Most of the other places around here have bad reviews so we came here. Well the good reviews are well earned. Not fancy by a solid spot for a good meal. I tried one the specials which was a broiled haddock. It was excellent, fresh. Ice white meat perfectly broiled served with my choice of side. I picked the sweet potato fries which were very well done. My wife had the shrimp scampi with some very fresh and well cooked shrimp served over angel hair pasta is butter. Again not fancy just good ingredients well executed. They have very reasonably priced drinks and the service was on point. Great place for a meal in the is part of the world. read more

Came here based on the good Yelp reviews and our experience was not quite as glowing as others...but it was not bad either! Quick service, nicely air conditioned, and decent menu options. We both opted to get sandwiches. Hubby got a pulled pork/beef sandwich and it was not too spicy...lucky for me as I always like to snag a bite of his meal. He really liked the sweet potato fries - nice and crispy. My sandwich was good but a tad greasy as it was grilled. The crisp on the bread was good but a little too greasy for me. went last night for Italian night. awful. lasagna was on the menu but that was the only Italian dish on the italian menu. there is nothing Italian about chicken bacon ranch pasta. Anyway I ordered chicken parm off the regular menu with a posted price $16.95 and requested spaghetti instead of angel hair was told no problem. asked if there were any rolls or italIan bread. Waitress said no but I can butter a piece of white bread if you want. Declined her offer. Meal came out with angel hair instead of spaghetti. Sauce looked and tasted like chef boy a Dee. Bill came and was charged $18.95. Questioned the waitress and said she would find out why. came back and pointed to the bottom of the menu where it said that menu items and prices are subject to change. I understand that but one should be told that the price you see on the menu is not the actual price of the meal. What made it worse was the tone in her voice as she was saying it-very degrading. Last year when we visited they were adding a service charge to the bill which turned out to be a server gratuity but if you didn't check your bill and seen it you would have still left a tip on top of that. I noticed that it was no longer on the bill this time around so there must have been complaints. I won't be going back to this restaurant again. Buyer beware read more

We were in Clayton for the pumpkin Chuckin event. It was like being at the New York State fair. So when we tried to get reservations, they were all booked up by 9 AM. So we decided to head towards abay. There was a place called JK's roadhouse that got great reviews on yelp so we decided to check it out and we were certainly not disappointed. But reservations are required. When we got there, we were politely seated and a energetic server came over to take our water order. Turns out after conversation she was one of the owners doing waitressing that night. Man was she busy. But it was as if we had a continuous server she was that good. So we ordered the prime rib since it was a Saturday special and looked really good. The order came out very timely and it was the most delicious prime rib. I think I've had in a long time. Buttered baked potato broccoli on the side what more could you ask for. The food was five star. The service was five star. I would recommend this place to anybody. And we will absolutely make it a stop every time we go out towards Alexandria Bay. Stop and meet the owners and support this local establishment. They deserve it. Great job folks. read more

Very disappointed not close to pizza sauce. Very disappointed. Delicious food with fast, friendly service made for a pleasant Saturday night. Just make sure to get there before five, or have reservations. They fill up quickly. The prime rib looked really good, but I opted for the chicken parmesan. It was a huge plate of chicken and cheese and pasta and sauce. And very tasty. We sat at the bar where we were greeted by Erin. Super nice very friendly!! We are from Rochester where we are known for our wings. Let me tell you their wings are incredible!!! I went there today and I had their homemade soup which her mom made and it was excellent. Need to go and get the sausage, cabbage vegetable soup. I couldn't actually get food to give a review on that. The service is so horrible that I could barely pay for the one drink I was able to get. The waitress never bothered to to stop by my table after sitting there for 20 mins. Matter of fact she didn't notice me until she saw my cup was empty so I decided to pay and leave. Don't bother this place is a dump, the table was rickety and wobbled all over, and the whole place smelled like a urinal to top it off, I couldn't smell any food. read more

Great friendly place! Drink prices are more then fair and the food is good. So far I've tried the burger, pot roast and the Islander. The burger is really juicy, the veggies fresh and the bun was toasted and very good. All in all a good burger. Oh and the fries, really good fries. The pot roast was very good as well. It was very tender and flavorful. I was not a fan of the mashed potatoes it came with. The Islander was pretty good. There was a good amount of turkey and the bread it was on was great. It was a solid sandwich but I do wish I had ordered a burger instead, I just can't get over it. read more

A winter favorite for snow mobilers and ice fisherman. Summer time and the living is easy. We started as primarily a bar on the rough side and we have changed into a restaurant that also has a bar.

Meet the Business Owner: Sandy C.

Retired military that wasn't quite ready to retire. When I first opened my children were teenagers and I wanted them to work for me first and learn what a good work ethic and hard work was before going out on their own. My girls have stayed and the boys do all my upgrades and projects. Every year we try to get better. Our motto is good food, good service and a good price. It's not fancy but it is family. If you get something you don't like please tell us we will do our best to make it right.

I frequent the areas bars, restaurants, clubs and entertainment venues and spend decent $$$ at each. Last night was the topper. It was Pirates Weekend in the Bay. I went into the Downtown Club. I was in full Pirate regalia. I was asked for proof (no problem, even if I'm 68, but I understand). I walked into the foyer to see if a good friend of mine was bartending. 2 bouncers aggressively came up to me and said, "where is your wrist band"? (Unknowingly that i even needed one). I said, "what wtistband? I'm just looking for ----- to see if hes bartending tonight. They said, he's not here today and told me to get the Fu** out. They forceably grabbed me by the back of my coat and PUSHED OUT THE DOOR". I was NOT being nasty at all to them (not in my nature), nor have I ever had any previous confrontations there. They were just plain overwhelmed and nasty because of the crowd and most likely put up with craziness all day long, but there was no reason for them to take out any of their aggression on me at all. Apparently they are charging $20 just to walk through the door and their drinks average, around $10 to $15 and up each, in a 9oz plastic cup. So if you want to spend a small fortune for little to nothing, this is your place to go. They have nothing to offer for a $20 admission. NO live music (just a DJ Spinning Tecno Music), NO Drink or food special, basically, NO NOTHING. In any respect, overwhelmed or not, that is no respectful way to treat a customer. I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I work too hard for my money and I refuse to put ONE CENT over the bar of this inhospitable place. I know a lot of people whereas I am in entertainment and a personality in the Buffalo NY area and known throughout the country promoting my own genre. I may not know enough people to deter that would even frequent this hovel, to put them out of business, but I WILL do my utmost to get the word out to 10's of thousands of my contacts to avoid this place if theyre ever to visit Alexandria Bay. There's more CIVIL ways to handle a situation other than putting addle minded baboons at the door.
