This was in the top 2 of my favorite breweries on a recent 10 state 42 brewery road trip. This is a really small town on the St. Lawrence River in Northern New York. You can see Canada across the river. I had the French onion soup and it was excellent. Nice variety of beer and the beer was excellent. Super friendly staff. When the weather is nice to have some patio seating as well. It looked like mostly street parking.

Took a short ride up to Alex Bay and Clayton. Stopped at the Wood Boat in Clayton NY for a bite to eat. This is not my first time here, we always take a trip to the Antique Boat Museum every year. The brewery is across the street from the museum so it's very convenient. Hostess told us to pick any table if we wanted to sit outside. They have a nice covered porch with plenty of seating. Pizza's Sandwiches, Apps, Craft Beers, Wine and Cocktails make up the menu. I had a Turkey wrap, and Lyman Light Ale, my wife had a Chicken Salad sandwich and a Ruffino Prosecco. Sandwiches were excellent and we have tried their pizza's too. also very good. I picked up a couple of their beer glasses, $5.00 each ...great deal. Waitress was great, stopped by our table several times. This is a fantastic place to sit and relax have a drink and food. Give it a try if your in Clayton NY https://www.woodboatbreweryny.com

My husband & I sat at the bar. The service was great from the bartender, she was very attentive to us, even with the restaurant being very busy. I loved the homemade root beer! Ordering the bacon wrapped jalapeños is a must. They were amazing with the raspberry dip and it added a nice sweet flavor to the spice from the pepper. The pepperoni/Italian sausage pizza was great too. The crust was thin with a fluffy crust.

Stopped in for lunch and had a couple of sandwiches as their pizza oven stopped working (we had to change our order after we were informed by our server). Had their White Cap Oatmeal stout (which wasn't bad) and a ham/swiss cheese sandwich and the others all had the BLT and soda.. Sandwiches were nice (but very small) and expensive for what you got ($14) - pack of chip s and a 1/4 pickle. The place was noisy as it was a holiday weekend so expect it to get a little loud at times. Good location and the patio area across from the water makes the view great.

Tasty beers and excellent service-would love to go back and try the pizza that also looked great.

GREAT PIZZA AND BEER ON TAP IN CLAYTON ===================================== My husband and I went to Wood Boat Brewery on April 9th when we were renting an Airbnb for a couple days from April 7th to April to April 10th. This restaurant was a couple blocks from our Airbnb which was nice. We loved the veggie pizza and asked for pepperoni on my husband's side. I was happy with the Hook, Line and Sinker Double IPA on tap. I ordered one other, but can't remember which right now. I'd definitely go there again if visiting Clayton. It is a really cute town right on the St. Lawrence River off of Lake Ontario.

I stopped in on a cold December afternoon and was greeted with a cozy friendly environment decorated for holidays. It's a couple blocks off the Main Street of Clayton across from Boat Museum. I had a couple light pilsners and IPA for my guest. I ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños that are a popular appetizer served with a raspberry dipping sauce, they do not disappoint! A must order! French Onion Soup for my co diner that is perfect for a belly warming comfort food when it's freezing cold outside. I also ordered a personal size truffle pizza which was hot out of the stone fire oven. Loved the garlic base, mozzarella, spinach, mushroom, and truffle sauce. Not your average pizza, yum! Plenty of leftovers for later. Staff was personable, made recommendations and very efficient.

Great beers with good bites. The brewery was decently sized with lots of options for beers and ciders. I got a stout and French onion soup both of which were pretty tasty. Service was good and the ambiance was very pleasant.

After a visit to the Antique Boat Museum... lunch at the nearby Wooden Boat Brewery was a win! Many craft beers to pick from. Lots of lunch choices. Absolutely the best ham and Swiss sandwich I have ever had. Onion soup very good. Cherry wheat beer quite good. Service a bit slow because they were swamped with customers. Erin was our server.

A LOT OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL ===========================…read more My husband and I stopped in on Monday, November 18th around 2:00 p.m.. There was hardly anyone inside, yet I had to wait ten minutes to get a table. It went downhill from there. One server for the whole restaurant is a problem. I just ordered a beer and fries. It was cold so my husband just wanted tea. The first cup tasted like coffee that he doesn't like. The second cup was cold. He gave up at that point. Even though it's the only place on the Black River we won't be back.

That said, we really did enjoy the food. It was BOGO beer or pizza. The hubby partook in a beer and we opted to share an appetizer of cheese curds and a fish and chips. I will say I was slightly disappointed with our curds. They were small and most were just empty pieces of batter. The people beside us got a beautifully breaded batch and much more. They tasted good, but still disappointed in the lack of curds (the empty ones). The fish was nice and light and not fishy at all. I really enjoyed the coleslaw and my husband likes the fries. It was just the right amount of crisp without being too much and the perfectly flaky fish. The price wasn't terrible and the lake view is very nice and relaxing.

First off, their website is odd. Not much information, quite confusing, sometimes it won't even load (on mobile device), so if you're trying to make a reservation, call them directly. Location, beautiful, along the river, great outdoor seating. I'm sure dinner and sunset is stunning. Good, it was okay. We ordered kids breakfast, huevos rancheros skillet thing, chicken and waffles, biscuit and gravy, and the whisky flight. The huevos ranchero was good, nothing to rave over but good. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup at first, I'm sure it was a mistake. The biscuit and gravy... looked amazing, but the biscuits were hard. Like rock hard, and even after sitting in the gravy, no moisture would come back. Haha Service... the lady was so sweet, but she kept forgetting us, she would place hot things right in front of the baby where she would easily grab it. She had a hard time splitting the bill. Ultimately we had to ask another waitress for water refill and splitting our bill. Maybe we will go back... but not in a rush.
