Definitely a must-order appetizer. The pizza was just as good. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and a perfectly cooked crust that had the right mix of crisp and chew. The river is beautiful from the deck. The setting sun in summer is horrible - some sort of sunset shade would be helpful for deck seating. I was in a party of two and we ordered a small veggie pizza and falafel with hummus...40 minutes later still no food and no one has given an update. It's no longer busy. When we finally flagged down wait staff (our server was nowhere to be found) we were told they just put it in. So our server clearly never put the order in. Once the food came, my companion's vegetable pizza was burned. My falafel was barely warm, not fried, and soggy. There was no hummus to be found. The side salad was beautiful and tasted great. once I picked out the giant pieces of onion. The 1000 island dressing was excellent. This was in the top 2 of my favorite breweries on a recent 10 state 42 brewery road trip. This is a really small town on the St. Lawrence River in Northern New York. You can see Canada across the river. I had the French onion soup and it was excellent. Nice variety of beer and the beer was excellent. Super friendly staff. Took a short ride up to Alex Bay and Clayton. Stopped at the Wood Boat in Clayton NY for a bite to eat. This is not my first time here, we always take a trip to the Antique Boat Museum every year. The brewery is across the street from the museum so it's very convenient. Hostess told us to pick any table if we wanted to sit outside. They have a nice covered porch with plenty of seating. Pizza's Sandwiches, Apps, Craft Beers, Wine and Cocktails make up the menu. I had a Turkey wrap, and Lyman Light Ale, my wife had a Chicken Salad sandwich and a Ruffino Prosecco. Stopped in for lunch and had a couple of sandwiches as their pizza oven stopped working (we had to change our order after we were informed by our server). Had their White Cap Oatmeal stout (which wasn't bad) and a ham/swiss cheese sandwich and the others all had the BLT and soda.. Sandwiches were nice (but very small) and expensive for what you got ($14) - pack of chip s and a 1/4 pickle. I stopped in on a cold December afternoon and was greeted with a cozy friendly environment decorated for holidays. It's a couple blocks off the Main Street of Clayton across from Boat Museum. I had a couple light pilsners and IPA for my guest. I ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños that are a popular appetizer served with a raspberry dipping sauce, they do not disappoint! A must order! French Onion Soup for my co diner that is perfect for a belly warming comfort food when it's freezing cold outside. My husband chose his favorite and I tried their homemade Root Beer (designated driver) and it was delicious. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich which was large and really good! Noise level was fairly high due to the number of people. We got menus and drink orders taken fairly quickly. Our server, Grace, was polite, attentive, patient and knew the menu well to help us. She was 5 star! The pizzas we had were just ok. The best pizza was the pepperoni, followed by the buffalo chicken and the supreme. The pulled pork was not our fav. It came topped with coleslaw. We should of asked for the coleslaw on the side. It's not a sweet bbq sauce but more of a Carolina type bbq sauce which is not a fav of this yelper. We all really enjoyed the apps!! The pretzel sticks came with their house beer cheese dip which I though was one of the best tasting I've had. The bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers were cooked to crispy perfection and the sweet dip sauce that accompanied it was delicious. A great pairing i thought. We ordered garlic Parmesan wings as well. So we went here since we were in the area. Reviews looked good. Worth a try especially since my kid wanted pizza. So we got seated right away. It seemed busy but it's summer and expected. We ordered our drinks and a pepperoni pizza. And we wait and wait and wait. Took over an hour to get our pizza.. with a six year old that was hungry over an hour. Needless to say he was going crazy with nothing to do. No sorry we are stuck behind until 45 min into the wait where we were told there is a big party that ordered a lot of pizzas. We saw many people come and sit then leave without wait staff even acknowledgement. One would think they would offer something small or even some ask of hey we have this menu that doesn't require the pizza oven. Honestly we had considered canceling our order. Mind you they had a large party that decided every person needed to order their own large pizza.. so they were close to 10 pizzas for one party behind when they took our order. They may have wanted to warn us to order something different if we wanted to eat in a reasonable time. I know they can't prevent people from ordering so many at a table but maybe they should have a policy to stagger the pizzas that come out. And just so I don't look like a jerk, the people walked out with the pizza boxes as well.. so majority was not consumed. The wait staff were slow. At one point I got up to the bar to get my own refills for my table because we had not seen our waitress in a half an hour. The pizza itself was good. Clayton has a decent selection of eateries but closes up pretty early if you are looking for something to eat a little later. Fortunately the brewery was open until 9, we gave it a shot and weren't disappointed. They seated us reasonably fast on the large enclosed porch which has a view of the water and some sunset action. I had one of their popular IPA's which was good, kinda right up the middle of the crop but very drinkable. My wife has a local Pilsner which was also good. Being from Jersey pizza is basically a food group and theirs was very good and better then expected. We asked for well done which I usually recommend anywhere but real wood fired spots. The pizza came out great, crispy crust and the meat combo was really tasty. Very happy we tried it then took a walk down the docks to watch the sunset. They had a great menu which seemed to focus a lot on their brick oven pizza, so when in Rome ..., Thought we'd mix it up so we ordered a large Margherita pizza. ($21) Normally not my thing but my wife loves this kind of pizza so I said what the heck, take one for the team. Let me tell you, this Margherita pizza was absolutely spot on, without a doubt, 100% delicious. The wife said it's the best she's ever had. I cannot say enough about this pie and we destroyed it. Service They have indoor and outdoor seating and dogs are allowed on the patio. This may have been the main reason why we stopped in because we had our Yorkie. We were seated promptly outside and a fresh ice cold bowl of water was immediately provided. Very nice touch and can't thank them enough. Our server was Dave and he was exceptional. No rush, he answered all our questions. An extra shout out to Dave because he helped me out of my very low chair due to my bum leg and I am very grateful. For starters, I enjoyed their craft brew, "Lyman" Light Ale. This beer is described as a "clean, crisp blonde ale, mildly malty with a full mouth feel. There's no lime in this beer, instead, it pays homage to the world famous wooden boat manufacturer. Their half wedge salad, $7.5, hit the spot with bacon, Roma tomatoes, candied walnuts, red onions, and Gorgonzola dressing. The brick oven Bread Sticks with garlic butter mozzarella and house tomato sauce were a great combo! Hubs also ordered a personal size,$12, brick oven supreme.
