliver 5 miles away! They are FAST, affordable, and again the food is good. Decided to try a new local Chinese Delivery. Big mistake. Delivery took one and a half hours. I called twice to find out the status of my delivery and they kept saying that it was on its way. When the food finally arrived it was cold. I had ordered Ma Po Tofu and hot & sour soup. Both are supposed to be hot and spicy. Instead they were watery and bland. This is a standard Cantoese joint. The food is fine and the service is tolerable. I hate the canned coke routine and the cheap sweetner; that's what I'm looking at now is the WHO HAS SPLENDA instead of just Sweet n Low (disgusting stuff) Ten years ago I owned half of a Chinese Restaurant (a loan) Oh God, do you pick up some tips when you are back there with the chef hoping he is spending properly and if you went to a Chinese Wholesaler you would only go to MaiKai for your Canton/Poly fix. But this joint is OK for the simple things I ordered (YELP lost my pix or I'd tell you what I had, but I do recall a not at all bad Won Ton Soup. I do recall large portions, however.
