We were happy to find a breakfast spot with gluten free bread. I couldn't find a breakfast menu anywhere online so I am happy to share one, see pics. I believe they also serve lunch and dinner. This is in the middle of Downtown Alexandria Bay and right on the water. If you need the GF bread make sure to call and confirm they have it in stock before you come. I did make the call before coming and was glad I did. I ordered French toast and it came out on what looked like burger buns. It was still very good and tasty. I appreciated their ability to adapt but found it interesting they didn't mention this. My uncle sat at another table, at the same time, and asked for GF toast and was told there was no GF bread left. Just mentioning this because you might want to question all of this on the phone before you come if this would bother you. I had the GF French toast with Nutella drizzle and a side of bacon. It was tasty and a healthy portion. The Nutella was a nice touch. The bacon was a little thin for my liking, could have been a little crispier but there was a good amount for a side. My significant other agrees with my comment about the bacon. But he said the toast was very good and the deep fried home fries were pretty good. I didn't trust the ratings of this restaurant because tripcadvisor had really good reviews. Trip advisor is lies. Upon entering there was a small wait which isn't a big deal. The hostess was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming.. I thought man a good start.. then it went drastically down hill. It took us over an hour and half to get and finish our meal. Waiter came over and seemed out of place. Took our orders for drinks and appetizers then disappeared. Our drinks came out slowly considering it was two waters and a lemonade. We ordered the garlic cheese curds. We asked now for a Pepsi and Arnold Palmer with our dinner order.. drinks even slower than the last time came out.. no water refills to be seen. Then our food at this point should be done.. oh no waiter comes out..they are out of chicken fingers. Our child has to order something else.. choices were grilled cheese or pasta. We came here specifically because of the kids menu and tenders. That should have been told to us before even getting into the dining area. So I ask can you make a small kid burger? Nope! They are all premade burgers. They offer no alternative to a kids meal that has protein on it unless you want grilled cheese. What the actual hell. My kid has an issue with milk. This place is at a great location, and it's nicely decorated. Unfortunately, that's where the compliments end. After we were seated, our server appeared, although she was friendly, she wasn't to available to us, and then the food arrived .(took a long time to get to us) I ordered the Mediterranean Cod, and it was flavorless .The best thing on my dish was the baked beans, and I think they came out off a can. The vegetables on my plate appeared to be frozen, not fresh, they surely didn't taste fresh. We also had a lobster roll. It was definitely like something I've never seen before, small, unrecognizable pieces that looked dry and overcooked, I was told that it tasted as it looked. The kitchen manager came by and asked about our experience and offered a free funnel cake (a promotion for the month of may), which was pretty neat! The atmosphere was great, not much to say. It was clean, I can't complain. The biggest reason for my rating was the food and pricing. The food wasn't terrible, but it was average at best. The lobster roll barely had any lobster in it and it was just majority bread. This was irritating to me because I paid almost $30.00 for that meal. The pork sandwich was pretty much the same- all bread, very little meat. It cost $3.00 to upgrade to fries, which was wild to me.. The coleslaw literally tasted like it was thrown into a blender. It was so finely shredded that it felt like grit. The taste was okay, consistency was horrible. Not a fan. I got a hotdog for my son, and it was $9.00 for a hotdog (gigantic bun, didn't even eat it) and a bag of goldfish. Overall, it was alright, but I'm probably not going to go back. It was fairly busy, but a restaurant in this area is likely busy all the time during the summer So hearing that "It's a busy night" from staff really doesn't sit well with me. To wait 40 minutes for waters is ridiculous. I could understand waiting longer for appetizers, but the basic unit of life is easy enough to serve within a 5 minute period of time. We were quickly seated, due to a large party (more than 4), we can't get the window booth, otherwise would be a more closer lake view for us. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at this place. It started pretty much from the start. The waitress told us she would be right over. About 10 minutes later she came over and said what do you want to drink? I replied we are ready to order everything because we have tickets to the boat tour in an hour. She literally snapped at me and replied "that's fine but I said what do you want to drink first"? I have to enter drinks in this handheld before the food. Wow! My husbands eyes got Hugh because he thought I would snap back having been spoken to that way, but it was a family fun day so I kept it cool and let it go... so food was ordered and a half hour goes by, No food, no refill on our coffee, no communication from the waitress on why our 3 breakfast items are on over a half hour . Once it got to 45 minutes and nobody has said anything about where our food was I flagged down the waitress and she said she was yelling at the kitchen where is our food and the cook told her another 10 minutes! I told her we can't wait that long we have tickets and she said she would sent the manager right over. So I went next door and luckily was able to change the time of our boat tour for another hour so we would at least get to eat. When I was heading outside I saw the manager sitting at a booth in the corner playing on her phone!!! No joke!!! She never came to our table to explain why the food and service was so horrible!!! We finally got our food over an hour later. It was in a word horrendous!! I ordered a frittata and what I received was undercooked scrabble eggs with hard frozen veggies and raw pepperoni,raw chunks of white in color sausage! There was also a pool of water under my mushy eggs mess. To top off this experience the manager never got off her ass to come check on us and the waitress only returned to drop the check midway through eating. They took nothing off the check and offered zero apologies. I wonder if that waitress even told the manager their was a problem. Maybe she is chumming up with those horrible cooks and don't want to get them in trouble. We stopped in here for lunch while in town for a wedding. Our waitress got things off to a great start by suggesting a very good IPA (Wood Boat Brewing's Channel Marker IPA). I ordered a French onion soup, and the prime French dip sandwich (had a theme going I guess). The soup was about as good as French onion soup could be! What a nice surprise, as I really had no idea what to expect having never been here or even to this area before. My French dip sandwich was amazing. Nicely seasoned, tender beef, melted provolone cheese, and you can add onions, peppers and/or mushrooms if you want. The bun was sturdy and tasty, and the size of the sandwich was great-- not too big, not too small. It came with a perfect amount of au jus for dipping. Oui, oui! My wife played it safe and got a turkey club, but it was really assembled well and had a nice proportion to it and a nice balance of items. Both sandwiches came with homemade chips, which were nicely seasoned and nice and crispy. Our booth looked out onto the water where boat tours and local fisherman were heading in and heading out. We ordered the St. Lawrence scramble, the Maryland Benedict and the Bacon Jam Omelette. The St Lawrence was loaded with meat. They did not skimp on anything.
